Kagerou grunted. "Sorry, Vacuse. I don’t like the guy, but he’s powerful."
"Let the test conclude first." Lyra rolled her eyes, although there was a pensive look on her face and an unreadable glint in her eyes.
Even Harkon, that was standing nearby, released a sigh.
Vacuse raised his brows. "What’s that, Harkon? Don’t tell me you don’t like me and you’re glad Amon might be your new heir."
At this point, people were congratulating Amon, who was smiling so hard, flashing scornful looks at Vacuse’s way.
Across the room, a small smile appeared on Lord Ragna’s face and he murmured, "It seems the new heir that I’ll be talking to as equal is already here. A shame, I feel Vacuse would be harder to manipulate. It would have been fun."
More and more whispers spread in the room and everyone was already in a mood of jubilation.
Vacuse shook his head as he stepped forward. "You would think Lyra isn’t an A ranked too."
The room was getting silent as they registered that Vacuse was stepping forward. They all knew of the clash between the two, even though they were so far apart.
Even though Vacuse just learned of it recently.
Lyra gave a polite smile as she replied, "It’s well known that I already stepped down from the line of succession."
