Chapter 127: Relationship Breakdown!
Out inside the store, the five survivors finally woke up to get ready for a new day… with almost everybody’s eyes having dark circles.
Some were for other reasons, but most were due to yesterday night’s fright.
Imagine seeing more and more monsters banging on the glass door for most of the night.
Though there was a magical barrier keeping them out, those trapped inside still worried all night.
What if the barrier couldn’t withstand the attacks and break? What if those death angels find some other way in?
And if external troubles weren’t enough to keep them awake, than the internal breakdown in relationships definitely made it hard to get any shut-eye.
A pig teammate really could drag down the rest. What happened yesterday… the baldie was naturally to blame!
To be honest, Kwan Minhwoo never imagined things would turn out this way.
He merely incited the brute to go be the vanguard. Success or failure, he thought everything would stay under control with the internal traitor Fatty Kim on his side.
But who would’ve expected… the baldie looked like a simple and honest brute, but this brute turned out to be much more ruthless than imagined!
What he can’t get, he’d rather destroy!
To send the adulterers outside to hell, he even put the entire base at risk!
Such behavior… was completely unacceptable.
That ruined their honeymoon harmony and divided their team back into two once again.
But just when they thought things can’t get any worse, that morning, they received another wake-up call…
Clak. Clak. Clak! Clak…
The sound of high heels came from the back hallway…
Everybody at the store front became alert and looked back…
Seeing the uniformed ice queen strutting in, all the men were dumbfounded by her overnight transformation!
At the same time, the clean new uniform made the fire of jealousy burn even stronger in the only other woman’s eyes.
Meanwhile, the baldie froze on the spot like he’s seen a ghost!
Even the others were doubting if they was seeing things! After all, how was it possible that she survived outside yesterday night!
Seeing the ice queen approaching, Kim Sungho was intimidated by her icy vibe and couldn’t help but stutter, “M-miss Yoona? Y-You… how…?”
Chae Yoona gave them a chilling look. “How else? You boys aren’t the only one with special abilities.”
She then breezed past their two-person circle and strutted over to the trio led by the four-eyes.
Facing the approaching woman with arrogance radiating from her bones, Kwan Minhwoo reevaluated her danger once more.
As expected. This actress with many faces was not simple. Most likely, the ability she reported was a lie. And perhaps… even their scheme was a hoax!
Realizing he got played this past week, his face darkened and he sneered. “Miss Chae really knows how to bring us surprises. I wonder if our deals still count?”
“What do you think?” Chae Yoona stopped an arm’s length away from the man and coldly stared back at him, “But considering our former relationship, I don’t mind informing you about one thing.”
“Oh?” Kwan Minhwoo narrowed his eyes dangerously.
“Just yesterday, two outsiders came to pay a visit. Their intentions were very kind. So Lord Steve kindly sent them on their way and that crater... was the result.”
That short announcement alone was enough to horrify the rest!
“Madaraka! That frail-looking fishing prick did that?! How is that possible?!”
Even the four-eyes felt a chill in his heart. What kind of terrifying power could cause such a crater?!
More importantly, it even let them survive out there against a swarm of those monsters?
In his heart, the danger level of that fisherman skyrocketed!
And for high-risk targets like these, he, Kwan Minhwoo, certainly wanted to know more about! And what better person to interrogate than this traitorous double agent in front of them?
It was quite obvious that she left out a lot of detail for them to fill in the blanks!
But regarding such an uncontrollable variable—how can he let her continue to keep things a secret?!
“Miss Chae, mind telling us how exactly Mister Steve did it? We are all very interested to know about his… excellence.”
The more you say, the more mistakes. Chae Yoona certainly wasn’t stupid. “Confidential.”
Looking at that poker face that revealed nothing, Kwan Minhwoo frowned. “Miss Chae, you’re being very uncooperative.”
“And?”
“Picking the wrong side will have consequences.”
Seeing the Miyabitch and the Park dog block her retreat with a sneer, Chae Yoona didn’t take a single step back.
“Between a bunch of cowards that doesn’t even dare take a step out at night versus a strong man who can feed me and put new clothes on my back, even an idiot knows which side to choose.”
“Hurhur. You madaraking bitch. You better cooperate—or else!”
The mad dog cuffed her wrist from behind. Chae Yoona sensed the malicious gaze undressing her, but she merely returned a cold glare.
“I would unhand me if I were you. If you make my lord angry, you won’t be able to bear the consequences.”
“What? You call that a threat?”
Park Insu didn’t know where the weak woman got the confidence from, but he merely scoffed at it, “Do you think that coward—who doesn’t even dare show his face—will come save you?! Hah!”
To that, Chae Yoona showed not a single ounce of fear and even deliberately provoked the man.
“Why don’t we try and see? Even now, he’s watching over me. Just like how he’s been watching over us all along. After all… his eyes—they’re everywhere.”
That was supposed to be provocation, but the way she said it… made a chill run through all of them!
Every move of theirs was being watched? How is that possible?!!
Everybody warily glanced around. If nobody said anything, they might not feel it. But now… they’re getting an eerie feeling all over.
Was there… really something watching them?
Though it was hard to believe… in this supernatural world where the impossible became possible, it was better to believe than not!
