The Amazing White-Spider

School has been something, to say the least, for Ekaj, as walking through the halls that he used to know but from a different angle was a very interesting, although terrible, experience as he no longer had the knowledge of knowing what happened all around him.

Along with that was how he had to get used to all the eyes that were following with multiple types of gazes that make Ekaj wonder just how his other half ever managed to get used to something like this.

Their stares filled Ekaj with utter disgust as he felt the looks of desire on some that made him feel like a slab of meat that, unlike the kind he tended to enjoy, was a disgusting look to him as they eyed him like prey but without the conviction to attack.

Then there were the people that had more red in their eyes, as the looks in their eyes didn't spark any form of joy and looked to be similar to him or a beast in the wild as they eyed a threat and sized them up to see what they should do should the need arise.

Ekaj thinks: The halls are filled with nothing but the detestable feelings of life. UGH! I cannot understand how Jake ever got used to the stares and feelings that came about them.

Of course, the reason everyone was staring at Ekaj, or to them Jake, was because of his hair, as Jake normally had regular hair but with some green tips, and why not since he figured it'd make him look cool along with making him stand out?

Now the man had "died" his hair not just pure bleached white but also created a little braid that had multiple different colors, and no one could understand why, but they were all just wondering what this meant.

And since Ekaj was used to the sights of dangerous events along with thinking the worst of everyone misinterpreted all the looks people were giving to be far worse than they actually were.

Going through the motions of school, everyone wondered what was going on with Jake, as instead of sitting with his friends, now he almost always tried to take a seat at the back and rarely said a word unless he was called upon.

When school finally finished, Jake was very happy to leave the place for the day as well as dread coming right back, as he wanted to try and find Mia and make her regret ever trying to kill him for something that didn't even happen.

Ekaj: "Not worrying my parents is very annoying! Everything would be a lot easier if I could just do whatever I wanted without having to worry about his life."

Harry appeared and suddenly grabbed Jake's shoulder and turned him around and hugged his best friend in a way that was obvious he missed Jake, but at the same time Ekaj was certain the strength in his arms was a bit stronger than Ekaj thought was necessary.

Harry: "What the heck happened to you, man? You just suddenly vanished for a month!? We all thought you were dead!"

It was for but a moment, but Ekaj was certain that within Harry's voice he heard what sounded a bit like disdain for the fact that Jake was still alive, and not just that, but Ekaj was certain he put far more strength with the hug than was necessary.

Ekaj opened his mouth to question Harry about the hug and the bitterness from his voice, but before he could, Penny appeared by running into Ekaj and ramming her entire body face-first into his chest, causing him to flop on the ground.

With the split second Ekaj had to look around, he noticed an annoyed expression on Harry's face that he swears was filled with jealousy and anger over Penny launching herself into Jake's chest.

Penny: "(Sits up on top of Ekaj) WHERE THE HECK WERE YOU!"

Ekaj: "Sorry... was dealing with some personal problems."

Penny: "What? Did something happen to your family!?"

Harry: "Yeah. Did anything happen to your parents? What about your sister? Please don't tell me something happened to your grandparents."

Ekaj: "No. Just had some things that I needed to focus on for a little bit and needed to clear my head a bit."

Pushing Penny up, Jake gets up and pats himself and Penny off of everything that might have gotten on them from the fall and walks away to try and find Mia while leaving his friends confused about what just happened, as they can't help but just feel that Ekaj's not their friend and is, in fact, someone else.

The biggest outliner for this was, of course, Penny, as Jake had long since started avoiding her pounce attacks, as she's been doing that ever since they were kids, as she finds it the funniest thing ever to pounce on someone without them knowing she's around or going to do it.

Harry hugging him was also another alert since Harry wasn't raised to hug many people and was instead taught that a firm handshake can say more than anything a hug ever could.

Which was a lie, as hugging a child is always going to be better than just shaking their hand, but even so, Jake would always ask whenever he saw Harry hug anyone, as he knew it's not something he normally does.

Before Jake could start looking for the woman that tried to kill him and Jake, he had to make sure to let Jake's family know that he was safe and that nothing happened to him, as he doesn't want to worry them any more than he already has.

This meant that the investigation had to be put on halt once more as the second he stepped through the front door, Jake's parents dragged him inside and basically threw him onto the couch and forced their son to relax as best he could.

Haley just jumped and plopped herself on her brother's lap like a massive cat and wouldn't get off unless Ekaj told her where he was going, and even then, she might not let go and instead force herself to go with him like a massive dog or cat.

Ekaj thinks: Jake might love this, but as I don't really care about any of them as much as he does, I can't really understand what they expect me to feel with them forcing me inside the house along with the constant observation the parents and sister place on me.

Ekaj internally sighs over everything that he's forced to live through but smiles as he knows that tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day where he can search the city for as long as he wants since the entire family is going to be watching Haley perform in a stage play.

Haley: "I wonder what Mom and Dad will bring me? They always bring something embarrassing along with being the loudest people in the room."

Ekaj just nodded his head, as from Jake's memory he understands fully that everything the parents did seemed to exist to embarrass them or greatly annoy their kids.

Either way doesn't matter for Ekaj since he's far too old for anything the parents might do with him or bring him, which just made things even worse for Haley as she was the focus point on her parents.
