Chapter 42: Ancient Martial Artist Begging for Mercy
Elder Li struggled to breathe, using the last of his strength to beg for mercy. He finally realized Lin Feng wanted him dead.
"Hmph. A little late for that now, isn't it? I'll give you one last chance," Lin Feng said coldly.
"I'll talk! I'll talk... Su Yanxue and Wang Kai are in the factory's Area Three," Elder Li said in a rush. He couldn't care less about his dignity as an Ancient Martial Artist right now.
'Staying alive was all that mattered.'
Hearing Elder Li's answer, Lin Feng's eyes narrowed. 'So it really was them.'
"Lead the way."
Lin Feng released his right hand from Elder Li's throat and said flatly. At the same time, a Golden Needle appeared in his hand. If the man tried anything, Lin Feng wouldn't hesitate to end his life.
Elder Li struggled to his feet, clutching the shoulder Lin Feng had dislocated, and staggered away.
He didn't dare say another word. He knew that if he did anything more to provoke Lin Feng, he wouldn't just lose an arm—he'd lose his life right here.
HUFF... PUFF...
Elder Li panted heavily as he led the way, his body utterly exhausted. He all but collapsed onto a nearby rock.
The imposing figure from before was gone. Now, Elder Li looked no better than a beggar.
'Damn it, that fucking bastard.'
He cursed viciously, swearing to himself that if he made it out of here alive, he would tear Lin Feng limb from limb.
"If you want to die now, you can just stop here."
Lin Feng's icy voice came from behind, startling Elder Li so badly he nearly fell over.
Elder Li glanced back to see Lin Feng staring at him, his face devoid of expression. Elder Li's heart pounded in his chest, and he quickly picked up his pace toward the factory.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.
Following behind him, Lin Feng knocked on the iron door of Warehouse Three.
CREAK.
The door suddenly opened, and five or six burly men rushed out, brandishing various weapons. Each one of them stared at Lin Feng with a menacing scowl.
Elder Li seized the opportunity to dive into the factory, his figure vanishing from sight.
"Haha! So what if you're strong, kid? You're too naive!"
"Get him! Kill him for me!"
Elder Li's furious voice echoed from inside the factory.
The five or six burly men glanced at each other. One of them pulled out a dagger and advanced on Lin Feng.
Without a word, the man lunged, stabbing at Lin Feng with the dagger.
CLANG!
The man's dagger-wielding hand was instantly crushed by Lin Feng. A cold light flashed, and a silver needle pierced his temple. He didn't even have time to scream before he collapsed to the ground, dead.
Lin Feng shook his head and sighed. 'This rabble is pathetically weak. Even with weapons, it's useless.' Wasting his time only fueled his killing intent.
"Did you really think these ordinary men could stop me?"
With a flick of his wrist, the short blade in his hand unleashed a flurry of cold glints that shot out in all directions.
THWIP.
A series of dull thuds followed. The next moment, before the men even knew what had happened, they fainted and collapsed to the ground.
Lin Feng hadn't used lethal force. 'Otherwise, they'd already be a pile of bones.'
He strode into Factory Three. The place was a complete mess, strewn with debris, scrap, and jumbled wooden crates.
Elder Li, however, was nowhere to be seen. Only panicked footprints on the ground proved he had been there at all.
But Elder Li was an Ancient Martial Artist, after all. Though he was exhausted, his escape skills were nothing to scoff at. 'Finding him in this complex terrain will be difficult.'
Lin Feng's brow furrowed. He mulled it over for a moment, then headed toward the back of the factory.
In the back lot stood two small, two-story buildings. A window in one of them was ajar, and he could faintly make out two shifting, dark figures inside.
They were two black-clad bodyguards armed with handguns. They were staring intently at the door, trembling from head to toe, their faces ashen. They were clearly terrified out of their wits.
"Who's there!"
Sensing someone approach, the two bodyguards immediately shot to their feet.
But before they could even get ready, Lin Feng's figure appeared before them.
He held a silver needle, which emitted a faint, cold glint. With a soft flick, two slender silver needles flew into their heads.
THUD! THUD!
Two bodies toppled to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. Their wide eyes were filled with sheer terror.
Lin Feng dusted off his hands, turned, and continued his search deeper inside.
He didn't enjoy killing, but that didn't mean he was afraid to do it, especially not when dealing with his enemies.
He had avoided taking lives before, but now that they'd dared to kidnap someone close to him, there was no longer any reason to hold back.
He soon made his way inside the small building. Its layout was similar to Factories One and Two, containing a total of three rooms.
The moment he stepped inside, his ears twitched.
As someone steeped in the medical arts since childhood, Lin Feng's five senses were incredibly sharp.
CLICK.
Lin Feng slipped inside and pushed open the door on the left. The moment he stepped through, a sharp, black military dagger swung at his neck.
WHAM!
Lin Feng effortlessly caught the spine of the blade and wrenched it outward.
"AARGH!"
A bloodcurdling scream echoed from the room. The attacker's entire arm went numb.
SWOOSH.
At the same time, two more daggers slashed at his legs in an attempt to stop him from advancing and cripple him on the spot.
'One had to admit, their coordination was excellent. An ordinary person would have been taken down by that attack. Unfortunately for them, their enemy was Lin Feng.'
"Get lost."
Lin Feng casually knocked the two daggers away, then shot out a hand, grabbed one of the men by the neck, and tossed him onto the bed. He followed up with a slap to the man's chest. The sound of several ribs breaking was audible, and the man fell to the floor, writhing in agony as blood trickled from his mouth.
"You..."
The man stared at Lin Feng in utter horror. He never imagined a single palm strike could leave him so grievously injured, on the verge of death. His opponent's strength was far beyond anything he had anticipated.
But Lin Feng paid him no mind and walked straight into the next room. His gaze immediately landed on Wang Kai, who stood in the center of the room looking terrified, with Su Yanxue held hostage in his arms.
"K-Kid! Back off! Take one more step and I'll put a bullet through her head!"
Seeing Lin Feng take down his last men in just a few moves, Wang Kai completely panicked.
He was filled with an intense regret. 'Why did I ever have to provoke Lin Feng?!'
