Fractures of Eternity

Chapter 61: A New Start for A Goddess

The next morning, I woke up thanks to an alarm I had placed, which caused the sleepy vampire to grumble, holding on to me tighter.

A giggle left my lips, “I told you, you’d mind. It’s still not too late to give it up.”

“No,” He mumbled, burying his face into my bosom.

Today would be the day when they would come to install a bed in this room. It was big enough to contain a mini library—one that Oswald would take back to his room if Zoe and Emma got him up. Eli once again helped me get away from his other half’s grip as I picked up the dress I had yesterday, and some stockings Loki bought for me on the way back, before running into the bathroom. The last thing I needed was for someone to come in to see me in Loki’s shirt, whose owner joined me soon after.

Of course, the teasing from the prior night got a little out of hand as I quickly found myself pinned in between a wall and the vampire who craved for me so intensely. Sex was the one thing that would get him up earlier than usual. Peeling off his shirt, off my body, I felt his hands roam me before he squeezed my bum.

“See… I’m not killing you for waking me up early.” Loki smirked, brushing his lips against my neck.

“Pretty close.” I huffed before tugging him up into a kiss.

Though I quickly stopped by pulling on his hair shortly after.

“They’ll be here soon, and this isn’t even the time I need to get up when I must go to Gerta,” I added.

He frowned, rolling his eyes. “Well, I’ll speak to her. So, you don’t have to report to her. After all, you work for me, not her.”

A soft giggle left me when he slowly let me down, as reason seemed to find the little naughty bloodsucker. It would’ve been something if he fucked me before these people came, or worse, if they came while we were in the middle of it. I only took a few steps away before I gazed back at him while he eyed me down like he regretted letting me go.

“Hm… do I?” I asked teasingly.

It prompted the vampire to grab me by my hips, pulling me into him. There, he pushed his clothed length against my bum as I couldn’t help but gaze at him with hungry eyes, too. He smirked, leaning into my ear.

“You’re so lucky. We’re short on time.” Loki breathed.

I hesitantly pulled away from him, trying to steady my heart, before turning to face him.

“Nice try! Unlike you, I have self-control.” I stuck my tongue out at him.

His lips rose in a playful smirk, tracing his hand on my cheek.

“I have it too, you know.” Loki sighed before gazing to the side, leaving me to get ready.

Tomorrow, everything will return to normal.

Once we were ready, the workers who were going to redesign the room came in shortly. Loki had removed the barricade from the door to Oswald’s room, allowing the ill-tempered twin to get his books. From the moment I was in his room, it appeared as if he slept in a library.

“I’m sorry for this.” I sighed, knowing this was probably an inconvenience for him.

“Having vampires hunt after you because your blood’s a little special is more concerning after saving my idiotic brother. So, don’t worry about it.” The twin sighed, glaring at his brother before continuing to move his books.

Huh… Was that what Loki told you to say?

The ill-tempered warlock struggled with his injury sometimes as he winced while Emma and Zoe helped him bring everything to his side. Zephier and Eli were both gazing at everyone’s work from the bed, while a specific witch avoided me like the plague.

“Is something going on?” Zoe asked me, watching the odd behavior as I shrugged.

I couldn’t bring myself to tell her I walked in on her having sex with Oz.

“Who knows?” I sighed, focusing on the task at hand.

It also seemed I wasn’t the only one moving since the other girls were moving to a room across from the princes, which used to be a guest room, but Gerta renovated it for the maids who would serve the twins.

If it weren’t for my special blood, I’d be…

Even without knowing what I was and that I was linked to him, Oz was ready to protect me, too, or so he seemed to be. By the time they set everything up, there was a bed where the bookcases used to be. They even installed a wooden wall to divide the room, leaving me feeling like I would be a normal roommate to this prince. However, there were no doors to separate us or to divide the bathroom we had been sharing.

This wasn’t something the playful vampire minded; if it were up to him, nothing would stand between us.

Not even a bed.

Gerta was there during the beginning but had to leave to serve Asher and his wife. The developments didn’t anger her, but she did seem somewhat interested in how everything came to be. However, she didn’t push for it while Loki was with me. My morning routines would change, too. Instead of having to walk up at dawn to meet Gerta, I would stay in Loki’s room until I had to wake him. Somehow, the vampire’s silver tongue convinced her of what he wanted, assuring her we’d eat together.

By then, everyone in Night City had heard of my heroic moment, which in reality was the most foolish thing I had ever done. If Papa ever knew about it, which he probably did, he would be ashamed of me. Luckily, he wouldn’t come for me unless I called for him.

Everything’s under control, right? I mean… I slept with the prince. There were traitors within my father’s coven, and now half of Night City wants to try my blood, but everything’s fine! Argh… What else can go wrong?

Once everything was done, we headed out with Oz and the other girls to eat while Leo, who was helping in town, met with us there too. I couldn’t help but stare at the two lovers, whom we had caught the night prior, who still bickered, getting on each other’s nerves.

Did I hallucinate it? No… it was real.

At brief moments, I could see her get flustered whenever he got too close to her, which was cute. Her past wasn’t the best, so seeing her happy was a relief. Loki didn’t stay behind when he saw me so entranced by the two that he blew in my ear. It almost caused me to snap at him like I usually did when we were alone, but we weren’t. Instead, I bit my tongue, grabbing onto the playful vampire’s groin while we sat in the Café, who sat next to me.

A soft gasp left his lips, placing both of his hands on the table. Luckily, there was a cloth covering my action from anyone else’s point of view, yet Leo, with his Lycan hearing, was the only one who noticed his brother’s distress.

“Are you okay?” the pup asked, tilting his head, causing everyone’s eyes to fall on the flustered vampire.

His cheeks turned from pink to red as he grabbed onto my hand when I pulled away from him, feeling the eyes stare. The sudden touch caused me to gaze at him, too.

“I-I’m fine.” Loki stuttered to say, shooting a glare my way.

Rolling my eyes at him, I ignored him before speaking to Zoe. “Did you like the cherry soda?”

“Huh? Yes! It was so good! Do you want to try some?” She was quick to answer back.

A heavy sigh left the playful vampire while Eli snickered. After our lunch, we went shopping for clothes with the princes, which granted me an opportunity to get my grip on the elusive witch. There was an almost empty clothing store nearby when I grabbed onto her, pulling her inside. Luckily, the boys were paying attention elsewhere as I took the chance to clear the air between us.
