Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 130: Both of Them Are Trending

Alice Cole wasn’t one to back down. What she hated most was when Miles York blamed her alone for their child’s problems.

Miles York was furious. He pointed a finger at Alice Cole. "You... you still don’t see what you did wrong! If you hadn’t been so arrogant today, we wouldn’t have been humiliated this badly!"

Alice Cole was left speechless. Based on Brooke York’s previous grades, she truly believed—no matter how she thought about it—that Brooke should have scored over 600, not... this.

But it was useless to say anything more now. Miles York knew that today, the York Family had been utterly and completely humiliated.

Sure enough, that night, the York Family was all over the trending charts. First, it was Chloe York, then it was Brooke York.

But most of the time, Brooke York was number one. There’s a top scorer in the college entrance exams every year, but this was the first time anyone had ever seen someone get a zero on every single subject. The comment section was filled with all kinds of reactions.

[WTF, isn’t that the girl who fainted? I remember just a couple of days ago everyone online was saying she passed out after the exams because she’d been studying so hard she forgot to eat or sleep. How did she get a zero on every subject?!]

[You couldn’t get a zero on every subject even if you filled it out with your eyes closed! I’m completely stunned.]

[Both York family daughters are trending. One is first place, the other is dead last.]

The comments were increasing by dozens per second, and nearly all of them were mocking Brooke York.

After returning to the York residence, Brooke York locked herself in her room again. This time, she truly felt she couldn’t face anyone.

’She knew it. No amount of damage control could save her now. She was ruined!’

Alice Cole had no desire to comfort Brooke York. She was tired, too. After getting back, she went into her own room, turned off her phone, and refused to be contacted by anyone.

As for Miles York, he didn’t even come home that night, opting to stay at the office.

Just as Mr. Parker had said, a lot of people were indeed calling Chloe York. She hadn’t listed Alice’s or Miles’s phone numbers on her forms, putting down her own address instead. She was afraid that if she had used the York family’s information, they would try to make Brooke take her spot at university. That was definitely a possibility.

This led to her phone ringing constantly, and people were always trying to visit her. Of course, there were plenty of reporters, too. All she had to do was look downstairs to see journalists and cameramen shouldering their equipment.

Chloe York just lay on her bed. It was a good thing she had stocked up on some food at home beforehand; otherwise, she wouldn’t have known how she’d get through the past few days.

She also took advantage of this time to decide which university she would attend and get everything she needed ready.

By the fourth day, Chloe York noticed there were fewer reporters downstairs. They had probably given up after staking out her place for so long and were beginning to retreat.

She decided it was time to go out, too. She couldn’t stay cooped up at home forever.

Just then, Stella Winters also messaged her, asking to meet up. So, she quickly put on a small disguise, checked through the window that the remaining reporters were napping in their cars, and immediately headed downstairs.

"Chloe, congratulations! 749! You’re the top scorer! I haven’t been able to see you at all these past few days," Stella Winters said, pouting a little.

She had found out from the class group chat and online that Chloe York was the top scorer, and she had wanted to congratulate her in person right away. But when she went to Chloe’s rented apartment, it was swarming with reporters, and she couldn’t get through at all.

She didn’t feel right about messaging Chloe and asking her to come out, knowing she’d definitely be swarmed.

It was only today, after some of the reporters had finally left, that she messaged Chloe and asked her to come down.

"How did you do on your exams?" Chloe York asked Stella Winters.

"I got over 500. My parents already decided to send me abroad to study, so... no matter what, I had to come see you." Stella Winters’s tone was casual, as this had already been decided.

Her parents knew she wouldn’t get a great score, so they had already planned out her future for her.

"You have to come back and visit often in the future. And when you do, come find me," Chloe York reminded Stella.

"Of course! You’re my only best friend." Stella Winters patted Chloe York’s shoulder, making a promise.

"Oh, right, Chloe! I heard Brooke York got all zeros, and that it was revealed at your university acceptance party! Quick, tell me what happened that day." Stella suddenly remembered what she had read online. The internet posts were pretty clear, but she figured the story would be better coming from Chloe. After all, Chloe was at the center of it and had been there in person.

"Sure, I’ll tell you. But shouldn’t we find a boba shop to sit down and talk? It’s not great to discuss this on the street, and all this talking will make me thirsty." Chloe York wasn’t used to having these kinds of conversations on a public road; she much preferred finding a place to sit, drink boba, and chat.

"Of course we can! Let’s go, to the boba shop!"

The two went to a boba shop, each ordered a drink, and Chloe York told Stella Winters everything that had happened that day.

"Haha, that’s hilarious! It’s a shame I wasn’t there. If I had been, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to hold it in. I would have burst out laughing on the spot, and they would’ve kicked me out for sure." Stella Winters was roaring with laughter after hearing Chloe’s story.

She could almost picture the look on Brooke York’s face. It must have been priceless. If she had been there, she might have even recorded a video.

Seeing Stella laugh so hard, Chloe York couldn’t help but smile, too.

’It wasn’t that she was gloating. It was just that if the original owner of this body were still here, Brooke York would have mocked her relentlessly.’

’In her previous life, she had found it difficult to empathize with anyone who bullied her, except for her own family. So, she tried to put herself in the other’s shoes. If her and Brooke York’s positions had been reversed last night, her fate would have been no better than Brooke’s is now. It would have been even worse. She might have even been sent to some strange man’s bed.’

"Chloe, what a coincidence! Running into you here... does this mean we’re fated to meet?" Zoe Roland’s figure appeared in the boba shop.

"Yeah, what a coincidence. So coincidental it’s almost as if this is the only boba shop around here," Stella Winters said sarcastically when she saw Zoe Roland. She really didn’t like Zoe; she always felt there was something shady about that girl.

Zoe Roland pretended not to hear Stella’s words and sat down right next to Chloe York.

In reality, she had been staking out the area near Chloe York’s apartment for the past few days. She knew there were tons of reporters guarding the building downstairs every day, so Chloe couldn’t possibly go out.

But over the last two days, the crowd had started to thin out, so she guessed Chloe might be about to venture out.

And sure enough, she spotted a slightly disguised Chloe York slipping out while the reporters weren’t looking.

The moment Chloe came out, Zoe followed her. She watched her meet up with Stella Winters, and then saw the two of them come to the boba shop.

Only after they had been inside for a while did she enter and pretend it was a chance encounter.

"Chloe, congratulations! You scored a 749 and you’re the top scorer!" Zoe Roland congratulated Chloe York sincerely.
