Action

Admiral Aella was unimpressed to be asked to bring fire-wielding, noble-born Salamanders across the known world to their island home. She was even more unimpressed to find herself attracted to the countess.
Nereida just wanted to get home, after half a lifetime abroad. She had not planned on falling for an ornery admiral.
Betrayal, dragons, and, most importantly, love, lay on the horizon for them both.
A high-magic, high adventure love story. There is darkness as much as light, and difficult topics are plentiful (see content warnings).
This story is going to be long, with shorter chapters.
Update Schedule: Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 1215 pm EST
    What to Expect:
Part 1: (Testing the Waters) Aella and Nereida learn to navigate their budding relationship. Slow burn at first. Travelling the seas is dangerous, and they encounter many perils. Part 1 is chapters 1-54 and the story can be stopped there for readers who do not want to go deeper. (Complete)
Part 2: (Dangerous Tides) Picking up where part 1 ended, Aella and Nereida find themselves thrust onto a magical quest involving dragons as they continue to try and reach Nereida's home. Their relationship continues to develop but there is more action and adventure in this section. (Chapters 55-109, complete)
Part 3: (Standing Waters) Picking up at the end of Part 2, Nereida and Aella finally find themselves in Lagrias. But the King is unhappy with his errant daughter's return. They must face assassination attempts, blackmail, court politics, clashing  social mores and the machinations of the Dragon of Stars.  (Chapters 110-153, complete!)
Part 4: (Tides Ebb and Flow) Back on the sea, Nereida and Aella are off to discover what the Demons are poisoning folks with, while contending with the return of the other Great Dragons. The Ocean and the Moon, meanwhile, seem to be playing their own game.  High seas adventures,  meddling Great Dragons and stolen tender moments are to be expected in this section. (Chapters 154-? arriving Aug 10th)
