Chapter 45: SysDi 45: Willpower, Intellect and Perseverance 7
There is a faint light that enveloped Evan’s leg that made him turn away for a moment. He waited for the light to disappear before he looks back at his leg.
He had no injury before, so he wasn’t expecting it to work. The dark corridor was just giving hi penalties because he forcibly and stubbornly continued. For all he knew, he’s probably just tired.
Evan tried to stretch his leg. Surprisingly, it’s not wet with the water anymore and he can move it freely. He folds and unfolds it two more times before he is satisfied with how much smoother his movement is.
"It did work." Evan sighs in relief. Well, at least if he has a way to go back, he could probably finish the other corridor he left unexplored.
He shifts to his other side, so his right leg will get the same treatment. Soon, water was poured from his right knee, a faint light came from the entire leg and thigh that made Evan look away for a moment to shield his eyes, and then stretching it the same way he did on his left leg just to be sure and he is done.
He stood up and jumped, trying to make sure that he did have better mobility. It did. He could move much faster now. In fact, if he didn’t know any better, he felt as if he is faster before the the dark corridor happened.
But that would be impossible. He didn’t level up and he almost reached 0 hit points. There’s no way he has a better agility now. He checked his status after almost dying. His agility numbers didn’t change.
Instead of dwelling on that, Evan felt the ground rumble that he almost lost his footing. He ducked down, to gain more balance as the entire room began to shake.
He looked around in alarm, not knowing what to do. Is he cave ceiling falling in? He remembers that his point of entry disappeared earlier. Where is he going to go now?
A loud ’splash!’ caught Evan’s attention. The path in front of him emerged from the water, connecting the path he is now on, to the other side of the cave. He path didn’t look stable at all, but at least it is a possible way out.
The cave stops shaking, and so did the rumbling. Evan slowly stands up with his arms outstretched just in case something moves out of nowhere again. Taking a deep breath, he finally took the first step.
