Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 194: Decided to Go Abroad

"I see. I thought you were being bullied. Still, I’m glad we get to hang out again." Wendy Winters was overjoyed at the mere thought of Chloe York coming over. She climbed out of bed and sat on the balcony, gazing up at the moon outside.

"I was only told it was in Morvan. I don’t even know which university it is yet!" Chloe suddenly realized she hadn’t even had the chance to ask which school she would be attending.

"I think you might be coming to mine! I heard people saying today that there would be an exchange student coming from back home. I didn’t think it would be someone from Southbend University at the time, but now it really seems like it could be you!"

"It’d be even better if it were your school."

"It wouldn’t matter even if it isn’t. As long as you’re in Morvan, we’ll always be able to hang out. The country isn’t that big."

"Sounds good!"

"But if you do come, the students at my school will definitely be thrilled," Wendy said.

"Why?"

"Because you’re their idol! They all know about you saving someone in the bar and being the top scorer in the college entrance exam. When I first got here, they even asked me if I knew who you were. I said yes, but I didn’t tell them we were friends."

"Those are just minor things. How did word even reach overseas?" Chloe sounded somewhat helpless. She didn’t actually want to be famous, but sometimes she had no choice. She had only hoped for a little bit of recognition, never expecting to become a household name.

As she chatted with Wendy, she arrived home before she knew it. Considering it was nighttime on Wendy’s end, they ended the call shortly after she got back.

After freshening up, Chloe quickly drifted off to sleep. In stark contrast, Wendy was too excited to sleep. She even wondered if she was dreaming about Chloe saying she was coming to Morvan. She kept checking her chat window with Chloe over and over again. Only after seeing their chat history could she confirm that it was real and not just a dream.

After filling out the form her advisor had given her, Chloe’s spot as an exchange student abroad was officially finalized. The university then announced via its official account that she would be heading to Morvan as an exchange student.

The official announcement instantly shot to the top of the trending list, and many media outlets and accounts reposted the news to promote it. This was largely because the good deeds Chloe had done previously were still quite viral online. As a result, anything related to her that surfaced online would become a trending topic.

Taking the number one spot on the trending list once again, the news drew all kinds of comments. Haters also emerged; some felt Chloe’s decision to go abroad was pandering to foreigners, while others believed that with her current massive reputation, going overseas would bring glory to the country.

"Wow, our Chloe is going abroad to study! That’s awesome!"

"Chloe has already made a huge name for herself domestically, and now she’s going overseas to carve out her path. Chloe, let’s be a bad person abroad—no saving people!"

"Why go abroad? Is our own country not good enough? Why must she go overseas? In my opinion, the fame has just gone to her head."

"To the person above me: are you okay in the head? What’s wrong with her going abroad? Are other people allowed to go, but Chloe isn’t? Besides, Chloe going abroad also brings honor to our country. Do you know how many foreigners are her fans?"

"Alright, why are you guys worrying so much about whether she goes abroad or not? What’s there to argue about? Have those of you at work earned your money today? Have those of you in school finished your homework? You haven’t even sorted out your own affairs, yet you’re obsessing over this."

Chloe didn’t read these online comments. If she read them all and came across the negative ones, she would just feel miserable. Wasn’t that just asking for trouble? Besides, she lived her life for herself. She absolutely refused to let these strangers affect her.

"Dottie, didn’t you say she was the vicious female supporting character? Now she’s going abroad, and she even has fans overseas! How is she a vicious female supporting character? She’s clearly following the script of a main female protagonist!" Upon learning that Chloe was going abroad to study, Brooke York felt a deep sense of dissatisfaction and angrily questioned her system.

It claimed she was the female lead, but now the vicious supporting character was going abroad. What kind of useless female lead was she?!

"How could she be going abroad? If she leaves the country, the plot won’t be able to progress!" Dottie said. The system’s voice was filled with confusion. Although the current plot had deviated somewhat from the original storyline—no, the deviation was rather massive—as long as the necessary main characters were present, the plot could still steer back on track as it progressed.

Even though Chloe was just a vicious supporting character, the development of the plot and the romance between the male and female leads all relied on her to push things forward. If she left, there would be absolutely no way for the story to continue.

"You’re asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? You’re completely useless as a system. All you can do is detect lies and check if other people have systems. How does that help me? It’s completely useless." Brooke bombarded the system with complaints, her tone brimming with dissatisfaction.

Growing angrier by the second, she even brought up Chloe’s system. "Just look at Chloe’s system! She’s merely a vicious supporting character, yet her system is so incredibly powerful. It makes her smarter when she completes tasks, makes everyone view her in an entirely new light, gives her a great physique, and lets her save people and become famous. What’s the point of you not requiring me to complete tasks? I’d rather be bound to her system!"

"I’m sorry, Host. I’ve disappointed you. You can choose to unbind from me. Dottie won’t say a word about it," the system replied.

However, Brooke didn’t actually want to unbind. No matter how useless it was, it was still a system! If she lost her system, she would be completely different from Chloe, and she would have even less hope of winning.

"I’m not trying to blame you, but you’re just too useless. Don’t you think so yourself?"

"I do, but there’s nothing Dottie can do. My current functions are only lie detection and scanning for other people’s systems."

"Hurry up and unlock more functions. If you still can’t unlock anything useful later on, I’ll unbind you." Brooke resorted to threatening Dottie. She truly felt that if she didn’t threaten it, she would never be able to surpass Chloe.

What heights had Chloe reached now? She was at a level Brooke couldn’t even see if she craned her neck. And what about her? Was this all there was to the so-called female lead?

"Rest assured, Host. Dottie will work hard."

Brooke stopped talking. She wanted to give the system the cold shoulder to let it know just how angry and distrustful she was right now.

Since Brooke already knew, the others naturally knew as well. It was safe to say that aside from Wendy, who was jumping for joy, and Brooke, who was jumping with rage, everyone else was both happy and conflicted.

They were happy because, based on Chloe’s current trajectory, her future was truly limitless, and they genuinely wished her well. However, they were conflicted because if she went abroad, they didn’t know when they would see her again, and they worried they might become total strangers by the time they reunited.
