Symbiote Wars Aftermath
A week has passed since the destruction that was forced upon this fair city, and during this time the Avengers, along with Oscorp, have been trying their best to fix all the damages that were caused to the city, along with making sure everyone was safe, okay, and not infected by any symbiotes.
Among all of that, the most interesting and amazing thing had to be Spider-Woman officially joining the Avengers as one of their newest members. There was a giant celebration among everyone that really cared about it, as the remnants of said party were still being found even though the party started four days ago.
Osborn over speakers: "My fellow New Yorkers! I promise you this: as your next city mayor, I promise that something like this will never happen again! (Swings fist upon something loud enough to be heard.) With all of your support, just like the men and women who serve this city, Oscorp is proud to introduce its brand-new line of security. We have cameras that shall read and judge anything out of the ordinary and call for help before it even happens with a guaranteed one... (sounds of him panting can be heard) one per... percent."
The audio clicks and starts repeating once more as deep inside Alchemax, Osborn is inside a tube of some glowing green liquid as teams of scientists all watch over him. Something called G--- something was either being studied from Osborn or injected inside of him.
Scientist 1: "So... how long do you think he'll last this time?"
Scientist 2: "His election of his condition?"
Scientist 1: "(Strokes his chin like he has some majestic beard even though he's only got a five o'clock shadow.) Well, I give him a two percent chance of winning, and it's still fifty/fifty for his condition. I mean, he only lasted about two months this time, while the one before was a year and a half."
Scientist 2: "And the ones before that were either months or weeks, with the worst being about an hour after he left."
Scientist 1: "Yeah, I wonder what happened to that Oooo (snaps his fingers playfully), what was his name? I know it was O something, but after that's all a blank."
Scientist 2: "Well, of course it was O-"
Just then their leader, foreman, or whoever was in charge of them came in and started yelling at them after throwing his clipboard towards them. All the papers that were on the floor seemed to belong to something called Project Athena, Ares, Hades, and Prometheus.
The two scientists pick up the papers and place them back in the clipboard as they hand it back to the man who threw it at them, and the second he turned around, they started sticking their tongues out at him, with one of them even flipping him off inside their pocket just in case they were seen.
Seeing all this happen, the other scientists all just roll their eyes as they pretend not to see either of the two as they continue working on the machine Osborn was inside as the two scientists that were talking before walk over to opposite sides of the chamber and pull down their levers as Osborn is sealed inside a giant metal ball with all the pistons glowing as they slowly begin moving in and out as sparks start flying all over the place.
Moving above ground, Penny, or rather Spider-Woman, was relaxing inside one of the Fantastic Four guest rooms that was basically hers from how often she visited the place and used it whenever she needed a place to stay when Aunt May was being... herself or whenever she thought being Spider-Woman was potentially bringing harm to her Aunt May.
Walking around the building, Penny brushes her hand across Johnny's things as she, too, enjoys messing with the wannabe hotshot and sometimes instigating a fight between him and Ben, as, let's be real, those two didn't really need a concrete reason to fight.
While she was going around the place trying her best to hide any indication that Jake was anywhere inside the place and possibly just get them to think it was some common robber who stole their stuff, since the reason she was kind of there was to stop such things from happening.
Pulling out her mask and putting it on, the whole area starts to change as Penny cycles through all her different AR settings, with them being Halloween, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day, Prank Day, combat training, and a quick random setting that briefly shows her and someone in pink lights that Penny quickly and embarrassingly changes away.
Looking left and then right Penny rushes to her room in the building as she switches the program back on and seems to be giggling to no tomorrow about whatever she was watching. Meanwhile, Gwen and MJ were currently apologizing to some poor family they almost attacked, as they didn't realize everything was over as they were desperately trying to survive.
Meanwhile, however, all was not calm, as deep inside the raft stood the Punisher, making sure that quite a few, or rather many, criminals had seemingly vanished without anyone being able to tell what happened, given all the chaos that went down when this war started.
The only thing anyone could potentially help them find out what happened here was a giant red skull that was made of someone's blood along with the random bloody letters F, A, R, H, C, S, L, and O. What that means, who knows, but it can't mean anything good, as they were all found next to bodies or markings of something being dragged through blood.
Of course, this left every investigator and police officer stumped as to what happened, as while they had a guess as to who it might have been, last any of them knew, the man was either in hell or somewhere in Mexico, and even if he wasn't, this didn't really fit his MO that much, but it could have also been because of just how hard it was to sneak anything into the raft, so he probably had to use whatever was in the prison for his own brand of justice.
Police Officer: "(Turns around from the blood and looks at singed wheel marks along with a singed outline of someone with plenty of ash beneath them) Now... what on God's green earth could have possibly done this?"
Looking up ahead, there were many similar markings all over the Raft's kitchen and even some markings inside some cells, or what used to be them anyway, as whatever happened in this place, it was hard to call anything in here normal or even safe since most of the criminals here were terrified of what just happened to the point none of them were saying a word.
Police Officer: "Who'd ever think there'd be a day when the worst scum of the world are begging for their lawyers (lights up a cigarette) and, in some cases, a freaking priest?. I mean, I'm not that sad to see them go, but it's still our job to protect these "people" as best we can."
The man throws his cigarette through one of the tiny, slanted windows into the waters below as he goes on to continue questioning all the remaining inmates since these crooks were most likely the people responsible for all the security guards found dead all over this place.
As the officer's partner clacks away, a certain man with an eyepatch is getting the same information from one of his many allies, shall we say, as he goes around the building making sure everyone's doing their job along with making sure everything's working as it should.
Nick Fury: "Damn it, people! (slides down some random ladder) Where the heck is our new recruit!?"
Meanwhile, Jake was getting ready to leave, but his sister was crying harder than she's ever possibly done before as she tried to get her brother to stay with all of them, as they just got back to New York a few hours ago.
Jake: "(Gently strokes his sister's hair) Hey, don't worry, I'm just going to be gone for a little while."
Hailey: "LIAR! YOU'RE GOING TO BE GONE ALL SUMMER AND POSSIBLY EVEN LONGER!"
Jake: "(Angrily stares at his parents for a bit) Yeah (rubs the back of his neck), well, I was offered a really good job that'll help train me in areas that I feel I'm really lacking. I mean, they also pay really well so that when I get back, I can get you anything you want... is that okay with you?"
Haley: "(Sniffs and rubs her eyes as he runs over to her brothers and kisses his forehead as best she could while tipping at the tip of her toes before blowing snot on him) Fine, but you best promise me that I can get anything I want!"
Jake: "Well, within re-"
Haley: "WHAT. EVER. I. WANT!"
Jake: "(Gently smiles as he gently strokes his sister's hair once again) Not in your life, you little brat. I know for a fact that I could get a billion dollars a day, and you'd still somehow find a way to get me in debt."
Haley just giggles as she quickly forces the happiness away from her face and tries to will herself to cry so hard that her face starts to turn red and thankfully only stops once she needs to breathe.
Haley: "Make sure to stay safe, okay? I mean, you're not the best person in the world, but sometimes you'll do if needed."
Jake: "Wow, (pretends to get shot) okay, so when did my sister get such a sharp tongue and cold heart?"
Haley: "I learned from TV. and by hearing you and that friend of yours talking on some game."
Jake: "(Rustles his sister's hair as he gets up) Well, just be safe while I'm gone and—"
Haley: "Don't worry, I'm the prettiest girl in the world! If anyone tries anything on me, I can just get some rando to sacrifice themselves for me!"
Jake and his parents just stare at Haley for a bit as none of them know if she's joking or if she truly means what she says. Either way, however, it wasn't something any of them wanted to stay a part of and possibly mess up Haley's future.
Jake: "Well, anyway, can you promise me that you'll at least try and make some friends while I'm going to be gone for a bit?"
Haley: "Don't worry, I'm sure all your friends would just love to know what you're really like without you being around to stop me."
Before Jake can say or do anything else, Haley throws some handmade, very cheaply made necklace at her brother, who quickly pockets the cheap jewelry and smiles as he gently rubs his thumb across it.
Quickly giving each of his parents a hug, Jake gently places his spare key in the key bowl, grabs his bag, and then walks right through the front door. Rushing off towards where no one was going to see him, Jake quickly changes into his armored form and starts flying in the sky straight towards the Helicarrier.
Jake: "Did you text everyone else?"
Ekaj: "Yeah, already done with everything, but the only one to even say anything was Penny, but before sending whatever she typed, she kept deleting it before eventually giving it another try. I give her about a week before she either mans up and sends it or chickens out."
Jake: "Well, I can safely say that this is going to be a very productive and interesting six months."
Ekaj: "Especially if there's a female assassin. I mean, I'm you, and you and I both know we'd much rather have someone hot, single, and female teach us compared to some guy."
Jake: "I really don't care."
Ekaj: "LIAR!"
Jake: "(Rolls his eyes at himself) Sure it'd be nice, but I don't care overall; I just want to get this over with and become a man."
Ekaj: "Worthy of keeping a small harem of everyone you love. Yup, you and I are on the same page, man. Nothing's better than coming home from a long day and knowing you have more than one woman who misses you and is ready to help you 'relax' from all the tension you built up."
Jake: "Okay, why is it that you were first kind of evil and are just not a pervert?"
Ekaj: "(Quickly appears in front of Jake) I don't know; you tell me. After all, I am (imitates a ghost as he slowly starts vanishing) yoooouuuu."
