"Mhm." Dane pressed his lips and smiled. "Are you okay?"
"Yes. I didn’t get hurt, but I’m still told to stay here," she explained, keeping it short and vague. After that night, Ivy passed out when her adrenaline wore out. Dane let out a short chuckle. "I have to work since my boss is in a comatose."
"Did Dom really get in a comatose?" she asked. "As far as I know, he was fine when... that night ended. But the news makes me second guess."
Dane didn’t answer as he smiled. He picked up the basket on the floor and placed it on the bedside table.
"I brought you some fruits," he said, turning his head in her direction. "I wish you a speedy recovery."
"Thank you." She nodded, guessing that was his way to change the topic.
"Anyway, I’ve seen some of your relatives outside the ward," he brought up as he unwrapped the plastic wrapper that was around the fruit basket. "They didn’t look a bit pleased to see me."
