After sending Dominic off, Sebastian and Heaven continued their lazy morning in the family room. As usual, Sebastian brought his books with him while his mother busied herself with her phone.
"Do you like it that much?" he couldn’t help but ask, watching her peel her eyes from the phone for the first time in minutes.
"It’s our first family photo. I can’t get enough of it." Her lips stretched from ear to ear as her cheek turned pinkish. "Look at you. You’re so cute!"
Heaven raised her phone, showing him their family photo. "We look so cute together as if we’re a match made in heaven!"
Sebastian didn’t react as he studied the photo for a moment. In the photo, he was sitting on his mother’s lap while she was hugging him from behind. Her bright smile gave her a lot sweeter look, as if they had been a happy family since day one.
It wasn’t bad. It was just that... he disliked the way Dominic was in the picture. His father didn’t have to make it too obvious by leaning his face closer to his mother.
"We should take more pictures from now on," Heaven suggested as she retrieved her phone. "Capturing every moment so we can look back at them one day."
"Okay." Sebastian shrugged, setting his attention back on the book.
Now that it was just the two of them, Sebastian could relax. He didn’t need to compete with Heaven’s attention. After all, Sebastian believed if he stayed like this whenever his father was around, his mother might forget his presence. Considering Dominic was proactive.
With that thought in mind, Sebastian relaxed his shoulders as he focused on the book. Heaven kept her eyes on him, smiling.
’He’s been distracted the entire morning,’ she thought. ’I shouldn’t bother him for now since he seemed he had been itching to read the book.’
