The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 81: Eradicating the Roots

WHOOSH!

His body blurred into an afterimage as his fist whistled through the air, tearing through space and generating a powerful gale that blasted toward Lin Feng.

'I've practiced this move to perfection. Lin Feng will never be able to dodge an attack like this. As long as he fails to evade, he'll be critically wounded, and I'll be able to escape.'

But he was wrong. The idea was perfect, but reality was cruel. His injuries were severe and his strength had plummeted. Combined with the fact that he was already weaker than Lin Feng, the punch failed to produce the intended effect.

Lin Feng simply leaned to the side, dodging the heavy blow. Then, his right leg swept out, whipping through the air toward his opponent with immense force.

The kick landed squarely on the gray-clothed man's shoulder, sending him flying several yards. The sheer force of the blow had completely shattered his shoulder blade.

"You—you can't kill me!"

"I'm from the Black Tiger Gang's headquarters! If you kill me, the Black Tiger Gang won't let you off the hook!"

The gray-clothed man roared, his face contorted in agony. He was filled with regret. 'If I'd known Lin Feng was this ruthless and decisive, why did I have to act so tough just now?'

But while you can buy any medicine in the world, there's no cure for regret.

Lin Feng's brow twitched at his words, and his eyes narrowed. The man had just touched a nerve.

His family and friends were his absolute bottom line. Lin Feng would unhesitatingly eliminate anyone who dared to harm them, even with just a single word. That was his code.

CRACK!

He brought his foot down again, crushing the gray-clothed man's chest. Lin Feng's gaze grew even colder. 'Since this guy came to assassinate me, there's no need to hold back. Scum like him are a waste of food. Killing him is no great loss.'

BANG!

Lin Feng's foot landed squarely on the gray-clothed man's head. Blood sprayed in an instant. The man collapsed, his eyes wide with hatred, unable to rest in peace.

PFFT!

After it was all over, Lin Feng spat out a mouthful of congested blood. A wave of fatigue washed over him. He might be an Innate Martial Artist now, but it had taken its toll.

The opponents he had faced so far were all of comparable strength. Though he had emerged victorious, it hadn't been without some backlash. Fortunately, his practical combat experience was extensive.

After dealing with the gray-clothed man, he glanced at the other three bodies lying in pools of their own blood, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

He had no personal grudge against them, but since they had come to assassinate him, he naturally wouldn't show any mercy. Besides, he knew that when it came to attempts on his life, there were never any exceptions.

"Time to go."

Lin Feng muttered to himself and started walking away. It was time to go home to his wife.

...

Atop a mountain peak stood a tall building, the only structure on the entire summit. This was a secret stronghold in Xijing Province.

Inside the main hall sat six brawny, broad-shouldered men. Their muscles bulged, each line clearly defined, and they looked the picture of health.

Of this group, five stood respectfully to the side like servants, their attention fixed on the most important figures.

At the head of them all was a middle-aged man in the main seat, and beside him sat a woman who looked to be around twenty years old.

Her figure was exquisite and graceful, and a refined smile played on her delicate, pretty face. She wore a pale yellow cheongsam that left her fair shoulders bare, perfectly displaying her alluring curves and leaving one drooling in admiration.

"Miss, the intel and the video have arrived."

Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps came from outside the door. A man in black quickly entered, knelt on one knee, and presented a document and a phone with both hands. His expression was grim.

"Hm. Let me see."

the woman replied coolly, taking the document and leafing through it carefully.

After she finished reading, she said nothing, simply turning on the phone.

It played a recording of Lin Feng fighting his way from the foot of the mountain all the way to the Black Tiger Gang's headquarters.

Had Lin Feng seen this, he would have been shocked. He hadn't noticed anyone secretly filming him from start to finish, which meant that whoever had been covertly tracking him was far stronger than he was.

CLICK!

With a flick of her finger, the woman turned off the phone's screen. The corner of her mouth lifted into a subtle arc.

The woman appeared serene and gentle, but she possessed a devastating, nation-toppling beauty. Her every expression captivated the gazes of all who were present.

Her beauty was enough to bring calamity upon a nation. This naturally enchanting and coquettish aura left the men around her staring, dumbfounded.

"What do you think?"

Looking at the men, who stood like statues, the woman asked with a faint smile. Her sweet expression immediately caused cold sweat to break out on the brawny men's foreheads.

They knew all too well what their young mistress was capable of. Anyone who mistook her for a helpless girl would pay a hefty price.

"Miss, we can confirm that this is Lin Feng, the young master of the Lin Group who went missing several years ago. It's unclear why his strength has returned to the Innate level, but he's already far more powerful than an ordinary Ancient Martial Artist."

a particularly burly man said.

"Yes, this Lin Feng is quite impressive, but he has only just broken through to the Innate Realm. A cultivator at his level is still beneath our notice."

The woman shook her head. She knew Lin Feng was no simple character—after all, she had been fortunate enough to witness him in Divine Doctor Valley. Still, she didn't pay him much mind. She knew that the top powers in Xijing were far beyond anything Lin Feng could hope to challenge.

"I will have my men keep an eye on him. If anything unusual happens, we will be notified immediately."

the man who had spoken first added. The powerful aura he exuded suggested he was, at minimum, in the Innate Realm.

"Very well. You are all dismissed. And one more thing—remember to inform *that person*. I'm sure he'll be delighted to hear that Lin Feng has returned."

the woman said slowly, her eyes narrowing into dangerous slits.

"Your subordinate takes his leave."

After speaking, the men filed out of the rooftop hall. Even as they left, with only the woman remaining, their gazes toward her were filled with deep apprehension and fear.

"Lin Feng… you really are a handful."

Gazing out at the empty hall, a captivating smile spread across the woman's lips. She turned slowly, her flawless hand gently caressing her own exquisite face as her bright, clear eyes shimmered with excitement.
