Chapter 43: Indifference
"Let her go."
Lin Feng's tone was calm, but it carried a bone-chilling indifference.
A towering rage had already ignited within him.
"If you fucking take one more step, I'll blow her head off first!"
Wang Kai roared frantically. He had descended into complete madness. In all his years, he had never faced a situation like this. The man before him was like a demon, his eyes filled with killing intent.
"I'll count to three. If you still haven't let her go by then, you will die today."
Lin Feng slowly raised his right hand, extending a single finger as he began the countdown. "Three... two... one..."
With each word he uttered, the chilling killing intent grew thicker. The hairs on Wang Kai's arms stood on end, as if he had been plunged into an ice cellar.
Wang Kai was finally afraid. He knew that if this man truly wanted to kill him, he would already be dead!
"Don't... don't count anymore..."
he said hurriedly, tears and snot streaming down his face. He was in no state to care about his dignity.
Lin Feng stopped counting and watched him coolly, waiting for his answer.
"I'm begging you..."

Wang Kai nodded frantically. Lin Feng's words had shattered the last of his resistance. He believed that if he truly dared to refuse, the man would slaughter him without a second thought!

Only then did Lin Feng retract his aura, giving Wang Kai a cool glance and gesturing for him to release the hostage.
Wang Kai finally came to his senses. He quickly loosened his grip and lowered Su Yanxue, whom he had been holding, to the ground.

The moment she was free of Wang Kai's grasp, Su Yanxue collapsed to the ground, panting heavily. Her exquisite, beautiful face was covered in sweat.
Her eyes were still covered, but her ears were not, so she had naturally heard Lin Feng's voice.
She opened her hazy eyes and saw the familiar yet unfamiliar face before her. Her delicate body trembled with emotion.
"Honey."
Tears streamed from her eyes. She broke down in an instant, throwing herself into Lin Feng's arms and weeping, clinging to him tightly as if terrified he would disappear again.
All the pent-up frustration and grievances she had accumulated over this period finally burst forth the moment she saw him, her tears flowing like a spring.
She might be the CEO of the Su Group, but she was still just a young woman. She had been shouldering far too much these past few days.
"It's okay. It's all over now. It's okay."
Holding her gently in his arms, Lin Feng comforted her in a soft voice, his eyes filled with heartache.

Su Yanxue nodded vigorously, hugging Lin Feng even tighter.
"Take one more step, and I'll kill you instantly!"
While gently comforting Su Yanxue, Lin Feng looked up at Wang Kai, who was slowly backing toward the window.
Wang Kai was trembling all over, his forehead beaded with sweat. He was terrified.

"Where is that Elder Li now?"
"He's at an abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city. You know how strong he is. I only know his exact location."
Wang Kai swallowed hard and said with difficulty, completely terrified now.
"Lead the way."
