Heavenly Illusions

Chapter 15- “Playing”

“Are you sure we’re almost there?”

Xai Lin’s exasperated voice broke through the intense wind around them and clearly entered An Mo’s ear, who was flying next to her.

“Of course! It’s just up ahead!”

An Mo said excitedly as he flapped his wings and did a few small maneuvers around Xai Lin, not at all looking as tired as her.

After making their plan and setting off, the two of them had been flying for two days with barely any rest between. It took them over half a day to leave the Great Forest territory and enter this Wild Desert area. Now, after a day and night of travel, they were finally about to leave this godforsaken place. Xai Lin was already tired of the intense heat that was tightly wrapped around her eagle form.

The next territory they were about to enter was their destination, and it was a Grassland area.

According to what An Mo said, this place was filled with grass-covered mountains and crystal-clear valley rivers. He also said it was twice as large as the Great Forest and Wild Desert area. Maybe it was as big as those two territories combined.

Their target was a particular Spirit Beast within this territory that had a special bloodline ability. If they could obtain a drop of its blood, then Xai Lin would be able to use this ability to bypass the restriction seal on the Low-level Dimensional fold and bring An Mo out.

Just as An Mo said, after a few more minutes of flying, Xai Lin indeed saw the dreary brown sand on the horizon turning into a vibrant green color.

Without the slightest hint of hesitation, she flapped her broad wings even more intensely and shot forward.

An Mo, who had been quite leisurely, scrambled to catch up to her. After flying above her, he carefully pressed one of his crow legs onto her back and the two vanished, leaving only a few black feathers to scatter in the wind.

Over a thousand meters away, An Mo and Xai Lin’s figures appeared.

Slightly disorientated, Xai Lin had to flap her wings several times to regain her composure. Looking around and seeing nothing but a vast grassland ahead, and a desert behind her, she slowly turned her head to stare at An Mo. The look in her eyes made it seem like she wanted to bite his head off.

An Mo, who had been in a happy mood ever since they set off, felt a sinister gaze falling on him from behind and it caused all the feathers on his body to stand up. Without even turning around to look, he knew this gaze came from Xai Lin.

Without a second thought, he vanished in a puff of black feathers and appeared on the ground below.

The second after he teleported away, Xai Lin’s talons arrived where he was, however, the person was already gone.

Upon seeing that she had only caught those dissipating black feathers, Xai Lin’s temper flared.

“AN MO!!!”

Xai Lin’s voice exploded in the sky above An Mo’s head.

Having transformed into his human form, An Mo looked up at the enraged Xai Lin and after letting out a childish snicker, he turned and dashed off. His small but was fully exposed without any shame as he ran.

Seeing him like this, Xai Lin glared down at him. But after a few seconds, she could only let out a frustrated sigh. Fine, just let him be. It was her fault for not thinking of using his ability to reach their destination instead of flying for two days.

However, thinking of her time flying through that desert, Xai Lin clenched her small teeth and flapped her wings to catch up to An Mo.

While running through the grassy knee-high field, An Mo’s bright orange hair flapped around wildly, looking like a puffed-up dandelion that was about to scatter in the wind.

He wasn’t running fast so Xai Lin caught up to him quite quickly. Just after reaching him, she transformed back into her human form, and using the momentum of her flight, she lunged at him.

The moment An Mo was about to get tackled he suddenly turned around and caught Xai Lin.

With a loud “thud” the two collided and fell to the ground. Only after rolling a few dozen meters in the grass did they stop, with Xai Lin on top.

Without hesitation, Xai Lin leaned down and bit into An Mo’s shoulder.

“Hiss! Xai Lin, are you a dog?!”

Immediately after cursing, An Mo began to laugh. Clearly, he wasn’t angry at Xai Lin’s actions. In fact, he seemed to be enjoying it, or rather, enjoying Xai Lin’s attention.

Upon realizing this, Xai Lin released her mouth and gave up on biting. While licking the golden blood from the corner of her lips, she leaned back and looked at the bite mark on An Mo’s neck to see that it was healing at a visible speed.

Xai Lin couldn’t help but clicked her tongue internally when she saw this.

‘It must be good to have such a physical body.’

Since using physical injury to get this brat to behave was out of the question, Xai Lin reached out and gripped one of those small, pink objects on An Mo’s chest.

An Mo, who had been observing Xai Lin silently with a smile, had his expression froze on his face when she suddenly began pinching one of his nipples.

“You—What are you doing?”

An Mo began to fidget under Xai Lin.

It wasn’t that it hurt when she did it, it’s just that the way she pinched it was weird.

Soon, it didn’t take long for An Mo’s small face to become flush red.

Xai Lin was silently observing An Mo’s reactions, and when she saw his cute little face turning red, a small smile appeared on the corner of her lips. Her fingertips suddenly shifted, and her actions became even more subtle.

Her nail would scrape down forcefully from the middle, before her finger flicked up suddenly. She did this repeatedly, while interspersing it with both hard and soft movements.

An Mo’s flush quickly spread to his entire body, and he was no longer able to handle Xai Lin’s teasing.

“No! Alright, I give up!”

An Mo wanted to grab Xai Lin’s hand, but Xai Lin reacted quickly and pinned his arms above his head. The hand she was using was glowing with black symbols.

An Mo was stunned for a moment, but he quickly came back to his senses and began to struggle.

“H-Hey! Wait!”

Xai Lin, who had been silent until now, finally spoke.

“Oh? Why should I?”

“I—Fine, I won’t fool around anymore. Afterall, we still have important business to accomplish. Now—Now let me go!”

“Hah? Now you know we have important business to accomplish? Where was this motivation when you were leading me around the Wild Desert territory for an entire day and night?”
