Chapter 136: A Goddess’s Growing Frustrations
The silence was killing me, and his gaze seemed muddled.
Hah… If you’re angry with me, yell at me already!
On the side, Eli locked the door before Loki undid his shirt.
Huh?!
Bewildered, I gazed at him from the bed as I couldn’t figure out what was running through his mind.
“Remi said I had to fire you and that she doesn’t trust you or my feelings about you.” Loki huffed.
Oh, this isn’t about me stepping on you.
“Well, you already knew that.” I fix myself on the bed, only to find myself pinned on it a second later.
He had straddled me by my waist before I even realized what had happened.
Your speed is unfair!
“Hah… Letting you go isn’t something I’m willing to do. No matter how abusive you can be.” He growled, leaning into me and kissing my neck.
A gasp left my lips as I gripped onto his undone shirt.
Rem didn’t like my stunt, but you were talking about marriage! A mortal ceremony full of splendors and involving everyone we care about. No… I just can’t… The bond is enough.
“Well, it’s not like you didn’t know who you rolled into bed with.” I licked my lips in anticipation of his touch.
Though he pulled away from me, gazing at me with hurtful eyes, prompting my heart to drop.
Huh?
“Oh, love, I fell in love with you the moment I saw you.” He confessed, pinning my hands on the bed.
Wait! Do you mean when you first met me as a book or in the lineup of maids?!
That thought quickly drained out of me when he flashed his fangs as Eli slid into the bed with us.
“And that little sadistic attitude you put in is your way of handling embarrassment. You don’t like to feel vulnerable, even though I know I make you feel that way.” He smirked, eyes glowing slightly. “The way you open up to me is adorable. I can’t get enough of it.”
“I…” I mumbled, unable to answer him fully.
Nothing of what he had said was wrong, yet I couldn’t openly say it either—something he didn’t need me to do.
In response, he narrowed his eyes, leaning into my ear. “Hey, take away the spell in your womb,” Loki whispered, setting my heart ablaze.
You can’t be serious!? I-I must have misheard you. Surely…
“W-what?!” I yelped, locking sight with that blue, purplish gaze of his.
You…
“I want you to bear my child.” Loki declared.
Eh?! Have you lost your marbles?!
I could barely keep up anymore, even though I didn’t know what was said to him when the door closed. This wouldn’t stand.
“Are you crazy!? We can’t have a kid! We barely know each other!” I snapped, prompting his eyes to widen as his grip on my hands tightened.
That was the sole reason his face had no marks.
“The bond we currently have is already bad enough! And now you want to bring a child into this mess!?” I scowled, triggering a sigh to leave his lips.
“Argh! I know! I just…” He trailed off, leaving my heart thumping loudly and uncontrollably.
Stupid boy… You…
Luckily, his grip eased a bit, allowing me to escape his hands, as I cupped his cheeks, gazing at him straight on.
You’re a fool if you think Rem can take you away from me. That boat has sailed… way before she even knew it was going.
“Calm down, we can’t be separated no matter who wants it.” I simpered.
That’s right… Even though I wished to leave your side quietly, with this bond… I… No… It’s not the bond but my heart.
Even if the Amor Aeternum would not let us go, I couldn’t let this soul be without me.
“I know… I’m angry she doesn’t listen to me or to anyone. I wish she would understand me, too.” He let himself fall onto the bed next to me, as I quickly nestled myself in his chest, which had become my favorite place to be.
Even silent Eli slithered by my legs.
“That’s just how Rem is. It isn’t bad, though. She loves you. She’s your mother, Loki, and no one can take that away from her either.” I reassured him, remembering Edna’s words.
I… Wish I could remember you, too.
Changing the hybrid’s views after everything that happened wouldn’t be easy, since we did take important people from her: Vera, Leonard, and Ben. These were empty spaces in her heart that were gone forever.
“How can you defend her when she’s being that unreasonable?” He huffed, wrapping one of his arms around my waist.
“Because I understand her. All she wants is to protect you, something I can relate to.” I giggled, trailing my hand down his exposed skin.
Rem and I shared that feeling, and it would probably be the one thing that united us when the time came.
That’s right, even though I can’t say it so openly, our love for you is true. Hers as a mother and mine as… a lover. Who knew so many different types of affections could exist?
“I’ll end up hating her if she does something to you.” His voice sounded so broken when he said that.
Instinctively, I lifted myself off his shirt and gazed at him, prompting his blueish-purplish eyes to meet mine quickly.
“No, don’t say that. She’s your mother, and that isn’t something you can throw away! No matter what!” I huffed, scowling at the vampire who winced.
Although she did not give birth to him, she raised him since he was orphaned. The love she gave him wasn’t one I could replace, which was why I had planned to leave him behind.
“You’ll take my heart with you. It’ll be the same as killing me!” His words replayed in my mind.
While I exist… Hah… I never once thought about who this girl would’ve been if I hadn’t been placed in her. Urgh… Crap… I feel like a leech if I put it like that. Hey… Why do you love me so much, Loki? Do you really not see the monster I am?
“I know,” He breathed, pulling me into his chest, where I snuggled with him, unsure of how to proceed from where we were at.
Though there was one thing I could try.
“Hey, should we shower before or after making love?” I mumbled, feeling my cheeks burn after calling it what it was.
My vampire tugged away from me with a smirk on his lips.
“Making love? Not calling it fucking today?” He teased.
It took everything in me not to take it back. However, my cheeks wanted to fall off while his were rosy.
“No,” I grumbled, attempting to be honest for once.
In response, he placed a light kiss on my lips, leaving me yearning for much more.
“Adorable… shower first, then I’ll hold you in the bed until the night becomes morning again.” He declared, catching me off guard.
“Huh? Alone?” I mumbled, part of me wishing to start the entire thing in the bathroom.
“Yeah, I have to ask Oz something. I won’t be long, and Eli will be here with you while I’m in the other room.” My vampire said, gazing towards the door to his brother’s room.
I could not help but sulk again.
“He can’t get in the shower with me, though.” I frowned.
The day before had been so hot in the bathroom that I desired a redo, yet if Loki wasn’t there, then it meant no sex in the tub.
“I can’t? I can try and—” Eli started, only for Loki to grab the snake by its mouth.
“You can’t.” He growled, eyes shimmering.
“Huh?” I mumbled, staring at the two.
Letting go of Eli, Loki rolled his eyes at his unspoken conversation before suddenly pulling me by my waist toward him. My back hit his chest, before he drew my chin up to meet his lips, allowing a short moment of affection to erupt before he tugged away.
“I’ll pleasure you thoroughly once I come back, Vivi.” He smiled, heading for the door to his twin’s room.
Did I just get rejected? Argh… I don’t like how this feels!
“Fine,” I grumbled, heading to the bathroom.
There was nothing else I could do. I mean, I could’ve dragged him in there with me, but in the end, I ended up having a warm shower alone before coming out to see the room was still empty. Utter disappointment flooded my every sense before I threw myself on my bed, cursing him under my breath. Eli was quick to join me, yet unlike Loki, he lacked the organs to make me feel pleasure.
A soft sigh left my lips as I gazed at Eli. “Where is he?”
“Oh… Well… Rem is in there with them.” He informed, lifting his head off the bed.
Well, that explains why Loki is missing on the sex. Argh! I give up! I can’t win against her this way!
