Heavenly Illusions

Chapter 34- Su Jin’s Predicament

A distance away from the disciple’s encampment was a stretch of clearing spanning several hundred meters. Crossing this clearing one would enter a rather large forest called Crescent Moon Forest. This was because it encircled almost half the continent in a crescent moon shape.

At the edge of the Crescent Moon Forest, just out of reach of the numerous campfires lit by the Earthly Spear Immortal Sect disciples, two figures were entangled in the darkness, only illuminated by the faint moonlight seeping through the foliage above.

“N—No, Elder Hong Mei, you can’t!”

The cry of a young boy’s voice echoed in this area of the forest, sounding extremely pitiful and distressed.

Pressed up against a rather large tree, was a boy who looked no more than twelve or thirteen. Despite his young age one could tell at a glance he would grow up to be incredibly handsome, unfortunately, his cheeks still had a bit of baby fat, which currently gave one the impression that he was excessively delicate and cute.

Using the faint moonlight, one could tell he was wearing the Earthly Spear Immortal Sect’s white robes, which should have made him look like a young, spirited youth. However, at this moment, those robes were in a disheveled mess, with the belt loose and its collar wide open, revealing a section of his fair collar bone and slender shoulders. Coupled with his tear-filled eyes and flushed chubby cheeks, if anyone saw his current appearance it would make one feel as though they were seeing something they shouldn’t.

However, the culprit across from the youth didn’t seem to think so. Instead, their eyes only grew increasingly intense as they stared at the youth.

The culprit wore a black male martial art’s attire, completely different from the youth’s white robes. This made their figure blend into the shadow of the trees around them, but the faint moonlight managed to slightly illuminate their face, and their smooth black hair, that was tied in a high ponytail.

How should one put it? This person’s face was both outrageously beautiful and devilishly handsome. With a single glance, one would be unable to tell if they were an excessively handsome boy with a bit of feminine features, or an incredibly beautiful girl who was dressed as a boy.

But at this moment, this person with an androgynous appearance spoke, and it was the voice of a girl.

“Junior Brother Su Jin, I told you to just call me senior Sister Mei. Why act so distant?”

As Hong Mei said this, she used her right hand to gently caress Su Jin’s cheek. Her other hand was busy holding both of Su Jin’s hands above his head.

Su Jin shuddered from Hong Mei’s touch, while goosebumps pop up on his entire body. He wanted to badly escape this situation, but he was simply powerless against this old hag.

“Elder Hong Mei, you really can’t do this...”

Su Jin still refused to call this person Senior Sister, he even wanted to yell to the heavens that he didn’t have a Senior Sister like this!

Hong Mei looked at Su Jin, her face filled with heartache.

“Junior Brother Su Jin, I’ve pursued you for so long. Can’t you tell how sincere I am? I only have you in my heart, won’t you consider becoming my Dao Companion?”

With tears hanging on his lashes, Su Jin looked up at Hong Mei and spoke earnestly.

“Elder Hong Mei, we can’t. How can we become Dao Companions? Our ages are so vastly apart that you could be my grandmother!.”

Su Jin saw Elder Hong Mei frown when he mentioned her age, so he hurriedly added.

“Really, we can’t! What would my grandfather think? And what would the disciples of the Earthly Spear Immortal Sect think? It’s simply impossible for us to become Dao Companions, Elder Hong Mei. Plus, I— I am too young to think about these things. I only want to focus on my cultivation right now, not get into a relationship.”

After saying this, Su Jin looked at Hong Mei’s expression cautiously. His current situation was truly too tragic.

Elder Hong Mei’s status in the Earthly Spear Immortal Sect was rather unique. She was from the lineage of the Sect’s Immortal Ancestor’s in-laws. Although her background couldn’t compare to his own, which was the second Young Master of the Su Clan, and the younger brother of the Earthly Spear Immortal Sect’s Holy Son, she had a rather special constitution called the Extreme Ice Dao Spirit Physique.

This physique was 18th on the Dao Physique Rankings.

To get an idea of how incredible this was, the Dao Physique Rankings consisted of 116 known Dao Physiques across the numerous Human Realms. And just having the weakest Dao Physique at the 116th position would ensure one reached the Body Integration Stage without any bottlenecks!

So, one could only imagine how valuable Hong Mei, who had a Dao Physique in the top twenty, was to the Earthly Spear Immortal Sect.

She was treated like a future Immortal, being extremely pampered left and right, not just in the Sect, but in his Su Clan as well. Anything she wanted was brought to her before her request could even fully leave her mouth.

If it wasn’t for the fact that her Dao Physique had met with an accident in the past that trapped her in an ice cocoon for several hundred years, it wouldn’t be his brother’s turn to be the Sect’s Holy Son.

Given all of this, one could understand why Su Jin was so distressed. If he had known that this little ancestor, who had popped out of her icicle, would fall in love with him when he went with his brother and grandfather to meet her for the first time, he would never have gone in the first place.

That was nearly a year ago, and since then, this little ancestor had been secretly sneaking into his courtyard to aggressively pursue him.

Su Jin had wanted to use this trip to the Secret Realm to escape her pursuit, but who would have thought that she would sneak out of the Sect and chase him all the way here to corner him?

Why did he have to come to this remote area to pee? He should have just held it in!

Looking at this old but young-looking ancestor, who had gone silent due to his rejection, Su Jin felt a rush of anxiety in his heart.

Actually, he had already told his grandfather about this matter, but the answer he got chilled his heart, and that was to consider this little ancestor’s courtship.

He didn’t want to! He really didn’t want to get eaten up by this old little ancestor! He was still so young, how could his grandfather think this was right?!

After a tense silence, Hong Mei finally spoke.

“Junior Brother Su Jin, could it be that you like boys and not girls? Is that why you are unwilling to become my Dao Companion?”

“Eh?!”

Su Jin’s eyes couldn’t help but widen abruptly. He stared at Hong Mei in disbelief and opened his mouth but unable to respond.
