DesertCraft: Fishing Pocket Heaven

Chapter 126: Bolder Approach!

Day 17.

Ding~!

Yu Zhiye woke up to the achievement chime at the start of a new day.

In a daze, he glanced at the popup at the top-right corner of his vision.

[Territory Exclusive Achievement Get! Crisis Prophet]

“???” How did he get an achievement all of a sudden?

Though confused, Yu Zhiye quickly got distracted by a very pleasant feeling coming from his morning wood… an instinct he couldn’t resist took over...

Groaning, he took care of morning business…

“Good morning, manager. I’ve completed your daily health checkup. All signs are green.”

Hearing that very professional tone, Yu Zhiye finally took a good look at his morning wood caretaker…

“???!” One glance and he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him!

Instead of the usual seductress, what greeted him was...

Black stockings, black miniskirt, and a white collared uniform—unbuttoned down halfway to let her skin breathe like the V-neck of her original dress…

The spitting image of a sexy office secretary! The finishing touch was her blank poker face that greatly contrasted with what she just did!

No coy look. No flirty lip-licking. Just a cold, expressionless face like an aloof corporate manager.

It was like she completely changed her persona! So much so he almost didn’t recognize her!

But how could he possibly not recognize this face he sees every morning?

So he swallowed back down his “who are you” and instead asked, “Noona, how did you get that outfit?”

Chae Yoona sat there like a proper secretary and expressionlessly made her report.

“The skin sold. Using the funds, I’ve been setting up buy offers all day and night. This uniform is the first offer that went through. Leftover budget is 15 ISP.”

Hot damn... Yu Zhiye wasn’t too surprised by her clever search strategy.

Rather that that, he’s shocked there are actually players out there with nothing better to do than to sell clothes on the Grand Exchange!

And to think they’ll sell such... professional outfits to pollute society! If he ever finds their store page, he’ll make sure to leave a five-star review!

Ahem. Anyways, what’s bought is bought. No need to think too much. Just enjoy it.

CEO Yu sat up in his hammock and shared a glance with his new secretary. No more words need to be said.

While a gorgeous secretary cleaned up all evidence of their unspoken workplace rule, Yu Zhiye finally took the chance to check on his new achievement.

[Crisis Prophet] Take the lead to nip a calamity of destruction in the bud inside your affiliated territory. (2nd) Title <Newbie Savior>

Yu Zhiye stared at the achievement description and felt a new round of confusion.

Crisis? What crisis? How come he didn’t know?

Round after round of crisis yesterday exhausted him. So after getting unstuck, he crashed for the night and then, the first thing he wakes up to is this achievement! He did literally nothing in between!

Could there have been a bug somewhere?

But bug or not, the award was real.

[Newbie Savior] Awarded to promising candidates who might one day become a real savior. Effect: +100% XP gained when equipped.

Yu Zhiye certainly didn’t believe he was a good guy or that he’ll become a savior of any kind, but that’s one damn fine effect! He’ll take it! Equip!

Now, his status finally got filled out. With his enhanced stats and the new double XP, his journey from here on out will be even more smooth sailing!

Just as smooth as those lips slipping off the mushroom head...

After finishing her duty, the professional secretary threw him a pointed glance and slowly buttoned up her uniform.

Once done, she got up, stood aside, and strictly reminded, “Manager, there’s work to be done.”

Indeed there is.

Yu Zhiye stopped wasting time and started his morning routine.

Collect the emeralds then reset his money generators, change the fish on the cooking rack, share a light breakfast while touring around the much larger territory…

The whole way, his secretary properly followed by his side and naturally, their mouths didn’t stay silent.

“...do it following the second phase of the economy takeover plan we discussed. But you can take a bolder approach.”

“It’s better to be lowkey, but the strong won’t negotiate with an ant. We need to assert our dominance, or they won’t hesitate to run over us.”

“Manager, how far am I allowed to go?”

“Eyes, storage, my solo takedown of those invaders. Embellish those as you see fit. Just try to keep things mysterious, enough to intimidate them.”

“Remember. The bottom line is to keep our real secrets hidden, especially about this dimension.”

“Understood.”

“Oh right. As for the mysterious card you said they found… if you can get it, great. If not, it’s fine. No need to force things.”

One charted out the changes to their company vision, the other mentally took notes and got ready to head out.

“Manager, I’ll be going now. I’ll come back to report if there’s any changes.”

“Go. Stay safe. I’ll cover you if you’re trapped.”

Yu Zhiye sent his secretary off in full uniform. That’s far from being lowkey, but there’s really no need to hide much now that things have come to this.

Since he was no longer trapped in their little sphere of influence, he can take a much bolder approach to things now.

Because even if they figure that something is wrong, what can they even do?

Imprison his secretary to force him out? With a spare door that could be anchored anywhere near his secretary, they can try!

Kill his spokesperson? Do they dare? If they do, just clean their necks and wait to face the real horror!

So Yu Zhiye wasn’t worried at all. Now that there’s nothing binding him, the initiative was completely in his hands!

The only downside to all this… was that he can’t easily show his face. Which meant he had to hole up in this hideout and wait for the threats to leave before going fishing.

“Sigh~ that’s an hour or two of fishing wasted.”

That said, the flip side of that coin means there’s extra free time to work on this base.

Move out the sand in the pond? Start tilling the land? Build a sand table to map out the caves? Manually craft wooden furniture?

Lots of possibilities, but all those got shelved when he arrived at the Roman-styled library-like structure out back.

To Yu Zhiye’s surprise, the furnace inside has returned to idle mode! That means… the creeperfish he tossed in yesterday got digested!

“Cool, cool. Wonder what surprises are waiting for me here?”
