The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 28: The Order is Wrong

"I asked for your name first. You answered out of order."

Lin Feng no longer had his usual lazy and harmless demeanor.

Instead, he was like a demon crawled up from Hell itself. A savage, brutal air radiated from him, and his sharp, suffocating presence was the kind born of slaughter.

"I… I…"

The man in black struggled to speak, but no words came out. The pain had drained him of all his strength. He hated Lin Feng with every fiber of his being. 'Why is he tormenting me like this?' he thought. He wanted to fucking curse him out.

CRACK!

Lin Feng stomped on and broke another one of his legs.

"ARGH!"

His wretched scream, mingling with the downpour, sounded like the cry of a vengeful spirit reaping a soul, enough to chill one to the bone.

The man's body trembled violently. The agony from within and the searing pain from his shattered leg combined into an unbearable torment. He couldn't take it anymore. He felt like he'd been completely broken.

"I… I'll talk… My name is Huang Wenzhi! I'm Wang Kai's personal bodyguard, assigned by the Wang Family! He couldn't let it go, so he sent me to teach you a lesson!"

Huang Wenzhi screamed, truly unable to bear it any longer. This was a level of torture no human could withstand. He would rather die than continue to suffer such inhuman abuse.

Lin Feng said nothing. He slowly crouched down, took Huang Wenzhi's mangled, bloody right hand, and pressed gently on his wrist a few times. Huang Wenzhi's arm immediately went numb, and the excruciating, bone-deep pain vanished in a flash.

Haaah!

Huang Wenzhi instantly let out a long breath of relief. The feeling of imminent death was finally gone.

But before he could even catch his breath, Lin Feng suddenly lifted his foot and kicked him viciously in the stomach.

THUD!

With a dull thud, his burly frame was sent flying a full twenty meters before crashing to the ground. His eyes were wide, blood dribbling from the corner of his mouth, his gaze fixed on Lin Feng, filled with nothing but terror.

Lin Feng stood with his hands clasped behind his back, silently watching Huang Wenzhi on the ground, his eyes as cold as ice.

"I never said I was letting you go."

"If you dare to lay a hand on the people around me, you should be prepared to die."

To Huang Wenzhi, the soft footsteps were deafeningly loud. Even the rain and thunder couldn't drown out the sound of them slowly approaching. Each footfall felt like it was stomping on his very heart.

His pupils contracted violently. Mustering every ounce of strength he had, he scrambled to his knees and began desperately kowtowing to Lin Feng, begging for his life.

"Sir! Boss! Please, let me go! I'll never dare to cross you again! Just let me go, I'm begging you…"

THUD! THUD! THUD!

He begged as he kowtowed, the sound of his forehead striking the pavement ringing out with startling clarity under the dark, gloomy sky.

He had thrown all dignity to the wind.

"Heh. Your Wang Family doesn't play by the rules, so you'd better have the guts to pay the price. Since you chose to come after me, you should have known what you were getting into."

A wicked smirk curved Lin Feng's lips.

"You… Who the hell are you?!"

Huang Wenzhi looked up in despair.

By now, Lin Feng had reached him. With a flick of his wrist, an ordinary silver needle materialized in his hand.

'For scum like this, there was no need to bring out a Golden Needle.'

Before anyone could see him move, a cold glint flashed, and the needle shot out, embedding itself in an acupoint on Huang Wenzhi's forehead.

"You can't kill me, my master is—"

The moment the silver needle entered his body, Huang Wenzhi seemed to realize something and tried to speak, but halfway through his sentence, his expression went slack, his eyes turning dull and vacant.

"Heh, hehehe… Who are you?"

Drool mingled with the rain and streamed from his mouth. Gone was the sharp, capable Martial Artist; in his place was someone who looked like a simple-minded child.

"I'm your big bro. Big bro is going to teach you one thing, and you need to remember it carefully."

With a faint smile, Lin Feng looked just like a kind, gentle boy-next-door.

"Remember this: anytime you see someone who isn't me, your big bro, you walk right up, slap them across the face, and say, 'I'm your daddy.' Got it?"

"You got it!"

Huang Wenzhi grinned, revealing a set of perfectly white teeth. He looked utterly, disarmingly simple.

Looking at the stupefied Huang Wenzhi, Lin Feng nodded in satisfaction.

"Alright, you just sit here and play. Someone will come get you."

Without a moment's hesitation, he turned and left. 'He had completely disabled Huang Wenzhi with a single needle. It would be a miracle if he had the IQ of a five- or six-year-old now.'

"Okay, bye-bye, big bro."

Huang Wenzhi gave Lin Feng a simple-minded wave, then lowered his head and went back to playing intently with the puddles on the ground.

HUFF, PUFF!

Lin Feng strode away quickly. He had just taken Su Yanxue home and had no idea what the situation there was. If this was a ploy to lure him away, he'd be in trouble.

As Lin Feng departed, the street fell silent again, leaving only the sound of Huang Wenzhi's idiotic laughter.

...

"Dammit, why isn't he back yet?"

In an underground parking garage three streets away, Wang Kai sat in a luxury car, frowning at his phone.

Over an hour had passed, but Huang Wenzhi still hadn't returned to report in. He knew Huang Wenzhi was a capable fighter, but he couldn't help but worry.

He tried calling, only to find Huang Wenzhi's phone was off. That shouldn't have happened. As his personal bodyguard, Huang Wenzhi was required to keep his phone on him at all times in case of an emergency.

But now, it really seemed like something had gone wrong.

'Screw it, I'll drive over and find him.'

Gritting his teeth, Wang Kai started the car, slammed on the accelerator, and sped off.

Before he'd made his move, Huang Wenzhi had sent Wang Kai his location. The plan was for Wang Kai to show up after the fight to humiliate Lin Feng.

He never thought it would end up being the key to finding Huang Wenzhi instead.

The two locations weren't far apart, and with the roads empty on this rainy night, it took him less than ten minutes to reach the spot Huang Wenzhi had sent him.

"What… what is he doing?"

The moment he parked, Wang Kai saw him: Huang Wenzhi, sitting under a streetlight in the pouring rain, playing in a puddle. Wang Kai was utterly dumbfounded.

'My personal bodyguard, a man in his late twenties, is playing in a puddle like a toddler?' The scene was so bizarre he could hardly believe his eyes.

"Hey!"

He finally got out of the car, opened an umbrella, and walked over, shouting at Huang Wenzhi.

But Huang Wenzhi completely ignored him.

"Shit, what's wrong with him?"

Wang Kai was getting annoyed. He, the great young master of the Wang Group, couldn't even handle his own bodyguard? If word of this got out, he'd be a laughingstock.

At that thought, Wang Kai's expression hardened. He decided it was time to teach Huang Wenzhi a lesson, lest the brute forget his place just because he knew a little martial arts.
