Chapter 94: A Surprise for A Goddess
The next time I opened my eyes, I was on Loki’s bare chest, while Eli was on my back. My prince, though, was browsing through his phone, rather than resting, yet the moment I noticed the time on the screen, it was way past noon, which meant we were late.
“Crap! Why didn’t you wake me?” I mumbled, struggling to get up.
“Hm… because I don’t want to be at the ball at all?” Loki sighed, following me.
“T-That doesn’t change. You have duties as the crown prince. Plus, your family’s there.” I sighed, feeling a bit lethargic, which was probably because I hadn’t eaten in hours, yet there would be food at the festivities.
“Vivi, Lexi called and said he could be there later.” Eli intercepted.
Loki growled at him. “Now, that doesn’t change the fact I don’t want to be there.” He huffed.
I scowled, “Hey…”
Ignoring me, the snake focused on his other half.
“Hm? Why don’t you say the real reason you don’t want to be there? I’d much rather see her sleep, too.” Eli snickered.
“Argh… You both are creeps,” I mumbled, sitting up, only to feel how unstable my legs were when I went to stand up.
Uh… Will I survive tonight?
Shaking my head, I went to shower as Loki happily followed a wobbly me into the restroom. There, we made out for a while before he finished the hot shower. If I had turned him into a kissing monster because of what I had done before this, it was on me. However, I didn’t mind the extra affection that came from him, which only ended once we got out of the bath.
Once cleaned, I brushed my wet hair on my bed, while my prince went to his side of the room. I had nothing but my maid’s dress to wear to this event. In fact, I wasn’t even supposed to attend it, yet Loki wouldn’t go without me, which Oswald helped with by ensuring we could be at the party either working or as a guest—something the king didn’t want to deal with thanks to his awful demeanor. After finishing my hair, I went to look for comfortable underwear when Eli brought the box Oz had this morning, reminding me of this morning’s blunder.
A sigh left my lips, but I quickly shook it off, sitting down next to Eli. “What’s this?” I asked him, tapping the delicate container.
“Open it. We picked it out for you to wear tonight.” Eli smirked.
“Hah? When?” I quipped.
I hadn’t seen them go into any women’s store, even when we went out to the shops with his brothers.
“Online,” Loki announced from his side of the room.
“How did you even get my measurements?!” I snapped at them both.
“I’m good with them.” Eli’s words triggered something to snap within me.
“Oi, snake… go in a hole and die there.” I scoffed, throwing Eli off the bed, which prompted him to snicker.
“You’re so cute, Vivi. Just look at how red your cheeks are.” The familiar continued to cackle.
“Dumb snake and vampire,” I added in a mumble.
“Jokes aside, I want to know everything about you, Vivian.” He confessed, prompting my heart to stop and gaze at him as pangs rose in my chest.
Hah… Would you say those things if you knew?
“Stop moaning about it. I’m sure you’ll love it. When we saw it, we both thought it was so you.” My prince cackled, readying himself on the other side.
Thanks to his words, I caught myself rolling my eyes and gazing down at the box.
Don’t you realize I’m your ‘servant’ to everyone else? Stupid…
“I don’t know if I can accept this. I’m not royalty, you know.” I argued.
“Says the—” he trailed off to tease.
I quickly bit into the bait.
“Fine! Shut it!” I grumbled, opening the box only for my heart to drop the moment I saw the contents inside.
Eh…?
Inside, there was a neatly tucked dress, which was jaw-droppingly beautiful. It was deep indigo blue, from the bottom to the top, as the abdomen and chest areas had silver-white splashes on them, while it dripped to the sides in the shape of a flower. The fabric was something I had never felt before, since it was fluffy and in the shape of a blossom flower. By the end of the dress, multiple butterflies were splashed in white and blue, which made it resemble a starry sky as they popped out at me. It also covered my back and arms, as the sleeves also had the same pretty winged insect, but smaller than the ones by the skirt of the piece.
The bosom of the dress had a modest cleavage showing, yet it complemented the wearer’s body, ensuring to show off their beauty. The entire thing left me in awe and appeared expensive.
“Like it?” Eli whispered into my ear, prompting me to feel something that I couldn’t hold onto.
How can you see this and think of me? I’m not a normal girl. I’m… a monster.
“This is me? Are you crazy? I can’t be this beautiful.” I whimpered, barely holding it together anymore.
Why are you trying so hard? Please… Stop. I’m not pure!
When I saw Tania, I desired nothing else but to murder her for taking Nene away from me. The only thing that stopped me was my current situation, not because I loved him.
“Vivi,” He breathed, as the tears soon started to flow out of me, while I gripped onto my arms tightly.
Instantly, Loki came from his side of the room and hugged me. A gorgeously fancy white blouse covered his upper body, while his obsidian black pants and jacket had golden decorations on them, though they were mainly undone, and I was still in my underwear. A soft hum escaped him as his lips met mine, sending me tumbling onto the bed, with him on top of me, ensuring my comfort when his heat enveloped me. However, it was a brief kiss, which allowed me to melt in those vibrant eyes of his soon after he drew away.
“You’re the most beautiful person I know, Vivian. Now, try it on and make me lose my mind whenever another man looks at you tonight.” Loki simpered, rubbing his nose with mine.
Too loving, why…
I couldn’t stop the tears that were swelling out of me because of this vampire.
“Stop,” I mumbled, only to be met by his soft lips again for another brief moment.
Tugging away slightly, he simpered. “I’m not stopping. Remember, I promised to make you fall for me.” He gazed at the clock before shaking his head. “If I had more time, I would make you all hot and heavy for me again, but I don’t want anyone else to see you like that.”
“You’re a fool,” I mumbled, as my tears still lightly trailed on my cheeks.
Every time I gazed at my beloved, I saw Elias’s memory.
You… can’t die because of me or anyone else.
“Hm… I want to be a fool for you. Now, kiss me, Vivi.” Loki hummed with a gentle smile on his lips.
I gazed up at him with a slight pout.
You’re unfair, always making me feel on edge. My poor heart is already warm. It’s too ardent, and it’s slowly killing me.
“No,” I sulked.
This boy had already dug himself into my heart in a way I didn’t know if I could ever get rid of. If my memory were uncorrupted and he was Elias, then it would mean they weren’t a simple mortal either.
Entwined souls… Can you be… Can we… No… it doesn’t matter. Even if we’re compatible in the divine aspect, your family isn’t.
Eli snickered at my rejection, triggering Loki to shake his head. “Argh… Fine, I’ll kiss you then.”
I pushed him away before he could.
“No,” I scoffed.
If you do that, I’ll just lose it more,Stupid vampire!
My rough handling didn’t stop him, though; he just smiled at me, melting all my will. Before I knew it, I brushed my lips against his. He spun it into much more than a simple peck, though. His tongue explored my mouth, prompting me to fall back onto the bed, humming under him.
Ah… Why do I ever try to resist this?
