Chapter 266 267: Alluring Beauty, Dying Confession
Li Huiran's charm needed no introduction. Even in the most ordinary professional attire, she was a stunning sight. Though she no longer had soft, long hair, her current ear-length bob gave her a sharp, dashing look and a different kind of appeal.
The petite yet curvaceous figure of Xiaoyu next to her was a type many men dreamed of. Add to that Xuan Kexin's short skirt and stockings, and her own considerable good looks, and the trio was a dangerous combination in the 'Red Apocalypse.' Such a group could easily stir desires and impulses men wouldn't normally dare to entertain.
Sensing the danger, Li Huiran hurried the group forward.
But they hadn't walked for two minutes before a dozen or so young thugs armed with sharp weapons blocked their path.
These thugs were used to running wild, and in this apocalypse, they were like fish in water, their lawlessness completely unchecked.
The four of them had just thought to retreat when more thugs surrounded them, cutting off their escape.
Li Huiran cursed under her breath, "Kexin, why are you wearing something so revealing in the middle of winter!"
Though Xuan Kexin's face was pale with fear, she refused to back down. "This is my Divine Artifact against the cold! How is it revealing? It's your looks that attract all the flies. You're the one who lured them here!"
The two had been close classmates, and in this final moment, it was as if they had shed their professional roles and reverted to their school days.
The leader of the thugs was named Scorpion, simply because he had a scorpion tattooed on his cheek.
He was holding a three-foot-long machete, and he licked his lips, his eyes glinting with lecherous amusement. "Now, now, my two beauties, no need to blame each other," he taunted. "I could smell your fragrance from a mile away. Today, you all belong to me. You can fight over it once we're in bed!"
Li Huiran and Xuan Kexin instantly looked at Xiaoyu, because she was the only one who had worn perfume that day.
Tears instantly welled up in Xiaoyu's eyes. She frantically shook her head and waved her hands. "It wasn't me! It wasn't me!"
Scorpion roared, "Enough of this fucking squabbling! If you don't want to suffer, you'll come with us quietly!"
The thugs were numerous and powerful; the four of them didn't dare resist. Even Xiaoye, the man of the group, didn't dare make a sound.
Li Huiran shot the others a look, signaling them to wait for the right opportunity, then nodded at Scorpion.
Scorpion sneered. "Handcuff them!"
The thugs produced handcuffs from who-knows-where and cuffed all four of them with their hands behind their backs.
The four were shoved into a small alley. There, Li Huiran saw an unmanned adult novelty store and realized the handcuffs were likely sex toys.
At the end of the alley was a shabby motel, now completely deserted. One of the thugs rooted around behind the front desk, pulled out a key card, and handed it to Scorpion with a fawning smile. "Boss, the bed in this room is huge. Big enough for all three of them at once!"
Scorpion took the key card, understanding perfectly. He laughed. "Not bad, kid. After I've had my fun, you're second in line."
He turned to the three women with a lewd grin. "Alright, my three lovely ladies, let's go!"
Xiaoye shook his head and shouted, "Don't go—!"
Before he could finish, Scorpion kicked him hard in the stomach. Xiaoye doubled over like a shrimp.
The three women were terrified now. A single kick had taken down a big man like Xiaoye. If a kick like that landed on them, they were sure they'd be crying their eyes out.
"Don't even think about pulling any tricks on me! Cooperate if you don't want to die!" Scorpion threatened, drawing his machete.
Room 101 was the first one in the ground-floor hallway. Scorpion used the key card to open the door and laughed heartily. "Carry them in!"
The gang of lackeys looked incredibly excited, their faces splitting into lewd, malicious grins.
A scar-faced thug, who had been eyeing Li Huiran for a while, was the first to move, reaching to grab her.
Just as he was about to get his hands on her, Xiaoye, who had been on the floor, surged to his feet and slammed into him, sending him flying into the other thugs. The motel's cramped space worked against them; with Scarface blocking the way, the thugs couldn't get a clear swing at Xiaoye and ended up in a tangled heap.
After shoving Scarface aside, Xiaoye charged straight for Scorpion.
Scorpion's face twisted into a sneer. Even if his men couldn't get to him immediately, he could easily handle a mild-mannered office worker like this. Without hesitation, he swung the machete viciously at Xiaoye.
Xiaoye raised his cuffed hands, trying to block the blade with the chain. It turned out that in the few moments he was on the ground, he had managed to slip his bound hands from behind his back, under his feet, and to his front.
But he was no match for Scorpion's strength. Even though he slowed the blade's momentum, the edge still sliced deep into his shoulder.
Blood spurted out. Xiaoye's desolate cry rang out, "Get in the room!"
If you couldn't help, the best you could do was not be a burden. The three women were no fools. They scrambled into Room 101.
"Close the door! Don't worry about me! Close the door!" Xiaoye yelled again, clinging tightly to Scorpion's arm.
Scorpion grabbed Xiaoye's hair with his other hand and slammed his head against the wall.
Li Huiran hesitated for a fraction of a second, but Xuan Kexin was already slamming the door shut, decisively throwing the deadbolt.
From outside the door came the sound of Xiaoye's head hitting the wall: THUD, THUD, THUD!
Through the door, Xiaoye's strained shouts came between the thuds. "President Li, I love you! I'm begging you... you have to escape!"
"Fuck, confessing his love as he's dying? Playing the hero, are you? Let's see you play hero now! Keep it up!" Scorpion's curses were accompanied by the vibrations against the wall.
Li Huiran stood frozen in place.
Xiaoyu and Xuan Kexin, however, fell into deep despair. The room didn't even have a window, only a small ventilation fan set into the ceiling three meters up. Escape was impossible.
It had become a sealed room, and they were birds trapped in a cage. The bed in the room, however, was indeed quite large.
