Zhang Kai glanced at Yu Xian inside the bubble and got curious. "Are you training your ability?"

Yu Xian sighed. "No. The exact opposite, actually. Something's gone a little wrong with my ability, so I can only stay like this for now."

Zhang Kai pulled up outside a small tavern. The two of them got out and headed inside, where Zhang Kai immediately ordered their food with practiced ease. He was clearly a regular.

Zhang Kai laughed. "I like three dishes in this place. Their lamb chops are fresh and seriously satisfying. Their chewy beef tendon stew and braised pork belly are pretty good too."

Yu Xian smiled. "Don't start hyping it up yet. I have Super Gustation. Whether it's good or not is for me to decide."

Zhang Kai was smug. "Heh. I brought you here precisely because I know you have Super Gustation. Do you know who their chef is?"

Yu Xian said nothing and waited for Zhang Kai to continue.

Zhang Kai declared, deadpan, "The chef here supposedly inherited the legacy of the Food God. One of his abilities is the Food God's Tongue, which lets him distinguish even the tiniest changes in flavor between ingredients."

Yu Xian grumbled. "There are at least eight hundred thousand people across the country claiming they inherited the Food God's legacy, if not a million. Come on."

Zhang Kai smiled. "This place is different. Anyway, I think it's pretty legit."

Just then, two servers brought over the lamb chops. Zhang Kai immediately urged Yu Xian to dig in. Once Yu Xian took a bite and nodded to show that it was good, the two of them started eating with great enthusiasm.

When the braised pork belly and two vegetable dishes were served, Zhang Kai said to the server, "Excuse me, could you bring me a bottle of green plum wine? Oh, right, you're not eighteen yet. Bring a can of juice too."
