Chapter 90: You Will Regret It
At the mention of these two names, Lin Chuyue's expression darkened.
Now, nearly everyone in Jiangcheng thought she was deeply involved with those two men.
But in reality, she had only met them a few times. The most she'd ever done was have a meal with Huo Wenhao.
Beyond that, nothing inappropriate had ever happened.
Seeing her silence, Xu Fang assumed he was right, and his contempt grew. "Lin Chuyue, don't think you can marry into a wealthy family just because you have a pretty face."
"For a tramp like you, the fact that I've taken an interest is a blessing. Don't be so shameless and ungrateful!"
With that, he lunged for Lin Chuyue's hand for a third time.
The lewd, vulgar look in his eyes was completely unconcealed!
Enraged, Lin Chuyue raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face.
"Get out!"
He had always hidden it so well. Lin Chuyue had genuinely thought Xu Fang was a perfect gentleman; she never imagined he could be so nauseating!
Xu Fang clutched his face. Instead of anger, he felt a surge of desire to conquer her.
"Lin Chuyue, you'll regret this."
Lin Chuyue grabbed her handbag, her expression icy. "I'll never regret hitting an animal like you!"
"As of today, you're fired. The Lin Group doesn't need an animal in human skin like you!"
With that, she rose to leave.
Xu Fang let out a cold laugh. "Lin Chuyue, if you dare walk out of here today, believe it or not, the Lin Group's secrets will be all over the internet tomorrow!"
Lin Chuyue stopped in her tracks, her face grim.
She whipped her head around. "I made you a company executive because I trusted you!"
"And you used that opportunity to steal company secrets! That's a crime!"
"Do you have any proof I did it?" Xu Fang sneered, not worried in the slightest.
He had been very discreet and had covered all his tracks, ensuring he wouldn't be discovered.
Then he could just find someone to anonymously leak the Lin Group's secrets online.
Or, he could sell the secrets to a rival company. That would definitely put the Lin Family in a world of hurt!
Lin Chuyue's chest heaved, her anger uncontrollable. "What do you want?"
The Lin Group's secrets didn't just involve the Lin Family's own affairs; they also included the information of other families, companies, and individuals who used the Lin Clan's financial services.
If any of it were to be leaked, the consequences would be unimaginable.
The breach-of-contract penalties alone would be enough to shake the Lin Family to its foundations!
Xu Fang pointed to his red, swollen cheek, rose to his feet, and advanced on Lin Chuyue.
"I've always had a soft spot for beautiful women. You hit me, but I won't hit you back."
"But if you don't want trouble for the Lin Family, you'll be a good girl and come with me to a hotel."
As he spoke, Xu Fang took out a key card he had prepared in advance. It was for a suite in the hotel upstairs from the restaurant.
"Chuyue, just be with me once, and you'll see how good I can be."
"I'll show you what a real man is!"
"So what if Huo Wenhao and Yuan Tiancheng are rich? They're not necessarily better than me where it counts!"
With that, he reached out to lift her chin.
She immediately pulled away, her stomach churning in disgust. "In your dreams!"
"You won't come with me?"
Xu Fang's expression suddenly turned sinister. "Then you'd better be prepared to clean up the Lin Family's mess!"
"What I have can not only make the Lin Clan teeter on the brink of collapse, it can destroy your entire enterprise!"
"Leaking client information is a serious business. Once word gets out, do you think anyone will ever want to partner with the Lin Clan again?"
He was a top executive, after all; he knew exactly where to strike to bring her to her knees.
There was no way Lin Chuyue would submit to him, but having a complete falling out right now wasn't a good option either.
So she simply said, "I need to think about it."
"Fine. I'll give you two days to think it over."
Xu Fang wasn't at all worried that Lin Chuyue was just stalling.
His work had been flawless. Besides, he didn't just have one backup.
"Lin Chuyue, don't even think about trying anything funny behind my back."
Xu Fang pulled out a USB drive, his face smug. "See this? I have several of them. Plus one in my email, already scheduled to be sent automatically."
"Oh, and I gave one to a friend. If he can't get in touch with me, he'll leak the files immediately!"
'He really thought of everything.'
Lin Chuyue had no choice but to play along. "Fine. I'll give you my answer in two days."
With that, she grabbed her bag and hurried away.
Xu Fang watched Lin Chuyue's charming figure retreat. He wasn't in a hurry. 'Sooner or later, she'll be mine.'
'The longer the wait, the sweeter the meal.'
「The Lin Family Estate.」
For the first time, Lin Chuyue was truly panicking. The Lin Clan had faced many business crises, but this was by far the most severe.
She rushed to the study and even summoned the recuperating Lin Aoshan to help her figure out a solution.
"Grandpa, what should I do? He has our Lin Clan's secrets. If he really leaks them, we'll be in huge trouble!"
"I've done the math. The penalties for breach of contract will be at least several hundred million, and the long-term impact on the Lin Group will be immense. We'll probably never find another partner."
Lin Aoshan's expression was also grave. "This is no small matter. You were too careless, Chuyue. How could you let an outsider handle the Lin Clan's confidential information?"
Lin Chuyue shook her head. 'I'm gifted and intelligent. How could I possibly entrust something so important to an outsider?'
"He must have stolen the secrets! But I just checked the last few days of the company's surveillance footage on my phone, and I didn't find anything."
Lin Aoshan mulled it over for a moment, then slapped his thigh. "Get Xiao Ye!"
Lin Chuyue's brows knitted together. "Why him?"
"Xiao Ye will have a way! He knows a lot of people. He can probably find a computer genius."
"If you can't find anything on the surveillance footage, it's highly likely he erased it or used some other trick."
But Lin Chuyue still shook her head. "Grandpa, can you stop having such blind faith in Xiao Ye?"
"He's just a Daoist who came down from the mountains. I can understand you saying he knows martial arts or medicine."
"After all, those skills are somewhat related to Daoist practices. But saying he knows a computer genius? That's just ridiculous!"
Lin Chuyue sighed heavily and helped Lin Aoshan back to his room. "Grandpa, you've given me an idea, though. I'll go find a computer expert to see what's going on."
After tucking Lin Aoshan in, she left.
The moment she stepped out the door, she saw Xiao Ye, and a sudden anger flared within her.
'If he hadn't insisted on staying at the Lin residence, I never would have been in this position, nearly taken advantage of by Xu Fang!'
'Ultimately, this is all his fault!'
"What are you doing here? Go back to your room."
Having said her piece, Lin Chuyue turned and walked away.
Xiao Ye had already overheard their conversation. He raised an eyebrow slightly, then pulled out his phone and dialed Huo Wenhao's number.
"Find a computer expert—the best you can get—and have them help Lin Chuyue."
