Chapter 92: A Goddess’s Buried Memory
Those words played on a loop in my mind, as I had no one else who would accept me for who I was. Loki’s words and actions showed me he was unique and the only one who would ever see me as a girl, instead of the goddess I was.
“Like I’ll leave you by yourself.” Eli huffed, rolling his eyes.
I scoffed, turning away from him.
“Stupid snake, and idiotic prince, I don’t need you,” I mumbled, voice cracking.
Why is it so hard to push you away? Argh… No matter what I do, you keep coming back for more! What’s worse, the verbal abuse appears to turn you on even more! This is too much for my heart to contain!
A soft sigh left my lips as I clasped my brooch to my chest while Eli slipped through the covers and into my arms.
“Well, know that you’re ours.” He assured me, prompting me to press one of my palms onto his slender cheek.
There, he opened his mouth as my fingertips touched his sharp teeth—ones he had never used against me.
“You’re both so full of yourselves. I don’t know if to find that charming or irritating.” I mumbled, grabbing onto his head before forcing him to lie next to me, before I treated him like he was a giant snake plushy.
“Well, it’s true when I say, I’ll never allow anyone to take you from us.” He reassured me, as I shrugged.
Stupid fool, I’ll be the one removing myself from your lives; no one else will.
“You—” I began, but stopped the moment another headache rose, as a groan left my mouth, wincing as the aches became worse.
It was as if my body was rumbling without me being able to control it.
“Vivi?” Eli whispered, leaning to brush his snout, while I slowly lost my grip on the world we were in.
“El—” I tried to call out, but never finished as I plunged into the memory that wished to arise within me.
“Elias! No! Don’t touch that!” A female yelled from a distance.
“Hm? Why not? It’s just a stupid book. I want to see why Yama’s so hung up on this thing. Midnight said it’s dangerous, and I’ve got a bad feeling.” The one named Elias answered his companion.
“But if he catches you, he’ll hurt you, brother. Let’s just report this to Fenrir. Maybe that will help his mood.” The wary goddess declared.
I could tell they were intruding on someone’s domain, but everything was so blurry that I couldn’t make out much of how they appeared. However, that would change, though, when the two got closer to me.
I’m not scared of Yama. He’s just a big, psychotic bully who is hung up on a past lover. Honestly, it’s pathetic to cause all this chaos over something like that! Elias scoffed at his sister.
“I-I don’t know, we aren’t meant for combat, and he killed Valdios to put Fenrir in his place! His army is growing every day, too. We really shouldn’t be here. I don’t want to join the dead.” The female tried to persuade her brother, but to no avail. “Argh!Look, I want to help our friend, too, but this is too much!”
“Oh, grow up! You chose to follow me here, knowing I was drawn here. There is an incredible sadness coming out of here that I have to do this!” He shrugged, walking closer to me as the previous person who handled me had placed me on a pedestal in a lonely room.
“Elias! We can both be killed because of this!” The girl huffed, following behind him.
Nothing about this feels right! Midnight might want to know anything we find, but for that, I need to get closer. His voice got closer to me.
“Argh… I hope we don’t get screwed here!” The female sighed. “So… what are you feeling?”
“Whoever is in here is in so much pain. I can barely stand it.” Elias answered.
“What? But all I see is the book everyone is going ravenous for! I don’t understand!” The goddess countered.
“Hah… I don’t think this is only a book.” He scoffed. “There’s something… different about it.”
The moment they got close enough, I was finally able to see their appearance, as they both appeared to be relatively young.
Huh? Who… is there?
They both had blue eyes and white hair, but the boy’s face was full of kindness.
“Geez, you’re always a dreamer with your empathetic abilities, but in this case, I think you’ve lost it!” The girl rolled her eyes. “We really need to get out of here.”
“Quiet.” He sighed, reaching to grab me as I felt a shock of electricity jolting through my entire body.
“Please, put me down before he comes!” I tried to warn them, knowing no one could hear my voice.
Yet in those moments, his eyes widened, gazing at me as if I had just blown his mind.
“What?” He muttered under his breath, yet before anything coherent could come from him, a door slammed open from behind them.
“Oh my, what do we have here?” A voice that sent shivers down my spine declared.
“Elias!” The female screamed after being slammed to the floor by another god.
“Silence, Zephyrus, your little twigs won’t help you here.” Her captor snapped at her.
A small whimper left her lips as Elias’s grip on me tightened. His expression wasn’t one of kindness anymore, and once again, I was helpless to stop anything from happening.
“This is blasphemous! All of you should be stripped of your powers! I demand to know what this means. Why can I feel the pain coming from something Yama claims to be an object?!” Elias snarled at the gods in the room.
“Oh, Elias… You are in no position to make any demands.” A red-haired god chuckled, coming closer towards him.
“Please just run! I don’t want to see any more!” I tried to voice, as he shifted his gaze towards me once again.
“Crap… This is… Impossible… A child?” Elias wince as a second later, his knees were on the ground while he held me closer.
A second later, the boy’s knees were on the ground while he held me close to his chest.
“I’m sorry.” He breathed, knowing that this fate wasn’t one he could run from.
Although that didn’t stop the god from beating him to a pulp, with me in his hands.
“Stop, don’t hurt him!” Zephyrus cried, watching her sibling receive the pounding of his life.
“Silence, Yama will decide what to do with your pretty face, flower goddess. As for your brother, well, he’ll probably be sent to the soul cairn.” Her captor snickered, enjoying the beating that he was witnessing.
The poor boy still held me close and was only pried away from his hands once he lost consciousness.
Elias!
My eyes flew open as I launched myself at my vampire, who had arrived seconds before I snapped out of the memory.
“Vivian?” Loki called out, instinctively holding me back as my entire body trembled in his grip.
What was the meaning of that memory? Why did it come to me now, out of all times?! No! I don’t want to think!
Instead of conversing like a normal person, I kissed him, wishing to drown everything in his warmth.
Elias… Zephyrus… Can it… No!
Eli coiled around my body as I made out with his other half, as even though it had come out of nowhere, he didn’t draw away from me before sitting on the bed, and allowing me to do what I pleased with him. He probably hadn’t shaken off Rem and his family, yet there I was, attacking him straight on. Eli was usually silent when Loki was in the room, mumbling my name while I kept his summoner’s lips busy. Lifting his shirt, I roamed his upper body, triggering him to moan into our kiss when I pinched his nipples in between my fingertips.
That was when my prince tugged away slightly as I followed his lips, as the motion caused him to fall onto the bed, with me dragging him back into a feverous lock of your lips. He could barely catch himself, though Eli tightened himself on me enough to stop my pursuit.
The reason… I… I fell in love with the same boy whose death I caused in the first place. Will I do it again? No! I can’t!
“Vivi… You’re going to drown me.” Loki panted for short breaths.
“I don’t mind.” Eli snickered, “But we do need to breathe.
Your voice... No... I can’t!
“Shut up, snake.” My prince snapped at his familiar, who just cackled.
I pressed my hands against his chest.
No more...
“I just want to fuck. Please… let me fuck you.” I pleaded, voice breaking.
Tears threatened to leave me again, a feeling only this soul seemed to evoke in me.
Why now? Why… did I have to relieve that now? I… I don’t…
“And you say I’m vulgar,” Loki smirked, clasping onto my chin.
Maybe it isn’t really you. It can’t be you.
“You’re what I say you’ll be,” I growled, triggering his grin to widen even more.
“And what am I?” Loki asked, playfully wiping my lip with his thumb.
“My toy,” I smirked, crashing my lips into his.
Those would be the last words that left his mouth while I made a mess out of him.
