Chapter 418: Meowscarada's Thoughts
Although Lin Feng had guessed correctly, there was no way he was going to admit it.
Still, thinking about it carefully, Team Rocket's influence really was enormous.
Even in the Donghua Region, there was news about Team Rocket.
He wondered whether Blue would eventually tell Red about him.
Faced with the customers teasing him, Lin Feng simply shook his head, smiled, exchanged a few casual words with them, and then left the ranch.
Originally, he had planned to head straight to Changsha City from the entrance.
Now, however, that didn't seem like a very good idea.
After wandering around for a bit, he returned to the ranch.
Although it was still early morning, some Pokémon had already woken up and eaten breakfast.
Serperior, Pidgeot, and the ever-early Blaziken were already active.
Others were still asleep.
Miltank, Butterfree, Dragonite, Goodra, Salamence...
And one Pokémon that had only just woken up...
Meowscarada.
Because the effects of the freely-transforming Pokéblocks hadn't worn off yet, it was still in its "miniature" state.
It stood only about fifty or sixty centimeters tall.
But as it slowly walked out of the barn, its body gradually grew larger and taller.
Right on schedule.
Every day was the same.
It shrank while sleeping and returned to normal size after waking up.
"Meow?"
Meowscarada looked at Lin Feng as he entered the ranch and scratched its head with a paw.
Training again today?
Lin Feng smiled and greeted it.
To be honest, after evolving, Meowscarada no longer felt like a typical feline Pokémon.
Instead, it reminded him more of Gardevoir, or even Mewtwo in some ways.
In certain poses, it looked even more human-like than Gardevoir.
After all, Gardevoir's legs were usually hidden beneath its gown.
Most of the time, when it moved around, you couldn't even see its feet. It seemed to glide across the ground as though floating.
Fortunately, it had blue hair.
Otherwise, seeing a white silhouette floating around at night with glowing red eyes would be rather unsettling.
Meowscarada, on the other hand, had very noticeable legs.
They were covered in sleek, soft fur that almost shimmered in the light.
Sometimes it even looked as though it were wearing clothing.
Human legs, almost.
In everyday life, it walked on two feet.
During battle, however, it would drop onto all fours, its fur standing on end like an alert wild cat.
( ´・ω・`) ? : "Meow~"
Meowscarada nodded and trotted over to Lin Feng, blinking at him expectantly.
It was asking whether it could come along.
For the past few days, Lin Feng had been busy brewing wine and making Pokéblocks.
He hadn't had much time to play with it.
In fact, he hadn't spent much time with most of his Pokémon.
For some reason, all of them seemed to have been motivated by something.
Ever since his return, their desire to grow stronger had noticeably increased.
They trained harder than before.
They woke up earlier as well.
Even Serperior would secretly slip into the Wutong Forest after finishing its daily responsibilities.
Meowscarada often followed behind.
"Wait a minute. When I get back, I'll spend time with you."
Today's schedule was already set.
First, he would go to Changsha City.
Then he would find Su Luo.
Don't ask why he suddenly remembered her name.
The reason was simple.
Last night, while thinking about today's trip, he realized it would be incredibly awkward if he arrived and couldn't even remember her name.
So he had specifically searched through footage from the Youth Cup and looked it up.
"Meow?"
The light in Meowscarada's eyes dimmed slightly.
Then it brightened again.
"Meow~" (Then I'm coming too! I'm coming too!)
"Huh? I haven't even told you where I'm going yet. I'm just heading to Changsha City to pick up the Happiny we talked about before. I'll be back soon..."
Lin Feng paused.
Looking into Meowscarada's hopeful eyes, he suddenly felt that refusing such a small request would be too cruel.
"Fine. You can come."
ヽ(✿゚▽゚)ノ: "Meow~"
Excitement instantly lit up Meowscarada's face.
It spread its arms and threw itself into Lin Feng's embrace.
Back when it was a Sprigatito, it loved curling up in its trainer's arms.
Now that it had evolved and grown much larger, that was no longer possible.
The best it could do was hug him tightly.
"Alright, alright. Even if you're this happy, you'll probably still have to stay inside your Poké Ball once we get there."
Lin Feng sighed helplessly.
"Meow~" (I don't care...)
Meowscarada loosened its grip and looked up at him.
That part didn't matter.
Opportunities to spend time alone with its trainer were rare.
"Fine, then. Let me go get your Poké Ball."
With no other choice, Lin Feng headed toward the house.
But just as he turned around, he spotted Serperior standing quietly at the barn entrance, watching him.
"Good morning, Serperior."
"Serperior?"
Serperior rolled its eyes at him.
Then it turned around and slithered directly into the ranch.
"Huh?"
The sudden reaction left Lin Feng confused.
He wanted to follow and ask what was wrong, but Serperior had already disappeared into the berry orchard.
"Forget it. I'll ask later when I get back."
Not dwelling on it, Lin Feng returned to his room and retrieved Meowscarada's Poké Ball.
Dragonite and Salamence were still asleep.
There was no way he was going to bother Giratina in the Reverse World over something this minor.
That left only one option.
Pidgeot.
Together with Meowscarada, he headed toward the area beneath the giant pine tree where the Pidgeot flock lived.
Looking up at the countless Pidgeot perched among the branches, Lin Feng couldn't help but feel that one day the massive pine tree might collapse under their collective weight.
Among them, the largest Pidgeot, the flock leader, could no longer stay on the tree at all.
Over the past few days, it had grown even larger.
It now stood at an astonishing 3.6 meters tall.
Unless it ate one of the size-changing Pokéblocks.
To avoid frightening people, it rarely left the ranch.
Most of the time, it remained in the berry fields.
Only occasionally would it shrink itself before going outside.
At this rate, Lin Feng thought, it might eventually become as massive as a legendary giant dragon.
With a single flap of its wings, it could probably blot out the sky itself.
He really needed to run some experiments using that mutated Pecha Berry tree that produced size-altering berries.
Perhaps he could develop a special recipe that would allow Pidgeot to freely control its size.
Of course, there was no urgency.
At the moment, the tree's yield was still extremely low.
Each harvest produced only five berries.
And every time he picked them, the same thought crossed his mind.
A mutated plant was already a brand-new variety.
So after being continuously nourished by Serperior's Grassy Terrain...
Could it mutate a second time?
That was a question worth thinking about.
