Chapter 29: It’s Painful But Addictive
Seeing Xiao Shao’s frowning eyebrows, Xiao Jing went to the sleigh and came back with a ceramic jar in her hands. Xu Xiang glanced at the ceramic jar, but just watched them quietly.
Seeing the deep frown on his elder brother’s face, Xiao Han brought his elder brother a bowl of warm water and said, "Elder brother, drink some water."
"Mhm."
After Xiao Shao drank the water and wiped his lips, Xiao Jing opened the ceramic jar, and the sweet fruity aroma spread out from it. She stretched out her hands that were holding the ceramic jar, and said, "Elder Brother, eat dried fruit to wash away the bitterness."
Xiao Shao looked at the dried fruit for a few seconds, and then glanced at Xu Xiang. Seeing that she didn’t show any reaction, he picked up a piece of dried fruit and ate it. When the faint sweetness and fruity aroma entered his mouth, his frowning disappeared instantly.
’Looks like he has a sweet tooth.’
Xu Xiang sat there with her chin propped on her palm, watching the siblings happily talking with each other and eating dried fruit. Since she had to wait for the Xiao family to wash and change clothes, she just sat there, doing her work inside her own space with her mind.
When Xiao Shao changed his clothes and came back, he saw her sitting on the stone boulder in dazed. Twenty minutes later, she was done watering and tending to the farmlands and orchards. After her mind came out of the space, she was surprised to see Xiao Shao sitting across from her, staring at her.
Seeing her recovering from her daze, Xiao Shao asked, "Are you alright?"
