The Nightmare Wizard

Chapter 120: Problems

The day passed quickly in the library. William finally finished copying all the spells from the first floor, spending over 200,000 Black Rock points. Unfortunately for him, merely knowing them wasn’t enough; he had to practice them, but he had left that part for when he was in the other world, even though they still hadn’t found a solution to emptying his gray energy without attracting attention to return quickly.

On their way to class with Lia, the school looked exceptionally lively, unlike the previous days. They walked in silence through the Black Rock corridors until they reached the Meditation and Mana Control class. This subject, though considered fundamental, was known for its harshness. It taught techniques to mold and control the flow of internal mana, as well as its channeling through magical circuits. The class was held in a circular room, without desks, with meditation circles engraved on the floor. In this place, no one was allowed to sit, and the teacher was widely known for deeply despising normal people. Some say a commoner stole her fiancé, though no one dares to ask her directly.

The instructor was already waiting for them. She was a middle-aged woman with a cold gaze and hair pulled back in a bun as tight as her face. She wore a combat suit rather than a robe, and her name resonated like a sentence among the students: Professor Dreya Vollenhart.

"You’re late," she said without raising her voice, but with a blood-chilling tone.

"Teacher, there are still 15 minutes until the start of your..." William tried to say.

"In my class, arriving less than 30 minutes early means disrespecting me. It means you don’t respect me. If you don’t respect your teacher, how do you expect to progress, you damned commoners? You never learn manners, just a bunch of wasted resources." The teacher slowly vociferated curses as if whispering, but with enough volume for everyone in the room to hear her.

"Thank these commoners for the surprise test. One by one, you must show me a spell. Speed, damage, and the ability to recreate it will be evaluated. Whatever spell you show me, you must repeat it non-stop 10 times. Is that understood?!"

Everyone in the room nodded, but Lia just cowered, trying to hide behind William to avoid becoming the teacher’s target.

Murmurs quickly arose but died down as soon as Dreya raised an eyebrow.
