Chapter 175 - 172: Rolling Sound Waves
True Qi is a peculiar form of energy. When used to project one’s voice, the sound radiates in all directions like rolling sonic waves, becoming incredibly loud. Consequently, the more profound a Martial Artist’s Inner Strength, the louder their voice becomes and the farther it travels.
The voice that suddenly echoed through the Ye Mansion could only be described as a clap of thunder. It stunned Hu Yinjiu, freezing him in place.
Just then, Ye Xing stepped into the front courtyard, a Treasure Sword hanging from his waist.
"So, you’re not dead after all, boy!" The old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, fixed his gaze on Ye Xing.
"Heh, I was just lucky," Ye Xing said with a smile.
"To think a cliff thousands of feet high wasn’t enough to kill you... I’m truly surprised." The old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, remained vigilant as he asked Ye Xing, "Who was that speaking just now?"
"Just now? Oh, that was me. I was the one speaking with you, Elder Hu!" Ye Xing said with a slight smile, shrugging. The voice from a moment ago had indeed been Ye Xing’s. The only reason it had been so loud was that over a dozen large speakers had been installed around the Ye Mansion’s front courtyard. Ye Xing had been hiding in the back, shouting into a microphone, which naturally made his voice boom like thunder. He had also intentionally altered his tone to sound hoarse and ancient.
"Impossible! A boy like you, merely at the Martial Arts Third Realm, how could you possess such profound Inner Strength?" The old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, frowned and said in a low voice, "Is there another Innate Realm expert hidden in this mansion?" Before stepping into the Ye Mansion, Hu Yinjiu had thought that killing this detestable boy to sate his hatred would be simple. Now, however, he didn’t dare to underestimate this reckless brat. Based on the voice he’d just heard, he could tell its owner possessed an Inner Strength so profound it might not be inferior to his own. In other words, it was highly likely a master was hiding within the Ye Mansion.
"Nope. I’m the one with the highest cultivation in the entire Ye Mansion! I don’t know any other Innate Realm experts. To date, I’ve only ever met two: you, Elder Hu, and Huangfu Jianchen!" Ye Xing suddenly feigned surprise. "Hey, Elder Hu, aren’t you on the run from Huangfu Jianchen? What are you doing here at my Ye Mansion?"
"Hmph. Huangfu Jianchen is indeed stronger than me, but killing me won’t be that easy for him," the old man in black, Hu Yinjiu, snorted.
"Oh? Is that so?" Ye Xing’s gaze fell to the old man’s abdomen as he smiled. "Then what’s the story behind that sword wound on your waist, Elder Hu?"
Sure enough, there was a sword wound on Hu Yinjiu’s waist, wrapped in a white cloth bandage. The injury did not look minor.
Hu Yinjiu’s expression shifted. "It was indeed Huangfu Jianchen who did this. I fought him just five or six shichen ago. As expected of the Cold Moon Palace’s Head Disciple, his power is immense. I was badly injured before I could finally shake him off my trail."
"Tsk, tsk. You’re already injured, so what are you doing here?"
"I came here to take your life, of course. After I kill you, I’ll flee the country immediately. You wretched boy must die. If you hadn’t interfered last time, the Celestial Snow Saintess would already be dead at my hands!" the old man said, his tone chilling.
At Hu Yinjiu’s words, Ye Xing’s gaze turned even colder.
"What grudge could Mengxue possibly have with you? Why must you hunt her down and kill her?!" Ye Xing’s voice was frigid, his eyes like ice. ’A fire of rage burned in his heart; Ye Xing would never allow anyone to harm his Mengxue.’
"I have no personal grudge against the Celestial Snow Saintess. Her only fault is being from the Cold Moon Palace." Hu Yinjiu’s voice was grim. "My feud with the Cold Moon Palace will not end until one of us is destroyed. The next time I see the Celestial Snow Saintess, I will strike again to kill her."
"Ridiculous! It’s all because the woman you loved was executed by the Cold Moon Palace Master. Every injustice has its source, and every debt has its debtor. If you have the guts, go settle your score with the Palace Master herself! Mengxue is just a disciple of the Cold Moon Palace. Why must you torment her?!" Ye Xing retorted coldly.
"What do you know, boy? If she were just some ordinary disciple, I wouldn’t waste my time. But the Celestial Snow Saintess is a Direct Disciple of that bitch, Youyue! She’s the most likely successor to become the next Cold Moon Palace Master. Only by killing the Celestial Snow Saintess will that bitch Youyue feel any pain." Hu Yinjiu gritted his teeth, his eyes wild with madness. "Even a flicker of her pain would be worth it!"
(Got home too late. I’m exhausted and have no energy. After thinking about it, I’ll release three Chapters tomorrow—morning, noon, and night!)
