Chapter 561: A hunch
Meanwhile...
Dominic furrowed his brows as he had his eyes out the window of the back seat. It was almost nighttime and was already on his way back to the office to wait for his wife. But somehow, he felt this sudden restlessness in his heart.
"Mr. Zhang, did something happen in the company while we were away?" he asked, setting his eyes on the front passenger seat.
Dane instinctively looked back at the backseat, confused. "No, sir. If there’s a problem, I’m the first person they would reach out to."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." Dane nodded, knitting his brows even more. Had there ever been a time he lied to Dominic about the company’s status? "Everything is doing fine. It’s just that everyone is busy with tomorrow’s event."
Dominic rocked his head in understanding, making Dane wonder.
"Why did you ask, sir?" Dane inquired out of plain curiosity. "Is there’s something wrong?"
"I just had this strange feeling just now." Dominic leaned back and pinched the bridge of his nose, eyes shut. "Don’t mind me. I’m just probably overthinking things."
Overthinking things? That sounded even weirder.
It wasn’t that Dominic didn’t have those episodes, but it wasn’t like this. His line of questions wasn’t as strange as his questions now.
