"My work as Doctor Octopus was really just a trial run. When I saw the international response was decent, I got the idea to go solo. I changed my name to Lila and, while I was at it, founded LY."

Leo Grant was left speechless, a hint of playful grievance in his voice. "A trial run? Decent response? Founded it while you were at it? Do you have any idea how much jealousy you’re stoking when you talk like that?"

Whether it was LY or the names of those two weapons designers, any single one of them was enough to leave people in awe. Only she could mention them so casually.

"I know," Yvonne Lowell said with a shrug, her tone teasing. "That’s why I’m only telling you, Master G."

After all, the head of G Group and its chief weapons designer, G, was also a world-renowned figure. He was certainly no less impressive than she was.

Leo Grant paused for a moment, then chuckled. "What Master G? You should be calling me little G. My reputation doesn’t even rank compared to Doctor Octopus and Lila."

Yvonne Lowell turned her head and shot him a look that said, ’Do you actually believe a word you’re saying?’

Leo Grant’s face showed no trace of guilt. Instead, he let out a soft sigh.

"Looks like I’ll have to keep working hard, or people will say I’m not good enough for you. But since my girlfriend is so amazing, it’s not too much to ask for a chance to be a kept man, is it?"

Yvonne Lowell’s brow quirked. She reached out and playfully scratched his chin.

"The sole heir and prince of the Grant Family begging to be kept, willing to become a pretty boy for love? If word of this got out, aren’t you afraid Grandpa Grant would grab his cane and give you a couple of whacks?"

"Grandpa? He wouldn’t. In fact, he’d praise me for a job well done. He’d probably even prepare a dowry for me and have me marry into your family on the spot."

Leo Grant said this with a completely straight face, because he knew his grandfather was absolutely the type of person to do something like that.

They couldn’t seal a childhood engagement nineteen years ago, so what was wrong with having his grandson marry into her family nineteen years later?

Yvonne Lowell laughed at his words. "Alright, then. I’ll give you a chance to mooch off me. The free meals at my house are guaranteed to be soft, sweet, and plentiful."

"In that case, I’d better work hard to keep my looks. My face and body can’t decline, or I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold on to this golden thigh of yours."

Leo Grant smiled, his arm around hers tightening unconsciously.

Yvonne Lowell patted his head. "Relax. This golden thigh requires an admission ticket, and you’re the only one who has one."

The two chatted for a few more moments before going their separate ways.

Of course, that’s assuming one ignored the utterly abandoned look on a certain Mr. Grant’s face.

The Lowell family had all returned to the ancestral residence a few days prior to prepare for the banquet.

Today, everyone rose bright and early to begin the ritual proceedings of the coming-of-age ceremony.

Adrian Lowell first had to bathe and put on new clothes.

Next, he went to the ancestral hall, where he knelt to offer incense and recite the family rules and ancestral teachings.

Then, all the elders took turns offering him their guidance and blessings.

Finally, Adrian Lowell received the hair binding gold crown from Grandpa Lowell, marking the completion of the ceremony.

Yvonne Lowell had previously learned from her grandmother that the Lowell lineage had produced several Prime Ministers.

That was why the family still observed many customs passed down from that era, such as this very ceremony.

"Thank you, Uncle. Thank you, Aunt." Adrian Lowell grinned as he accepted the property deed.

His other older brothers also presented their gifts one by one: a watch, limited-edition sneakers, another house, and collectible figurines.

Nina Jennings’s gift was gold bars—eighteen of them. Yes, you read that right. A total of eighteen large, 500-gram gold bars.

When Adrian Lowell opened the box, he was nearly blinded by the shine.

Then there was Zachary Jacobs, who gifted him a dozen large, discontinued LEGO sets.

Normally, it would have been the perfect gift, but that idiot had packed them in a large box and covered the top with a pile of SAT prep books, Princeton Review guides, and AP test workbooks...

If Adrian Lowell hadn’t refused to believe it and dug a little deeper to find the real gift, he probably would have held a grudge against Zachary Jacobs for the rest of his life.

After everyone had given their presents, all eyes turned in unison to Yvonne Lowell.

Adrian Lowell didn’t say anything, but his eyes held a subtle hint of expectation.
