Chapter 288: Slain
SWISH SWISH SWISH!
Lin Feng's Body Technique was as elusive as a phantom, and these men in black couldn't land a single blow.
All they could do was watch helplessly as Lin Feng slammed his fist into one man's skull. Blood sprayed through the air, and the man died before he could even scream.
At that moment, Lin Feng was like a Demon King returned from Hell. Wielding a tri-edged military spike, he moved like a phantom in the night, flickering through the group of men and reaping their lives.
In less than thirty seconds, Lin Feng had dispatched all his enemies. Only the leader of the men in black was left, trembling uncontrollably.
"Who sent you?"
Lin Feng asked, staring coldly at the man. He could sense that this man was also an Ancient Martial Artist—a Postnatal Fourth Layer one, to be exact.
"It was... it was Li Weihao of the Li Family who sent me..."
The man in black stammered, his voice trembling. Lin Feng's brutal methods had completely broken his spirit.
An icy glint filled Lin Feng's eyes.
To him, the Li Family was just another new power on the board. He wasn't afraid in the slightest. All he felt was rage and killing intent.
He knew when he won the Purple Reishi at the auction that there would be trouble.
But he never imagined they would actually dare to touch someone close to him. For the Li Family, there was only one consequence for this act: death!
"The Li Family. Good. I'll remember you. I hope you live a long, long time."
Lin Feng said coldly. Without finishing off the Postnatal-level man, he turned and walked toward the other end of the factory building.
The small grove of trees wasn't large, and he easily found the factory's back door. But just as he was about to push it open, he suddenly felt a powerful gust of wind from his side.
WHOOSH!
A dart tore through the void, shooting toward Lin Feng with a biting chill. Its impossibly sharp tip even seemed to give off a faint white mist.
Lin Feng sneered. With a slight shift of his feet, he leaped forward, his body blurring into an afterimage as he dodged to the left.
THWACK!
A dart embedded itself deep into the wooden wall, barely a centimeter from where Lin Feng had been.
SWISH!
Lin Feng spun around just as a silver glint of sword light whistled toward him.
CLANG!
The crisp, ringing sound of clashing metal echoed as a longsword was stopped dead between them.
Lin Feng glanced down at the blade stopped against his chest, his eyes narrowing. 'To think someone would launch a sneak attack on me!'
SWISH!
He dropped into a low stance, grabbed the sword blade resting against his chest, and abruptly yanked it back with immense force.
SNAP!
Just like that, the longsword, forged from solid steel, was snapped in two by Lin Feng.
PTUI!
The ambusher spat out a mouthful of blood, his eyes widening in astonishment.
He never imagined that this seemingly frail young man would possess such terrifying combat strength.
His eyes darted about frantically. He wanted to run, but there was nowhere to go; Lin Feng had him completely cornered.
He could only charge forward with all his might, attempting to evade Lin Feng's attacks while simultaneously creating an escape opportunity for the man behind him.
But he was sorely mistaken. Lin Feng had no intention of letting him escape. Lin Feng's speed was blinding. He caught up in an instant, his hand slashing forward like a blade and cutting the man down.
THUD!
After a flurry of blows, Lin Feng beat the man in black as if he were a punching bag, leaving him covered in bruises and blood.
Lin Feng pinned him to the ground with his foot, his gaze like ice.
"You pieces of trash thought you could stop me?"
Applying pressure with his foot, Lin Feng crushed the man's ribs.
The man's face turned crimson as he struggled to get up, but it was useless. He could only gasp and groan in agony.
Lin Feng ignored him and continued on his way. 'This trash isn't worth my time,' he thought. 'And this is an emergency. I have to find Su Yanxue, fast.'
The dilapidated factory was a decent size, around five hundred square meters.
After walking down a narrow passageway for two or three minutes, Lin Feng heard a girl's frantic cries for help.
"Help! Help!"
Lin Feng recognized the voice instantly. It was Su Yanxue!
'Damn it, they're really asking for death!'
Killing intent flared in his eyes. Lin Feng immediately picked up his pace, sprinting in the direction of the voice.
WHOOSH!
An arrow shot out from an angle, aimed directly at Lin Feng.
"Hmph!"
Lin Feng snorted, his right leg whipping up to kick the speeding arrow out of the air.
He looked up and saw a powerfully built man with a bow drawn, another arrow nocked and aimed right at him.
"Heh, you're pretty alert, striking first like that," Lin Feng remarked calmly.
Although he was at the Peak of Mid-Stage Innate, he was injured. Furthermore, the weapon in his opponent's hands was clearly no ordinary item, so he had to remain cautious.
"Kid, if you know what's good for you, get on your knees, beg for forgiveness, and hand over the Purple Reishi. Otherwise, you're not walking out of here today!"
The man bellowed, his eyes filled with malice. He was an Ancient Martial Artist whose strength was considerable, having reached the Peak of Late Stage Postnatal. He was absolutely confident he could kill the injured young man before him.
"Oh? Since you're in such a hurry to die, allow me to oblige you."
Lin Feng sneered. He took a single step, and his figure vanished.
The man was stunned. Lin Feng's speed was simply too fast; all he could see was a faint afterimage.
BAM!
A vicious Palm Seal slammed into the man's shoulder, sending him staggering and nearly knocking him off his feet.
He gritted his teeth against the searing pain and straightened up, glaring viciously at Lin Feng. He swung the scimitar in his hand, slashing brutally at Lin Feng's waist.
Lin Feng's body contorted, narrowly dodging the slash. He then leaped into the air, raising his right knee high. With the roar of wind and thunder, it crashed viciously into the man's chest.
BAM!
The man let out a muffled grunt as he was sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground.
It all happened in the blink of an eye. By the time Lin Feng sent the man flying with a kick, several more men in black had already closed in, surrounding him.
There were more than a dozen of them in total, all wielding assorted weapons, and they had Lin Feng completely encircled.
Every single one of them had a sinister look in their eyes, staring at Lin Feng as if he were a prime cut of meat ready for the slaughter.
These were all Ancient Martial Artists hired by the Li Family. They were all in the Postnatal realm, with the weakest being at the mid-stage. It was safe to say that every one of them was a formidable fighter.
