Fractures of Eternity

In an instant, the air around us felt lighter as my heart felt fuller thanks to this playful vampire, who had become the source of my devotion.

“Well, it’s a good thing I don’t care I’m being fair or not.” He chuckled, touching my cheek.

“Of course, you don’t, but fine, that’ll be for another day.” I rolled my eyes, shifting my gaze to Eli for a moment before allowing myself to fall onto the bed with him.

Tugging me close to his chest, he hummed, “Hm… is it for another day?”

“Yes… There’s a more pressing matter.” I sighed, closing my eyes for a few seconds before pointing toward the alarming next hurdle that stood in our way. “What are we going to do about Eli? He’s a freaking white now!”

For a moment, Loki gazed at his other half before cocking his head. “Uh…” he seemed to be at a loss for words, prompting me to sit up on the bed.

It triggered me to sit on the bed.

“Don’t, uh, me! When Rem sees him, surely she’ll figure everything out!” I grumbled, crossing my arms while my eyes twitched.

Although all of this was my fault, I couldn’t help but scowl at my loving vampire while fighting the desire to pull my hair out of my skull, which would’ve made my lingering headache worse.

“Argh… Forget it. Sleep with me. We’ll watch a movie or something to get your mind off it.” Loki urged me, patting the bed—a tempting offer if I didn’t feel like the world could end at any moment.

“N-No! You’re trying to calm me with those new powers you’re getting, and I refuse!” I huffed, eyes twitching.

I was hoping to see a surprised expression, but instead I saw a sly smile rise on his lips.

“Hah, is that what I have been doing?” He chuckled, triggering my entire body to steam.

You… You aren’t innocent!

“You knew?!” I yelped, turning fully to face him.

He grabbed onto my hips again, pulling me close to him, as it appeared we were both insatiable. Though his deep blue eyes captivated me, the purple ring in them stood out more.

“I told you I remember bits and pieces. I can’t control it completely, but I used it earlier without knowing. I felt your anger drain through my fingertips.” He breathed, pressing his lips on my cheek.

“Don’t use it on me again!” I growled.

“I didn’t even know until after.” He assured, yet before I could say anything, he cackled again. “You know, somehow I always manage to read people easily. I thought it was intuition. Then you came along, and were so hard to read at times, it was why you were so interesting at first.”

He pressed his hand on my cheeks, and in an instant, I felt this calming aura.

Hah… No wonder you always know what I need. All those times you let me do as I pleased with you while I was terrified, it was because you felt what I did. What an incredible cheat you are.

This time, I didn’t pull away from him.

“What do you mean?” I mumbled, leaning into his touch.

This isn’t something I mind if it’s you.

“You’re the first girl to not fawn over me as I walked by. Though now you do.” He teased, pulling away from my cheek.

In an instant, my emotions took a turn as he smirked while I pounced on him, pushing his arms onto the bed.

You’re always so full of yourself!

“I don’t! In fact, I don’t even like you!” I huffed, holding him down.

A blatant lie, yet he let me do as I pleased.

“You’re so dishonest. Not that I mind it.” He shook his head, before focusing back on me, “Just so, you know, you’re the only one I want drooling over me.”

There was no taking him off this horse. However, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes before placing them on the white snake next to us.

“Argh, you’re so infuriating.” I huffed, pointing towards the familiar. “Eli… can I dye your scales or something…” I trailed off, releasing a sigh..

The snake tilted his head, “But my eyes, you can’t dye them too.”

Biting my lip, I reached for him as in an instant he came to me, shrinking in size until he was a plushie in my arms.

“I can certainly try. You’re immortal while in this plane after all.” I mumbled.

Even though that was what came out of my mouth, I would do nothing to hurt him.

Loki playfully caressed my thighs, dragging my gaze back towards him. “Hey, do you think Oz’s link changed, too?”

Eh… Oh… We’re screwed!

Of course, I hadn’t thought of my other link.

“I-I hope not! The last thing I need is a white cat to deal with, too!” I threw Eli to the side of the bed as I realized my brooch was still missing.

“Huh?! Where’s my brooch?!” I soon followed with.

However, the moment I gazed at Loki, he appeared unimpressed. In his hand was the item I had been missing that Eli had gone to get earlier, before he placed it on my PJs.

“Are you done losing it over little things, love?” he asked.

How can you be this calm?! Everything can fall apart in seconds! If Rem finds out, I’ll… Ah… You’re looking at me like everything will work out! How?!

“No, Loki, I’m not!! I can’t use my magic! Not only that, but I linked you in the worst way to me!” I became erratic again.

In response, he sat up before pressing his lips to mine, and as he did, I felt all the anxiety melt away. However, the moment itself was a heavy one as his tongue quickly slipped into my cavity, heating me differently. When he tugged away from me, I couldn’t help but feel beaten again when that sly smile shone brighter than ever.

Argh… I want to erase it.

Yet I had no more energy in me. My eyes were getting heavy, too.

“Okay, Okay… I… I’m done, so stop using your new magic on me.” I sighed, prompting him to chuckle.

“Mhm, then come to my arms. We’ll figure this out together later.” He simpered, as I allowed myself to fall next to this boy who owned my entire heart.

“Is this how you were in your other life, too?” I grumbled as he tugged me toward him, allowing me to lie on his chest, and I quickly found comfort in the rhythm of his heart.

“I wouldn’t know. I can’t remember everything, but I guess I could’ve been.” He shrugged, holding me closer. “Grandma says no soul is ever alike, even in rebirth, but then again, they can have similar qualities too. Though remembering won’t change your new personality, so I won’t change.”

“Huh… I find that hard to believe.” I breathed, snuggling into his bare chest.

Then again, my rebirth differed from theirs, as Edna had merged my soul into this body before it had a chance to acquire one, while his body was fused by the goddess of rebirth, leaving Elias a part of him.

“Hm, you were more innocent in your book form, I think.” He hummed, prompting my eyes to twitch.

“I wasn’t!” I growled, feeling feisty again, yet the moment my eyes met his, his lips crashed into mine.

Eli cuddled behind me when Loki separated from our moment.

“Come, let me make you forget all that happened.” He murmured lovingly.

I shook my head. “No… Just hold me tightly for what’s left of tonight. Please?” I mumbled, slipping already.

His calming touch was too much.

“As my princess wishes. I love you, Vivi.” Loki cooed, cuddling me.

The next moment, I found myself in a peaceful slumber—one that I wouldn’t wake up from until the following afternoon, which would be another moment of what this chaotic life had become. For now, my dreams were my peace while I slept next to my beloved vampire.
