Chapter 176 - 173: Hu Yinjiu’s Qiankun Bag
"Huangfu Jianchen couldn’t kill you, but believe it or not, I can!"
Ye Xing narrowed his eyes, a cold glint flashing within.
"Hahaha! Big words, kid. Aren’t you afraid you’ll bite your tongue? Your Hidden Weapons are indeed impressive, but they can’t hurt me in the slightest. At best, they’re only useful against Postnatal Realm Martial Artists." The old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, sneered as his gaze swept warily around the mansion. "Where is that expert of yours? Tell him to come out!"
"What expert? I already told you, I have the highest Cultivation in this mansion. There are no other experts!" Ye Xing said with a laugh. "Why won’t you believe me?" The so-called ’expert’ was, of course, the sound system—a dozen large speakers. Ye Xing had set up so many speakers as a feint, a psychological tactic to disrupt Hu Yinjiu’s focus and train of thought. The old man in black had never seen a sound system from Earth and assumed the immense sound was produced by an Innate Realm expert using their Inner Power True Qi.
"Hmph, all the better if he doesn’t come out. I’ll just kill you right now!" the old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, barked, charging straight for Ye Xing.
The old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, was surging with Qi Force and radiating killing intent. Beside Ye Xing, the Demon Beast, a Gale Leopard, was incredibly tense. Its eyes were fixed ahead, ready to carry Ye Xing away to escape at a moment’s notice.
"Gale, don’t be nervous." Ye Xing gently patted the Gale Leopard’s head to calm it down. A faint smile curved his lips as his gaze fell upon an inconspicuous copper plate on the ground ahead. He muttered to himself, "Three... two... one!"
Just as Ye Xing counted to "one," suddenly—
"AHH!"
A blood-curdling scream suddenly erupted.
The old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, had stepped right on the copper plate. The plate was inconspicuous, its color nearly identical to the ground, making it almost impossible to see without looking closely. As Hu Yinjiu charged, his gaze was fixed on the mansion’s surroundings, on guard against a sneak attack from the ’Innate Expert’ he believed was lurking within the Ye Mansion. He hadn’t noticed at all that his foot had landed squarely on the copper plate.
In truth, even if Hu Yinjiu had noticed the copper plate, he wouldn’t have paid it much mind. In his eyes, what threat could a single copper plate possibly pose?
And so, in the middle of his charge toward Ye Xing, he stepped right on it.
Instantly—
"BZZZT! SZZZZZLE!"
The old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, convulsed violently, every hair on his body standing on end. His eyes filled with absolute terror as his body trembled uncontrollably, his skin rapidly charring black.
That’s right. The copper plate was electrified!
Innate Realm experts were terrifyingly powerful. Bullets couldn’t kill them, machine guns couldn’t kill them, and even bombs could only wound them. That was because Innate Realm experts had True Essence to protect their bodies, allowing them to form a thin Innate Protective Shield on their skin that minimized the power of an explosion. At the same time, their Innate True Essence could be released from their bodies, forming Innate Sword Qi to strike bullets out of the sky. Therefore, while modern weapons like firearms and ammunition were incredibly effective against Postnatal Realm Martial Artists from the First to Ninth Layer, they had minimal effect on Innate Realm experts.
Electricity, however, was a different story. The human body itself is a conductor. The moment someone is electrocuted, the current invades their entire body, ravaging their internal organs.
The copper plate was live—and not just with any current, but a powerful one. Dozens of generators, linked together, formed a terrifyingly strong electrical current that surged into Hu Yinjiu’s body and instantly tore through his heart.
The human body’s reaction to electric current is as follows: at 8 to 10 milliamps, it’s difficult to pull one’s hands and feet away from the electrode, with a sensation of intense pain (in the finger joints). At 20 to 25 milliamps, the hand is rapidly paralyzed, making it impossible to let go, and breathing becomes difficult. At 50 to 80 milliamps, breathing becomes severely difficult, and the atria begin to fibrillate. At 90 to 100 milliamps, respiratory paralysis occurs, and after three seconds, the heart itself becomes paralyzed and stops beating.
Ye Xing estimated that the current running through the copper plate was at least a thousand milliamps. Not even the powerful Life Force of an Innate Realm expert could possibly withstand such a terrifying current, produced by dozens of generators linked together.
"Lightning...? It’s... not... raining... Where did the... thunder and lightning... come from!" With a THUD, Hu Yinjiu collapsed, falling rigidly to the ground.
The faint, acrid smell of burnt flesh hung in the air. Hu Yinjiu’s skin was charred black, and within moments, all signs of life had faded.
Black smoke wafted from the corpse. His eyes were wide open, filled with extreme indignation, terror, and confusion, as if he couldn’t comprehend how he had died.
’Is he dead? He should be. Damn it, it’d be a miracle if he survived a current that strong! Still... better to be safe. I’ll put a bullet in him just in case. I’m not about to get careless and screw this up now.’ Gazing at Hu Yinjiu’s charred corpse on the ground, Ye Xing pulled out his pistol, aimed at the spot between the old man’s eyebrows, and pulled the trigger.
"BANG!"
The gunshot rang out. The bullet tore through the air and vanished into the space between Hu Yinjiu’s eyebrows.
A few drops of blood spattered out. A finger-sized, bloody hole appeared on Hu Yinjiu’s forehead, and warm blood trickled down.
"Phew, he’s finally dead!"
Looking at Hu Yinjiu’s body on the ground, now deader than dead, Ye Xing let out a long sigh of relief and immediately switched off the power.
’It was impossible not to be nervous when facing a powerful Innate Realm expert. Even though I looked calm, my palms were slick with cold sweat. I was eighty to ninety percent sure the high-voltage current would work, but I still couldn’t control my nerves. If it hadn’t killed Hu Yinjiu, my only choice would have been to escape on the Gale Leopard. Would I have had to do another parachute drop?’
Fortunately, the electricity hadn’t let him down.
"Who the hell says it has to thunder and rain for there to be electricity? How could an ignorant hick like you ever understand the power of technology? Let me tell you, where there are generators, there’s electricity! A hundred thousand volts to fry your ass!" Ye Xing shouted, finally venting all the rage he had been suppressing. "So what if you’re an Innate Realm expert? You still died by my hand! You old bastard, so arrogant, weren’t you? You dared to touch my Little Mengmeng, so I fucking killed you!"
As he continued to curse, Ye Xing began searching Hu Yinjiu’s corpse. He quickly found the old man’s Qiankun Bag.
’Innate Realm experts are really on another level.’ The moment he saw this Qiankun Bag, Ye Xing knew its quality was far superior to his three small, Lower-grade Qiankun Bags.
’Damn, this has to be a Mid-grade Qiankun Bag!’ Ye Xing’s eyes lit up with joy. The internal space of a Mid-grade Qiankun Bag was ten times, or even more, than that of a Lower-grade one. The bag alone was an incredible treasure. Mid-grade Qiankun Bags were the kind of item that had a price but no market; the auctions at the Ten Thousand Treasures Tower almost exclusively sold Lower-grade ones, making Mid-grade bags nearly impossible to acquire.
’I’ve struck it rich! I wonder what’s inside this Qiankun Bag. The fortune of an Innate Realm expert should be immense. And wouldn’t it be great if I could learn Hu Yinjiu’s Disguise Technique!’ Ye Xing’s eyes filled with anticipation, his heart pounding with excitement. Unable to wait another moment, he quickly bit his index finger and dripped a drop of blood onto the Qiankun Bag.
