Chapter 682: Not without your boss
Heaven often overlooked many things in the past, using her own logic to make sense of them. However, with Dragon in the picture, she wanted to ensure the true allegiance of everyone around her. Not that she trusted Tiger with all her heart and soul. The only people Heaven trusted now were herself and Dominic. Therefore, Tiger wasn’t the only person she asked for the same favor. She asked every single one of them.
This might be considered as breaking her team apart, but it could also be seen as the opposite. She was planting the idea so that if someone turned out to be a mole, they could deal with this mole properly. If no one did, then that was good. As for Dane Zhang, Heaven wanted to make sure this man was loyal to Dominic.
Looking back, there were things that wouldn’t make sense to her. For instance, how did Primo get his people into Dominic’s territory? Dane Zhang screened and chose everyone who worked directly for Dominic. Therefore, the loyalty of this man was also being questioned.
"He’s the last person I’d ever expect to be suspicious of," Tiger couldn’t help but comment as he walked Heaven back to the art department. "I’ve seen the man scream his lungs out for a straight ten minutes while running away with his tail between his legs."
Heaven glanced at him and said, "I can do that too."
"Fair point." Tiger nodded as he snapped his eyes ahead, catching the end of the hallway that would lead them to the art department. "Well, if he turns out to be a bad guy, I’d be very disappointed in myself."
"Instead of disappointment, I’d be more hostile," she said. "That means he deceived everyone, and that’s rare."
Tiger nodded but didn’t say anything more. The two of them walked quietly until they reached the turn, only to stop when they saw someone standing not far away from the end of the hallway where they turned.
Heaven and Tiger furrowed their brows while Ivy slowly turned her head in their direction. Her eyes immediately shone with curiosity at the sight of them.
