Chapter 46: SysDi 46: Recovering

Tired, hungry and thirsty, Evan was more than eager to walk back home. It felt like forever, walking around in the stone hill cave without the insistent sound of Iva talking in his head.

There is still that worry within him. Iva just disappeared when he tried using the Simulation Zone when he didn’t know that he shouldn’t. If only he had asked it if he could use the Simulation Zone while he was inside, then, maybe Iva would still be its usual annoying self in his head.

Now, he is left in silence. He can’t believe he is missing a voice constantly speaking with him the moment it stopped talking.

Evan finally reached the stairs and began his slow ascend. The torches on the walls provide less comfort but it was still a comfort.

Halfway through, even with the darkness outside indicating that it was night time, the lights of the torches completely disappeared and something suddenly felt off.

Normally, that was okay. Evan is already used to the slow ascend in the darkness the moment the light made everything dark. The last time this had happened was when he had to run for his life being chased by a something Iva called a Watch User Slayer.

Being busy made him forgot to ask Iva more about them.

There’s still a lot of things that he has no idea about. Which is why he would rather have his usual chat buddy back.

The forest is eerily quiet. There are no leaves rustling, no branches being crushed by any animals around, no crickets. Just pure silence. Not even the wind is blowing kind of quiet.

For a moment, Evan felt like he was in the Simulation Zone. It was almost the same feeling, except he knows what it would look like. That was not this way.

Back outside the forest, looking at the fields on his left, it was empty but tilted. Evan looked at it confused. His father had already harvested the corn? But that was supposedly a thing he should’ve helped his dad with.
