The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 73: Barrage

It was a sight an ordinary person could never imagine: a long blade, wielded by human strength alone, moved with the density of falling rain, leaving a trail of faint afterimages.

CLANG!

Lin Feng raised his arms to block. Though he precisely deflected the attacks at his opponent's wrist each time, his own arms still trembled uncontrollably. He was forced back five or six meters before he finally steadied himself.

"Haha! Why'd you stop attacking? Weren't you acting all high and mighty just a moment ago?"

Seeing Lin Feng's condition, Zhang Heng burst out laughing, a crazed killing intent glinting in his eyes. Lin Feng had actually forced him back—an immense humiliation he was now determined to erase.

"I said it before. All of you will die!"

Lin Feng's gaze turned bone-chilling. He had dared to barge into the Black Tiger Gang's territory alone; naturally, he was supremely confident.

Zhang Heng's appearance was certainly a surprise, but to think this alone was enough to stop him—let alone kill him—was a complete pipe dream!

"Hmph!"

Hearing this, Zhang Heng just sneered disdainfully. Then he stomped his right foot on the floor, his whole body shooting out like a cannonball and hurtling toward Lin Feng with a whistle.

Lin Feng stood rooted to the spot. Only when Zhang Heng was about to reach him did he suddenly thrust out a fist.

The punch was plain and unadorned, with no trace of flair, yet it sent a numbing chill through Zhang Heng's body and made the hair on his skin stand up instantly.

BANG!

Zhang Heng didn't dare to be careless. He quickly raised his arms to block, but his entire body was sent flying backward, knocking over several wooden posts.

Lin Feng's deceptively simple punch had caused Zhang Heng to suffer a significant blow.

"Damn it, I refuse to believe I can't take you down!"

Zhang Heng scrambled up from the ground. He had no idea what was behind Lin Feng's punch, but he still roared in fury and lunged at Lin Feng again.

CLANG! CLANG!

Zhang Heng's attacks were incredibly fierce, every slash brimming with murderous intent.

Not to be outdone, the unarmed Lin Feng channeled power into his legs. In a flash, he appeared behind Zhang Heng and whipped a kick at his back.

Although Zhang Heng managed to block the blow at the last second by turning his long blade sideways, the impact it carried was no joke. It sent him flying several yards before he came to a stop.

"Cough, cough… You've got a few tricks up your sleeve, kid. No wonder you dared to storm the Black Tiger Gang's headquarters."

Zhang Heng said with difficulty, clutching his chest.

He hadn't expected someone as young as Lin Feng to possess such formidable skills. He had already used eighty percent of his power, but he had still been defeated.

"You should have expected this day would come the moment you dared to make a move against me."

Lin Feng said indifferently as he slowly walked toward Zhang Heng.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Heng, far from being afraid, licked his lips in excitement.

"Bring it on."

Zhang Heng shouted. Although there was a trace of fear in his eyes, it was overshadowed by his rage and killing intent.

SWISH!

The next second, his figure vanished, reappearing instantly in front of Lin Feng. The long blade in his hand slashed violently toward Lin Feng with incredible speed.

BANG!

Lin Feng didn't evade at all, instead meeting Zhang Heng's blade directly with his bare palm.

CLANG!

The sound of metal striking metal rang out, and both Lin Feng and Zhang Heng were forced back several meters.

Zhang Heng stared at Lin Feng in astonishment. He never would have imagined that his all-out strike would be blocked by Lin Feng.

'This kid is unnatural! How could he possibly block my weapon with his bare hand?!'

But in the next moment, he saw a cold glint flash in Lin Feng's palm—it was the shape of a silver needle.

'He blocked my attack with just a silver needle?!'

Zhang Heng was utterly shocked. That last slash could be considered his peak attack in this entire fight, yet it had only forced Lin Feng back a few steps.

Anyone else would have been cleaved in two by that strike.

"If that's all you've got, you can still run."

Lin Feng gave Zhang Heng a cold glance, then took the initiative and charged. He wasn't using any martial arts techniques, relying purely on his physical strength to fight, and he was still doing so with ease.

CLANG!

The two clashed fiercely. After a brief stalemate, beads of sweat appeared on Zhang Heng's forehead. His assault began to slow. At this rate, he probably wouldn't last much longer.

Lin Feng also noticed the change in Zhang Heng's style. A dangerous light flickered in his eyes. 'Although I can't use most of the martial arts techniques I know right now, I can still employ a few small tricks.'

THUD!

A heavy punch from Lin Feng slammed into Zhang Heng's chest, sending him flying backward.

PTHOO!

Zhang Heng crashed heavily to the ground and spat out a mouthful of blood. He looked up, his face dark as he glared at Lin Feng.

He could clearly feel that the bones in his chest had likely fractured. Although Lin Feng's move hadn't crippled him outright, he had suffered serious internal injuries.

Lin Feng paid Zhang Heng no mind and continued walking forward. Forcing himself to endure the pain, Zhang Heng slowly climbed to his feet, gritting his teeth as he glared at Lin Feng. He finally understood now that tonight was destined to be a brutal fight.

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes filled with grim determination. He had reached the point of no return. If he lost tonight, not only would the Black Tiger Gang's reputation be ruined, but he would likely lose his own life as well.

Zhang Heng took a deep breath, then raised his blade and charged once more.

"I refuse to believe that I'm no match for you when we're both Innate Martial Artists!"

With a furious roar, Zhang Heng swung his long blade. Every strike was vicious and sharp, and his speed made them nearly impossible to defend against.

Lin Feng remained calm and unhurried. His feet never stopped moving for a moment as he constantly struck out with his left fist and right elbow, accurately predicting Zhang Heng's line of attack every time.

This Zhang Heng was very strong, proving he was worthy of his title as an expert of the Black Tiger Gang. His bladework was especially tricky; it was clear he had put a great deal of effort into it.

Lin Feng's figure flickered unpredictably as he dodged Zhang Heng's attacks, all the while searching for an opening to take him down in one move.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him. He had thought of a perfect way to deal with Zhang Heng.

Lin Feng turned his body slightly, seizing an opening Zhang Heng had exposed. He closed the distance instantly, swinging his other arm in a heavy arc straight toward Zhang Heng's neck.

The move looked simple and brutal, but it was filled with power. No matter how agile Zhang Heng was, he definitely wouldn't be able to defend against it.

'What?! So fast!'

Feeling the rush of wind from the attack, Zhang Heng's body began to dodge instinctively before he even saw it coming. Unfortunately for him, Lin Feng's target wasn't Zhang Heng himself, but the long blade in his hand.
