When Heaven agreed to marry Dominic, she cut everyone off except the persistent Paula Shen. She had to use most of her life savings to pay off the agency for breaching her contract; she dismissed her manager, her assistant, her glam team, and everyone with her behind the scenes.
She had a reason for that.
Heaven was so ashamed and scared that she didn’t want others to know she got pregnant by a man she didn’t know. Her marriage was something she considered a scandal. Thus, she chose to leave the industry quietly.
During that time, Heaven was not in the right state of mind. Fueled by the narcissistic and manipulative Paula Shen, Heaven believed everyone hated her, including her fans. Therefore, she didn’t even look at her social media and muted all of them. She could’ve deleted the app, but somehow, she didn’t for a reason even the original Heaven couldn’t explain.
Perhaps, deep down, the original Heaven didn’t delete them because she wanted to look at them once she was strong enough and ready. Unfortunately, she died even before she could muster the courage.
"Why did you think the world ended five years ago?" asked Sebastian with genuine wonder in his voice. "Was it because you were ill?"
Heaven sighed. "Yes, because I was ill."
"You said it wasn’t deadly."
"Basti, my baby, mommy’s sickness wasn’t deadly, but it was fatal." Heaven ruffled her son’s hair gently. "Although I’m fine now, I still can’t help but regret most things. For instance, I regret not being able to show you how important you are to me."
