Chapter 134: Doesn't Care
"As you command."
With that, Zhou Qiang withdrew. Lin Feng closed the door, returned to the bedside, and pulled Su Yanxue into his arms.
Su Yanxue didn't ask anything. She knew Lin Feng's background was far greater than she imagined, but she didn't care. 'All I need to do now is stand by his side and support him.'
An hour later, Lin Feng and Su Yanxue came downstairs, fully dressed. Su Yanxue had changed into a business suit, which made her look elegant and dignified.
Lin Feng drove Su Yanxue to her company and opened the car door for her.
"Lin Feng, I'm off. I have to get to work."
Su Yanxue blew Lin Feng a kiss, then walked off in her high heels. Lin Feng watched her elegant figure disappear through the company's main entrance before turning to leave.
It was early September, and a fine drizzle began to fall. The streets were nearly empty, save for the occasional car roaring past.
Instead of driving, Lin Feng strolled down the street. His pace was steady and unhurried.
However, anyone sensitive enough to perceive his aura would have found it astonishing. His eyes became incredibly deep, as if countless stars were twinkling within them, emanating an immense and oppressive pressure.
SCREECH!
The sharp sound of brakes echoed as a black business sedan pulled to a stop right in front of Lin Feng.
'So, you couldn't resist after all?'
Lin Feng wasn't surprised to see the vehicle in front of him.
He had known from the start that they were following him. However, he hadn't sensed any malicious intent. Otherwise, he wouldn't have left his car at the company and started walking just to give them this opportunity.
"Heh heh, President Lin, you truly are a remarkable young man. Even I have to admire such composure."
The voice was somewhat familiar. The car door opened, and Elder Li appeared before Lin Feng.
Lin Feng raised an eyebrow at the sight of Elder Li. This was unexpected.
"It's raining out here. President Lin, why don't you join me in the car for a chat?"
Elder Li took a step forward, extending the invitation. His attitude was exceedingly polite, which astonished Lin Feng.
"Please, Elder Li."
Lin Feng replied politely. 'I don't know what tricks Elder Li has up his sleeve, but since he's here, I might as well see what this is about. Coincidentally, I had something I needed to see him about anyway. Meeting now is actually a good opportunity.'
At Elder Li's invitation, Lin Feng got into the car. The inside of the limousine was as warm as a spring day, its luxurious interior easily comparable to a private reception room.
"President Lin, please, have some tea."
Elder Li handed Lin Feng a cup of freshly brewed hot tea. It was pleasantly warm, and its aroma filled the air. Such treatment was definitely a luxury.
Elder Li's background was a complete mystery. Though he usually kept an extremely low profile, he was someone nobody dared to cross.
Lin Feng didn't thank him and simply drank the tea in one go. It was Tieguanyin, his favorite. 'This might be a treasure to ordinary people, but for me, it's far too common. I've actually grown tired of it.'
"I sought you out because there's something I'd like to discuss with you."
Elder Li said as he set down the teapot.
"What is it? Go ahead."
Lin Feng said nonchalantly, not refusing him outright. 'After all, this is a man who can produce a Spirit Stone in the Mortal Realm. Even if it's only the lowest-grade one, that's still exceedingly rare.'
"President Lin, I know that someone of your stature likely only agreed to meet with me because of that Spirit Stone."
"Then I'll be direct. Does President Lin happen to know any Ancient Martial Artists who are also skilled in the medical arts?"
A hint of urgency crept into Elder Li's voice, and his expression startled Lin Feng for a moment.
"What do you mean, Elder Li? Are you asking me to save someone?"
Lin Feng asked, confused. 'I never expected him to make this kind of request.'
"To be frank, President Lin, my Li Family is facing a crisis. At my age, I've lived a full life, but my son is still young. I was hoping that if you knew any Ancient Martial Artist friends who are skilled in medicine, you could ask them to save him."
As Elder Li spoke, his eyes filled with dejection. After all, while the Li Family was a powerhouse in its own right, it wasn't an Ancient Martial Family. It lacked the deep heritage of a true Martial Arts Family.
But Elder Li was truly at his wit's end now. As long as he could save his son, Li Yuanhao, he was willing to risk the entire foundation of the Li Family.
"Your son? What happened to him?"
Lin Feng didn't immediately agree, nor did he reveal that he himself knew medicine. 'There must be more to this story,' he thought. 'A man with Elder Li's means and status wouldn't be this desperate unless his son's condition is extremely serious.'
"Sigh... Frankly, President Lin, my son is a Martial Artist. He reached the Peak of Mid-Stage Postnatal at the age of twenty-five, which is quite an achievement."
Elder Li paused before continuing, "But three months ago, he went on a trip and came back covered in injuries. What's more, his body was afflicted with a strange poison."
"I've searched hospitals all over the country, but none of them can do anything to treat him."
"I also sought out some Ancient Martial Physicians, but they either were unable to cure him or demanded too high a price. In the end, I had to give up."
"Now, I can only try my luck. If you know such an expert, President Lin, the Li Family is willing to give its all. We wouldn't hesitate even if it meant giving up the entire Li Group."
Elder Li's fists were clenched, his face contorted in pain. After all, parents love their children more than anything in this world. For a father, no amount of wealth could ever be more important than his child's safety.
"Where is your son now?"
Lin Feng asked, feeling a measure of respect for the man. This was the unwavering determination of a father fighting for his son. Even those who wielded great power had their own troubles—their children, for example.
"He's in a villa nearby. He endures inhuman torment every day, but he's still gritting his teeth and holding on. He's been in a coma for almost a week now, though."
After hearing Elder Li's tale of suffering, Lin Feng nodded, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes. Several long minutes passed before he finally spoke.
"I can give it a try."
Elder Li froze when he heard Lin Feng's words.
"President Lin, what did you just say? You can give it a try? You know medicine?!"
Elder Li stared at Lin Feng in astonishment, now beginning to question his identity. After all, while there were many Ancient Martial Artists, not just anyone could become a Physician.
"Mm, I know a little. I'm not clear on the specifics of the situation yet, so I can't make any promises."
