Chapter 734: She’s become an idiot.
Deborah’s pupils slowly dilated as her mouth fell open. Her attention was fixed on Hera’s back as the latter slowly took off her dress in front of the tub. She had always known Hera was barely skin and bones, but she didn’t expect that underneath her usual clothes, her body was covered with bruises. There was barely an area of her body that wasn’t bruised; it was as if Hera had gone through a fraternity initiation.
"So warm..." Hera whispered in delight as she dipped her foot in the warm tub. A satisfied smile turned up on her face, holding the rims as she raised her other foot. Slowly, she bent her knees until her entire body was covered with the warmth of the water.
"Thank you," she expressed once she settled in the tub, turning her head to the toilet where Deborah sat. "The maids wouldn’t allow me to take a bath all on my own. I’m surprised they didn’t make a fuss when you told them you’d help me."
Deborah’s lips parted for a moment, but her voice didn’t come out of her throat. All she could do for a moment was stare at Hera with blank eyes.
"What happened to your body?" she blurted out after a moment, making Hera raise her brows.
"Oh, this?" Hera instinctively placed her hand on her bruised shoulder. "I don’t know. It just appears for no reason. I easily bruise."
’No reason?’Knowing that Dragon wouldn’t physically harm her now, Deborah could only think of one possible logic behind her bruises.
It was the effect of drugs on Hera’s body. After all, even though Hera woke up after years of being in a coma, Dragon would still make her take different sorts of drugs. Not to mention, to erase her memories, they electrocuted her brain with just enough shock not to kill her.
’She’s no better than a guinea pig,’ Deborah thought, feeling a little sorry for Hera. ’I know I’m the one who tried to kill her years ago, but this... is sickening.’
