The Extinction Healer of the Beast Husbands

Chapter 40: Ch 40. Selena’s Messages

"Your Majesty, if we kidnap his family, the Green Traitor will fight back, and war will definitely break out. That’s not the right thing to do—you must avoid it," said Brok, shaking his head vigorously.

Stevan gave a small smile. "That could happen if he finds out who kidnapped his family, but he might not necessarily accuse us right away," Stevan said casually, and that made Brok think for quite a while.

"So... you don’t want the Green Traitor to know that we’re the ones who kidnapped his wife and child, but you still want to kidnap them? What exactly is your game, Your Majesty?" Brok asked, making Stevan smile slightly.

"The Green Traitor is a pretty formidable dragon warrior. I don’t know what the real issue is that made him decide to become a traitor to the Dragon Clan. But I’m sure it’s not an internal matter, because you know yourself that we’ve never had any problems with him. The fact that he suddenly became a traitor and gathered his group is very suspicious," said Stevan as he stood up and looked at the map of the Dragon Clan’s territory on the large table.

Brok followed him, looking at the area of their territory that Stevan was observing. Stevan pointed east, then smiled at Brok.

"I don’t want them to take over this eastern region; otherwise, the sunlight that should rise so beautifully from there won’t be enjoyed by a single member of the Dragon Clan. And, since I can no longer use the Dragon Core more than seven times, not fighting him is what I must do. To deal with a stubborn dragon like him, a different approach is needed."

Brok was silent for a moment, thinking hard but still unable to grasp what his King meant. This made Stevan sigh heavily, then wave his hand, motioning for Brok to come closer.

Stevan whispered to him, causing Brok to widen his eyes in surprise before nodding in understanding.

"Are you sure this will work?"

Stevan shook his head slowly. "I don’t know, but there’s no harm in trying. Since my current condition doesn’t allow us to fight him," he replied casually. "Let’s try it first and see how it goes. After this, I’ll talk to Selena and ask for her help."

Brok nodded in understanding, then bowed his head. "I’ll take my leave to carry out the plan you mentioned earlier, Your Majesty."

"Go ahead, take the elite dragon troops with you. Make it look as natural as possible so he doesn’t get suspicious."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Stevan watched his assistant leave, then leaned his head back and closed his eyes calmly. He couldn’t use the Dragon Core—if he used it more than seven times, he’d turn to stone—but that wasn’t a problem right now.

At least he could still use his wits to keep the palace and his group under his control.

"What else can I do to persuade Selena?"

Selena saw the fruits Stevan had sent as soon as she woke up. Her expression was serious as she examined the varieties and looked at Vee.

"It’s so unusual for him to send me fruits, and these are rare ones, too."

Vee shook her head slowly. "I don’t know what the Dragon King’s intentions are either, Your Majesty. But it seems like there’s something he wanted to say, but since you were asleep, he didn’t end up coming in," said Vee, causing Selena to sigh and get up.

Selena knew, of course, that aside from Dorven, her other four husbands were quite impatient. Selena also understood that their problems were quite serious, and now she was trying to find the best way to heal them through an intermediary.

Because if she had to have sex with them, she wouldn’t be willing to do it either. If there were no connection and no benefit for herself, Selena would never even consider having sex with them.

"These fruits have properties that can boost energy and strengthen the immune system," Selena said after cutting open one of the purple fruits.

Selena stared at the fruit’s flesh, which looked incredibly tempting and soft, but as she looked closer, she could clearly see that these fruits were grown on the border of the Dragon Clan.

There was turmoil there, as well as a faint black aura. Selena furrowed her brow as she saw flashes of shadows that looked like riots and battles. Meanwhile, on the far side, slightly out of view, Stevan was hiding in fear, watching the destruction unfolding before him.

Just as Selena was about to approach Stevan, the scene suddenly snapped back to the present, where she was examining the fruit she was cutting open.

"Your Majesty, are you daydreaming? Your Majesty?"

Vee’s voice sounded faint, causing Selena to take a deep breath. She placed the fruit on a small plate, then held her head, which had suddenly started to ache a little.

"New signs? Just like what I saw yesterday when Vylen was almost poisoned by his father, now I also see that something quite serious is about to happen to Stevan and his realm. Is this a sign that I should help heal him and take care of his problems too?" Selena muttered, then let out a heavy sigh.

A war is about to break out in the Dragon clan, though Selena doesn’t yet know for sure who started it. It’s just that, in the royal world, royal intrigue and power struggles are bound to be the main issues.

Who else would start this war if not someone who resents Stevan’s power? These foolish kings apparently have unusual problems; Selena didn’t understand why she was being dragged into this when she used to live in the human world under a presidential system.

Selena didn’t really understand this kind of royal world, but she was forced to understand it and even get directly involved in it.

"Your Majesty, what are you thinking?" Vee asked as she watched Selena move slowly.

Selena shook her head slowly. "Get my clothes ready; I want to see Stevan for a bit. I’ll take care of John tonight, and see Vylen again tomorrow. Hopefully Stoner won’t cause any trouble tonight by leaving his room during the full moon—I can’t split myself into multiple people to look after them like babies," Selena said, sounding exhausted.

If Stoner were to do something against the rules, Selena wasn’t sure if she’d be able to save his memories again.

"Your Majesty, just give me a message to pass on to the Wolf King, and I’ll deliver it to him right away. I just received a report from Mr. Coxy that the Fox King is out visiting somewhere; once you’re awake, he’ll come by after he returns. It doesn’t look like there’ll be enough time left—you should send a message so they can adjust to your schedule," said Vee as she brought her a new dress.

Selena was silent for a moment, then nodded. "Tell Stoner not to leave his room after sunset. Tell John to stay near Ember Root until tonight—I’ll come see him. Tell Vylen and Dorven that whatever they need to discuss with me can wait until tomorrow at breakfast. That’s all. I’m heading to Stevan’s palace; you can join me after you’ve relayed all of that," Selena said firmly.

"Yes, I’ll pass it on, Your Majesty," Vee replied obediently, helping her get dressed.

After that, Selena walked away carrying the fruits and the medicine box she had prepared.
