My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World

Chapter 77: Staring Naked at a Furious Girlfriend

Gianna sat in the chair opposite the bed, robe loosely tied, expression carefully blank.

It was still night, barely half an hour since everything had gone wrong.

The city lights pressed against the window in the same neon patterns as before.

Revien lay exactly where she had left him after rolling his frozen weight off her: naked, eyes open, body locked in the paralysis that had taken him the instant his hand tightened around her throat.

Only the slow rise and fall of his chest and the faint tracking of his eyes proved he was still present.

Her mother had called her to the guild earlier that day before the date.

Jenna had been calm, almost routine, when she pressed a single contraceptive tablet into Gianna’s palm.

"Weaker males have almost no chance of impregnating a ranked warrior," she had said, "but I prefer certainty. You’re young. You don’t need that complication."

Gianna had taken it without argument. The request itself hadn’t shocked her. What unsettled her now was the timing, and the fact that Jenna had said nothing else. No warning. No extra caution about the suppressants she had given Revien.

She looked at the man on the bed.

Revien had never been normal.

From the first day he arrived, everything about him sat outside the usual models: the way his core responded, the mutation he triggered in Rei, the boost he gave her when she kissed.

Him choking her while his eyes went empty didn’t feel like a sudden betrayal so much as another piece of the same broken pattern.

Still, the distinction mattered.

Gianna needed to know whether the hands that had held her so carefully in the car and the hands that had refused to let go of her throat belonged to the same person.

She pulled up her status window.

[Gianna Everheart — Status]

Six months of progress, compressed into a single night.

The numbers were clean and undeniable. After she swallowed him, a second notification had appeared, brief, almost polite.

[Your core has been expanded.]

Core expansion was supposed to be gradual, the result of years of strain, near-death battles, or carefully managed dual cultivation with a high-compatibility support.

It wasn’t supposed to happen because she drank a man’s release in the middle of sex. Yet the message had been clear. Something in him had rewritten part of her foundation in real time.

Gianna closed the window and stood.

She walked to the side of the bed and looked down at him. His eyes tracked her immediately.

There was no emptiness in them now, only frustration, fear, and a silent intensity that made her chest tighten against her will.

"Can you talk?"

No reply. Only the smallest side-to-side movement of his head.

She had decided not to call her mother. Jenna clearly knew more than she had shared. The bracelet, the monitoring patch, the sudden and perfect timing of the lockdown, all of it pointed to preparation.

If Jenna had suspected this could happen, she should have warned her.

The fact that she hadn’t felt like a quiet betrayal of its own.

Gianna sat on the edge of the mattress.

The robe slipped off one shoulder. She left it as it was. She was past the point of careful modesty with him.

"You understand this is complicated, right?"

He gave the same slow shake of his head; whether in agreement or denial, she couldn’t tell.

"I’m not going to give you careful words and pretend this isn’t your fault," she continued, voice even.

"Because it is. You gave me something real, then you immediately tried to take it back with interest. I don’t know if the timing was a coincidence or if something inside you waited for the exact moment I lowered every defense. But I still came out of it stronger. That’s the part that matters for the long term. This relationship was never going to be soft conversations, awkward kisses, and me staying up at night worrying whether you’re about to break. We both knew that."

She reached out and brushed her fingers across his cheek. His skin was warm. The muscles underneath remained completely unresponsive.

"You’re going to tell me what’s happening for real," she said.

"Why it happened. Why your eyes went empty. And why, for the first ten minutes after I pushed you off me, I couldn’t feel my own core at all. It was just... gone. As if someone had reached in and switched it off. That doesn’t happen with ordinary overload. That doesn’t happen with ordinary anything."

Revien’s eyes stayed locked on hers.

She watched the way his pupils reacted to her voice, the tiny shifts that proved he understood every word. The paralysis was physical, not mental.

Whatever Jenna had done, it had severed the connection between his will and his body with surgical precision, but only after the absorption had already begun.

Gianna leaned closer, resting her elbows on her knees.

"This was why I was wary of you. You walked in and started cracking the walls I have built without even trying. I let you. I chose to let you. But I will not be a battery that wakes up one day and discovers the person she trusted has been replaced by something that only knows how to feed. So you’re going to find a way to explain this, eye blinks, slow nods, whatever you can manage, and then we’re going to decide whether the next step is calling my mother, calling Mira, or handling it between the two of us."

She paused, then added more quietly:

"I swallowed what you gave me and my core expanded. That should be impossible. The fact that it happened means whatever is inside you is capable of rewriting people on a foundational level. That is both the most valuable and the most dangerous thing I have ever touched. I need to know if the man who kissed me in the pod is still the one looking at me right now, or if I’m negotiating with the thing that tried to drain me."

Revien’s throat worked once, the only movement he seemed able to produce beyond his eyes. No sound came out.

Gianna sat back slightly, robe falling open further, and studied him with the same focus she used when reading an opponent’s footwork.

"Take your time," she said.

"I’m not leaving this room until I have something real. And if you ever put your hand on my throat like that again without my permission, I will break it. Clear?"

His eyes closed once, slowly, then opened again. She chose to read it as understanding.

She had leveled up. Her core had expanded.

And the cost of both was lying motionless in front of her, eyes full of things he could not yet say.
