Fractures of Eternity

Chapter 67: A Goddess’s Bubbling Emotions

After everything that Oz said, I thought Loki would stay away from me to keep the peace, but this twin wasn’t as straight in the head.

“You… aren’t angry I hit him?” I asked, prompting his expression to change drastically.

He shook his head, rolling his eyes. “Nah, he deserved it after antagonizing you like that.” The vampire chuckled, gazing at me with an emotion that I didn’t want to describe, yet it triggered me to clash with his lips.

However, before I could get a good taste of him, he tugged away with a defined smirk on his face.

“I was going to fuck you so hard for what you did earlier in the Café, but… I think I’ll be extra gentle tonight.” He teased me.

I felt Eli slither under my top before popping on my other side between his summoner and me. The vampire’s words tickled me; I couldn’t help but burst out into laughter upon hearing them.

“Pfft… You can go gently? Is that even possible?” I cackled.

This vampire… even though I know I should pull away… that I should be running miles away from you, I… simply… can’t end this affair when it makes me feel like this. Yes… Let’s keep this going so when I have to leave, I can keep these memories with me forever.

After all, loneliness was something that I had to live with for the rest of my life, and this was a brief relief from that. However, a wish that Loki would always need me lingered within me, which was selfish and one that I needed to bury deep.

“Oi, I was very gentle with you the first time we did it,” Loki grumbled, pouting a bit.

His cheeks were pink, while I continued to giggle uncontrollably.

Please… don’t dig yourself into me anymore. I… will want… No… I can’t take you away from your family. That’s a line I can’t cross.

For that, I formed a silly plan while I was in the bathroom, which consisted of making him seem as if he were utterly addicted to me so that it seemed like he was forced to accept me.

My blood… I…

“For a second!” I bit my lip as those moments replayed in my mind.

Suppose this were all a moment for me. It’ll be okay, right? I can enjoy it. Well, if I don’t define it.

“Oi, you little…” Loki appeared ticked off by my laughter, but it soon died when I clashed against his lips.

A feverous kiss followed before I itched for everything this vampire offered. His hand traveled up my back, only to stop there when I drew away from the kiss and slowly turned my body towards him.

“Loki,” I mumbled, reaching for his cheek before trailing my fingertips up to his beauty mark near his bottom lip.

If it wasn’t for his pointy ears or hair, at least I could always identify him from Oswald by this.

My vampire… I’ve saved no one before, but… I’ll do anything to save you. Can I? Hah… even if this is the last thing I do in this mortal realm, I will ensure your future will comprise longevity and happiness.

“Hm?” he hummed.

Even though I couldn’t tell him how I felt in fear of my powers, I could give him everything I was. I would make him desire me for everything my flesh offered, and when the time came, I would use it as an excuse for why he cared for me when everyone came for me.

I know… that… you… No… I can’t accept that. If I do, I’ll never let you go, much like that crazed god Papa told me about.

“I’ve been meaning to ask. Why don’t you drink blood more often? Isn’t that unhealthy for vampires to go long without it?” I asked, shoving the vampire onto the bed before straddling him and resting my head on his chest.

For the time being, I wanted to relish his presence instead of having sex.

“Argh… Why do you ask that?” Loki sighed, alerting me that this wasn’t a pleasant topic for him.

“Curious,” I mumbled, enjoying the rhythm of his heart.

He shook his head, placing one of his arms around my body as the other landed on the back of my head.

“To be honest. I don’t like the taste, Vivi, so I usually take a supplement instead of the real thing. It curves my cravings either way.” He answered with a tone of disappointment in his voice.

The poor vampire was probably expecting hot-blooded sex, yet I was satisfied by doing this first.

You said you’d be extra gentle today. Good!

“Hm? A vampire that doesn’t like the taste of blood?” I pressed my hand against his chest, causing him to release a nervous chuckle as he gazed up at the ceiling.

“Well, if I’m honest… Ever since… Compared to yours, everything tastes dull and nasty. Ever since I was a child, I haven’t been able to drink it as often as I’m supposed to. Sometimes it makes me want to hurl when I do,” He answered.

Ah… That’s because of when… crap…

“I see…” I trailed off, wanting to spend a bit longer in his warm embrace.

The sensation of his chest rising and falling was all that mattered to me. Shivers ran down my spine the moment I remembered when Nene’s lights went out back in that ravine. I didn’t know if he noticed it, but soon after, he traced his fingers down my hair, leaving a trail of tenderness in his wake.

“Can I ask you something now?” Loki asked.

I hummed against his chest, glancing up at him to see his gaze still glued to the ceiling. There, I made the night sky appear again with a wave of my hand, and a slight chuckle came from his lips again while I rested against him. Eli was quietly coiling around us while he rested his head on Loki’s stomach.

“A question for a question,” I whispered, petting the little snake gently on his head, which caused his little eyes to land on me before flicking his tongue against my skin.

“Can you really not remember a thing?” Loki breathed, prompting everything I was feeling to come to a halt.

Hah… Of course.

I closed my eyes, biting my lip slightly. It wasn’t like I didn’t know it would come up again.

“About my life before coming into this body? No… I can’t remember a thing about it.” I snuggled myself into him. “But… I think the spell was too weak to keep them all back. Usually, I’m tormented by night terrors. Though lately… I haven’t had them. Heck, I think I even had a dream for the first time while I slept with you.”

“Huh?” He mumbled at my sudden confession as I rose, ensuring I was straddling him on his hips again. “Vivi, is that why you wanted your bed?”

“Mhm, I feel like when they come back, I… Eh… It doesn’t matter. When I wake up, I have no recollection of them. It just hurts, and at times, I feel like I’m being torn apart by something. Others, I think, I’m thrown away into a dark space without anyone around to hear me.” I let go, knowing this would only end in disaster, but this vampire was the only one who cared enough to understand me.

“Vivi…” He trailed off, going to reach for me when I whisked off my shirt along with my brooch, allowing them to fall on the floor next to the bed.

In response to my sudden exhibition, his hands dropped to my hips, eyes wide open.

This is so wrong, but I… I don’t… want to stop anymore, Loki.
