Chapter 232
At least twenty or thirty girls came rushing over. Some clutched phones, pens, and notebooks, while others carried basic first-aid kits.
Every one of them had a fanatical look on their face, as if they had just laid eyes on the idol of their dreams.
The spectacular scene made Chenyang ask in astonishment, "Is there a girls’ school nearby? Where did all these girls suddenly come from?"
"There’s no girls’ school. They’re fans of this celebrity," Angie said, pointing to the male star beside them.
Chenyang turned to look. The celebrity was frantically brushing the dirt off his clothes and even spat into his hand to smooth down his hair and wipe his face.
’To be honest, the guy was pretty handsome.’
’But considering his personality, it was a classic case of a handsome exterior hiding a rotten core.’
Chenyang shook his head. "I don’t get it. How can a guy that selfish have so many girls fawning over him?"
"Looks are everything!" Angie laughed. "It’s just like you men when you see a beautiful woman—you all get excited and worked up. You can’t wait to rush over and steal a kiss."
Chenyang grimaced. "Let’s get out of here."
"Go?"
"Yeah. You want to stick around and watch the fans have a lovey-dovey reunion with their big star?"
"I don’t like scenes like this."
Angie smiled, then she and Chenyang carried the injured woman toward the ambulance nearby.
The moment they left, the horde of crazed fans swarmed the male celebrity.
"Brother Ji, are you okay?"
"We heard you were in a car crash here, so a few of us sisters came running right away. Oh my god, look, you’re bleeding! I’ve learned how to bandage wounds. Let me take care of it for you."
"Let me, let me! I graduated from a real nursing school! Mr. Ji, I’ll bandage you up. Also, I already called my boyfriend to come over. He can give you a piggyback ride out of here in a little bit."
"Honey, can you sign an autograph for me right now?"
The fans were incredibly enthusiastic—more so than if they were greeting a long-lost family member.
Their voices were loud and their tone was intimate. Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought they’d stumbled upon their own injured husbands.
A few of them even started to cry.
From a short distance away, Chenyang heard the commotion and his lips twitched. "Being a celebrity is pretty great, huh? Look at those girls. If no one else were around, they’d probably be fighting to rip their clothes off and have Brother Ji’s babies."
Angie laughed. "You’re not bad-looking yourself. If you found an agency to brand you, you could probably become a star, too. Then you’d have girls throwing themselves at you."
"Forget it. Being a star might be nice, but you have no freedom. Take this Brother Ji, for example. He was out for a ride with his girlfriend on his motorcycle—he definitely didn’t tell anyone. But the second he gets into an accident, his fans show up."
Chenyang waved his hand dismissively. When they reached the ambulance, he helped place the woman onto a stretcher. After giving a few brief instructions to the paramedics, he and Angie headed off to another area.
As they walked, he asked, "Sister Angie, how is Nana doing? She didn’t see through our lie, did she?"
At the mention of her sister and the act they had put on to deceive her the day before, a faint blush crept onto Angie’s pretty face.
She looked down and replied, "She didn’t. Nana really likes you, and her condition has improved a lot since your treatment."
"That’s good." Chenyang frowned. "Sister Angie, why are you blushing? Are you not feeling well?"
"N-no. If you’re free tonight, you should come over for dinner. Nana wants to see you, and I’d like to thank you properly as well."
"We’re neighbors, and we work at the same hospital. There’s no need to be so formal."
"It’s not about being formal. I really do want to thank you."
’Her gratitude was real, and so was her desire for Chenyang to come over.’
’However, it wasn’t just for dinner or to express her thanks.’
’After seeing Chenyang and Anna’s intimate moment on the surveillance footage yesterday, Angie’s heart had been thrown into turmoil.’
’Anna had noticed her feelings and suggested that the two of them do *that sort of thing* with Chenyang together.’
’Angie had refused at first, but after Anna’s persuasion, she had been tempted.’
’And this dinner invitation was her attempt to create an opportunity to finally break the ice between the three of them.’
Thinking of this, Angie asked shyly, "So, Chenyang, you should come over tonight if you’re free. My cooking is pretty decent."
Chenyang smiled. "Alright. If I’m not busy, I’ll definitely come over. I can give Nana another treatment while I’m there."
"Okay," Angie nodded, full of anticipation. She then pointed to the side. "There are more injured people over by the bus. Let’s go help out there."
"Alright!"
