Chapter 139: Phenom
At his age, even the most monstrous of prodigies would be at the Early Stage of Innate at best. For Lin Feng to have reached the Late Stage of Innate was simply defying all logic.
Wu Tianxiang immediately dismissed the thought.
"Hmph. I don't care if you're truly at the Late Stage of Innate or just faking it. If you dare to barge in, you're dead. The setup I have here is more than enough to riddle you with holes!"
Having sorted out his thoughts, a savage smile crept across Wu Tianxiang's lips.
...
Lin Feng was now advancing through the villa's courtyard. He wasn't moving quickly, but each time, he dodged the bullets coming from all directions by a hair's breadth.
With every move, he took out an assassin with minimal effort.
Moreover, Lin Feng's expression remained perfectly calm, as if he paid no mind to the unknown number of assassins lurking in the shadows.
Suddenly, Lin Feng came to a dead stop.
Just then, the sound of dozens of gunshots erupted from behind him. At least seven or eight firearms had taken aim at him and opened fire simultaneously.
"RAT-A-TAT-TAT!"
Accompanied by a dense volley of gunfire, countless bullets rained down on Lin Feng from seven or eight different locations.
'This kind of thing is useless against me.'
To Lin Feng, the speeding bullets looked like they were moving in slow motion, just like in the movies.
The next moment, Lin Feng moved. He stomped hard on the ground, and his body shot forward like a cannonball. Just as the bullets were about to hit, his figure abruptly vanished.
"SQUELCH!"
A few of the assassins had just swung their muzzles around to strafe him when a cold, merciless dagger pierced one of their throats. Bright red blood flowed down the blade, staining the hilt.
The assassin's eyes bulged. He clutched his throat, his face a mask of utter disbelief.
'Lin Feng is faster than a bullet? That's fucking impossible!'
"WHOOSH!"
Lin Feng's body left a trail of afterimages in the air. The next moment, he swung his arm fiercely.
In that instant, his fist became a blur. Shrouded in invisible Inner Strength, it thrust forward horizontally.
Ripples visible to the naked eye emanated outward, instantly knocking the incoming bullets away. They ended up landing in the flowerbeds, the pool, and on the lawn.
"BOOM!"
Instantly, the bullets exploded, riddling the area with a dense pattern of craters.
"HISS!"
Everyone watching gasped in shock. They never would have imagined Lin Feng could be so powerful. It was simply inconceivable.
"Damn it!"
Wu Tianxiang gritted his teeth as he watched, a profound sense of fear welling up inside him.
The combat prowess Lin Feng displayed was terrifying. 'I have no doubt,' he thought, 'that if I were to fight him, I wouldn't last long before he killed me!'
"Retreat! Everyone fall back into the villa and fight from there!"
Wu Tianxiang roared into the microphone in front of him. On the security monitors, the many bodyguards who had been frozen in fear immediately began to retreat.
Watching the numerous figures moving in the darkness, Lin Feng paid them no mind. To him, these ordinary men with guns were nothing more than ants.
His goal was to find Wu Tianxiang, who was hiding somewhere, and kill him. It was that simple.
"SWOOSH!"
A terrifying, cold light flashed in Lin Feng's eyes. Like a peerless, vicious demon, he charged toward the villa's entrance.
"BANG!"
Lin Feng was moving too fast to be seen clearly. In the blink of an eye, he arrived at the villa's entrance.
"CLICK!"
Just then, the door behind him opened. A bodyguard aiming a gun at Lin Feng's head was about to pull the trigger, but Lin Feng's figure suddenly appeared in his sights.
"PFFT!"
A sharp, cold light flashed. A scarlet mist sprayed from the bodyguard's throat, and his body slowly crumpled to the ground.
"BANG! BANG! BANG!"
The next moment, several more gunshots rang out in the night sky as bullets trailing hot air tore toward Lin Feng.
But in the next instant, Lin Feng vanished like a phantom, causing the bullets to hit nothing but empty air.
"THUD!"
Lin Feng's figure vanished once again. He was simply too fast; no matter how skilled the assassins' marksmanship was, they couldn't track his movements.
"THUD!"
"THUD!"
Like a phantom, Lin Feng appeared behind one person after another, knocking each one unconscious with a single slap before disappearing again.
In the span of just a few minutes, Lin Feng had taken down nearly sixty men, yet his breathing remained steady, as if he had done nothing at all.
"Damn it!"
Wu Tianxiang cursed inwardly as he watched everything unfold from the safe room deep within the villa.
"Wu San, you go! Stall that kid!"
"Don't let him get any further! You have to stall him until Wang Jing arrives, at the very least! Understand?!"
"Also, call the medical team, now!"
Wu Tianxiang ordered frantically. Above all, he had to ensure his own safety.
"Yes, sir!"
A man standing nearby, his face obscured by a baseball cap, nodded in agreement. He then quietly opened the heavy iron door and stepped out of the safe room.
'Shit, my luck is the worst!'
Once outside the safe room, the face hidden beneath Wu San's cap twisted into a savage scowl.
'It's not like I didn't see what Lin Feng was capable of from the safe room. The man is a master at the Innate Realm, at the very least! And I'm just a Martial Artist at the Peak of the Postnatal Realm. He wants *me* to stall him?!'
'What a fucking joke!'
But despite his frustration, Wu San was, after all, a well-trained professional killer. Although he was shocked and terrified by Lin Feng's power, a vicious streak still ran through him.
It was a matter of professional pride. He would never allow himself to flee in fear before even making a move.
'Besides,' he thought, 'this villa is covered in cameras. If I run now, the Wu Family will just hunt me down later. I might as well take my chances here!'
'If by some miracle Lin Feng gets careless and underestimates me, I might just have a chance to survive this!'
"SWOOSH!"
The next moment, Wu San's figure flickered as he shot straight for Lin Feng in the first-floor hall.
'Lin Feng is powerful, I know,' he thought, 'but there are hundreds of men here. Surely we can't fail to kill this one guy!'
"SWISH!"
Wu San's figure cut through the air, a glint of cold light following him. He held two gleaming daggers, which radiated a bone-chilling, murderous aura in the moonlight.
He was cautious. Bending his knees to gather power, he didn't head down to the first floor from inside the villa. Instead, he vaulted out into the courtyard, planning to ambush Lin Feng in the main hall from behind.
His daggers reflected the moonlight, casting a faint, blueish glow. He moved cautiously toward the main hall.
