Chapter 55: Stripping Down to Teach the Calculus of Restraint
It was a tough decision.
Whatever I chose right now would set the tone for every intimate moment that followed.
If I gave in completely tonight, sex would start to feel normal, expected, just another tool.
Part of me already wanted that. My body was reacting strongly to Jenna’s warmth, her scent, the way her fingers kept moving through my hair.
She had been nothing but direct with me from the beginning. She never softened the ugly truths, and she still made space for the feelings I had toward Gianna.
If not her, then who?
Jenna pulled me into a kiss from the side.
Our lips met slowly at first, more sensual than hungry. For the first time, she wasn’t holding herself back.
The kiss deepened, deliberate and warm.
I broke it just enough to speak against her mouth.
"...I’m sorry."
She didn’t pull away.
"I want to do it with Gianna first," I said quietly.
"That’s the truth."
Jenna kept kissing me. Her grip in my hair tightened, not painful, just firm. When she finally answered, her voice was low and steady.
"Fair enough. How long do you plan to wait?"
"Within eight days."
"And how are you sure you won’t break my daughter’s core and then leave her for other women?"
The question was honest.
I didn’t have a clean answer.
My body had been reacting in ways that often went against what I actually felt. The Succubus instincts didn’t care about timing or promises. They only cared about transfer and growth.
"I will be careful," I said.
"That’s all I can say for now."
Jenna studied my face for a moment, then nodded once.
She shifted, straddling my lap in one smooth motion.
The dark dress parted as she settled her weight on me.
She opened the front further, letting it slide off her shoulders until she was left in a dark bra, her hair falling forward around her face. The city light from the window caught on her skin.
Jenna was extremely beautiful like this, not performing, just present and in control.
"Then I will teach you how to do it carefully," she said.
She leaned in and kissed me again, harder this time. Her hips moved in a slow, deliberate sway that made the contact between us impossible to ignore.
My hands settled on her waist almost automatically. The Succubus core in my chest responded immediately, heat spreading under my skin.
A system chime echoed in my mind.
[High Emotional + Physical Resonance Detected]
[Mana Redirection Loop: Stable]
[Transfer Efficiency: 18%]
[Warning: Full bonding threshold still locked]
Jenna felt the shift in my energy. She broke the kiss just enough to speak against my lips.
"You’re already leaking," she murmured.
"Control it. Don’t push. Let it cycle."
I focused on the redirection technique Mira had drilled into me, pulling the excess energy back into a closed loop instead of letting it flood outward.
The pressure eased slightly, but the heat didn’t disappear.
"Good," Jenna said. Her hips kept that slow rhythm.
"Most supports dump everything the moment it feels good. That’s how cores get strained. You’re going to learn the difference between giving and flooding."
She kissed me again, deeper.
One of her hands slid from my hair down the side of my neck, resting over my collarbone.
The contact made the energy transfer sharpen. I could feel her mana signature responding, older, denser, more refined than Gianna’s or Rei’s.
[Energy Exchange in Progress]
[Target: Jenna Everheart]
[Current Output: Controlled]
[Partner Resonance: Rising]
"Tell me what you’re feeling."
"Heat. Pressure behind my ribs. The urge to stop holding back."
"And are you holding back?"
"Yes."
"Keep doing that." Her voice stayed calm even as her body moved against mine.
"I’m not a cadet you have to rescue mid-fight. I can take more than most. That doesn’t mean you get to be careless."
I let out a rough breath. My hands tightened on her waist. The dark bra and the way her hair framed her face made it difficult to keep the loop stable.
Every small movement of her hips sent another pulse of instinct up my spine.
Jenna noticed.
"You’re thinking too much about the end goal," she said.
"Stop. Focus on the exchange itself. Feel where my mana is open and where it isn’t. If you rush the places that aren’t ready, that’s when damage happens."
I tried to follow her instruction. Instead of pushing energy blindly, I paid attention to the way her core responded, the steady, experienced flow rather than the sharp spikes I had felt with Rei or the cautious openness I sensed with Gianna.
[Mana Redirection: Efficiency increased to 74%]
[New Micro-Adjustment Unlocked: Partner Mapping (Basic)]
Jenna’s breath caught for half a second when the adjustment clicked into place. She didn’t stop moving.
"There," she said quietly. "That’s better. You’re reading instead of forcing."
She kissed me again, slower this time, letting the controlled transfer continue. The room felt warmer. The muted broadcast from Sector 2 continued in the background, distant and irrelevant.
After a while, she pulled back just enough to look at me. Her eyes were darker than usual, but her voice remained steady.
"This is the difference," she said.
"Anyone can dump power and hope the other person survives it. Learning to match the flow is what keeps people alive long-term. Remember this feeling when you’re with Gia."
I nodded, not trusting my voice completely.
Jenna stayed where she was for another moment, still straddling me, still close enough that the heat between us didn’t fade.
Then she slowly eased back, settling her weight more on my thighs than directly against me.
"That’s enough for tonight," she said.
My body disagreed.
The system disagreed harder.
[Transfer Interrupted]
[Partial Resonance Logged]
[Restriction Status: Unchanged]
[Recommendation: Full bonding would yield significantly higher permanent gains]
I ignored the recommendation.
Jenna brushed a strand of hair away from my face.
"You chose to wait for her. That choice only means something if you actually prepare for it. We’ll continue controlled exchanges. You’ll keep refining the loop. And when the eight days are up, you’ll be ready to give her something that doesn’t break her."
