The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 287: Die

A bloodcurdling scream erupted from Su Peng's mouth. He was utterly horrified. 'He never imagined Lin Feng could be so fast!'

Su Peng's leg was broken, the bone completely shattered. The pain caused cold sweat to bead on his forehead. He stared at Lin Feng in terror, his heart filled with endless regret.

'If I'd known this would happen,' he thought, 'nothing could have convinced me to come looking for trouble!'

But there are no do-overs in life. It was too late. Lin Feng had crippled his leg, leaving him unable to even run. A wave of utter despair washed over him.

"Ah!"

His agonized wails echoed through the dilapidated warehouse, enough to make one's skin crawl and scalp tingle.

It was an absolutely ghastly scene.

Su Peng's face twisted into a ferocious mask. It felt as if his right leg was being torn from his body, and the intense pain made him tremble uncontrollably.

But even more than the pain—which was just barely bearable—an intense sense of humiliation surged through him.

'A mighty Late Stage of Innate Master, actually defeated by a Martial Artist in the Mid-stage Innate Realm... This is the ultimate humiliation!'

Su Peng glared at Lin Feng, a crazed look growing in his eyes. He suddenly stomped his right foot, cracking the ground as he launched himself into the air!

BANG!

The next moment, he lashed out with a whip kick aimed at Lin Feng's chest!

Lin Feng's expression darkened. The power in that kick was immense, and he dared not underestimate it. He crossed his arms in front of him to block the attack.

But he had misjudged Su Peng's power. The kick was shockingly strong, sending him flying backward. He crashed through the tables and chairs behind him, landing in a heap on the floor and spitting up a mouthful of blood.

Lin Feng's expression was grim. 'The power of that kick was far beyond my expectations,' he thought. 'My guard was almost shattered.'

"Kid, you're dead! You dare to provoke our Su Family? You think you'll get out of this alive? Haha!"

Su Peng roared with laughter, his expression a mask of savage madness.

"Heh."

Lin Feng wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and shook his tingling hands. "I should be saying that to you," he said coldly. "The Su Family is finished. Soon enough, your Su Family will cease to exist."

"Bullshit!"

Su Peng froze for a moment, then erupted in a stream of curses. He didn't believe a word Lin Feng said.

"You don't believe me?"

Lin Feng shook his head and started walking toward Su Peng. "You'll find out soon enough," he said softly as he advanced.

As Lin Feng advanced step by step, Su Peng couldn't help but back away, panic flashing in his eyes. 'I don't know where this kid gets his confidence,' he thought, 'but I have a terrible feeling he's telling the truth!'

Su Peng was terrified. He stumbled backward, his eyes wide with fear, yet he stubbornly held his ground, putting on a brave front.

The corners of Lin Feng's mouth curled into a slight smile, but his eyes grew even colder. 'I'm going to cripple him. I will never allow someone who dared to harm those close to me to keep breathing.'

Lin Feng lunged forward, his right hand shaped into a claw, and clamped down on Su Peng's shoulder.

CRACK!

With a sharp crack, Su Peng's shoulder blade shattered. Splintered bone pierced his skin, and the metallic scent of blood filled the air.

"Ugh!"

Su Peng cried out in agony, his face contorted in a pained grimace as beads of sweat the size of peas rolled down his cheeks.

He wanted to fight back, but that last kick had exhausted all his physical stamina and Inner Strength, leaving him completely powerless.

Lin Feng snorted coldly and applied more pressure. With another sickening CRACK, he broke Su Peng's other arm.

"AHHH!!!"

The intense pain made Su Peng wish he were dead. He shrieked, tears and snot streaming down his face. It was a pathetic sight. He looked less like an Innate Master and more like a common beggar.

"Don't kill me... Please... I'm begging you... I'll be your slave, I'll do anything to repay you!"

Seeing Lin Feng's ice-cold expression, Su Peng completely panicked. He had lost all ability to resist.

Su Peng knew the most important thing now was to stay alive. 'As long as I can survive,' he thought, 'I'll pay any price!'

"And why should I spare you?"

Lin Feng asked coldly. 'This man wanted to violate Su Yanxue. For that alone, he deserves to be cut into a thousand pieces.'

"Because if you kill me, you'll offend the power behind me! You'll be hunted down! You won't be able to escape the Northwest Province!"

"Heh. Trash like you thinks you're worthy of making me run? Killing you would be child's play."

Lin Feng shot Su Peng a cold glance. He had no regard for whatever power Su Peng claimed to have; he'd never considered the so-called Su Family to be a threat.

"You..."

Su Peng gritted his teeth, glaring at Lin Feng. He knew he wasn't going to make it out of here alive, a fact that filled him with regret.

'If only I'd known how much trouble he was, I never would have provoked him.'

BANG!

Lin Feng raised his hand, and a sharp bolt of energy shot from his fingertip, piercing straight through Su Peng's forehead.

THUD!

Su Peng fell backward with a thud, his pupils losing focus, his eyes freezing in a look of terror and regret.

Lin Feng watched Su Peng fall with a cold, detached expression. His gaze grew even colder as a thick killing intent emanated from him. Su Peng's actions had truly enraged him.

'He might have been able to forgive Su Peng, but he would never forgive the Su Family behind him.'

Lin Feng slowly got to his feet, his eyes growing deeper, more unfathomable. Over the years, he had seen too much treachery and deceit, and experienced too many partings born of life and death.

He was no longer the naive young man he once was. In the dog-eat-dog Martial Cultivation Realm, he had been completely reforged.

After wiping the blood from his hands on the corpse, Lin Feng headed toward the back of the old warehouse.

'I don't know where they're holding Su Yanxue,' he thought, 'but since they told me to meet them here, they've definitely laid a trap. And it won't be a simple one.'

Lin Feng's steps were steady, as if he hadn't a care in the world. He walked into a small copse of trees. The surroundings were eerily silent, save for the occasional chirp of a bird or insect, which only added to the sinister atmosphere.

Lin Feng pushed his five senses to their absolute limit, straining to catch the slightest sound or trace as he searched for where they might be hiding Su Yanxue.

Suddenly, Lin Feng stopped. He sensed the sounds of a fight up ahead. A moment later, several burly men dressed in black rushed into his line of sight.

They wielded daggers and began slashing at him wildly. Their movements were extremely fast and clearly well-practiced.

Moreover, every strike was aimed for a vital point, which made Lin Feng's brow furrow even more tightly.

Fortunately, however, these enemies were merely ordinary men. For someone like Lin Feng, even injured, they wouldn't be able to get near him.
