Chapter 96: We Wait
[Ten thousand feet above the Villa.]
Six figures clad in dark robes, which covered every single part of their bodies including their faces, stood suspended in the air, staring down at the ruined villa. The violent clash of SSS-Rank auras that had just terrorized the city below barely registered as a breeze to them.
"He seems to be against the Ancient families." A lady’s voice sounded from one, her red eyes glowing fiercely under her robe’s hood.
"We don’t know that." The fat figure on the side shook his head lightly, his massive frame completely defying gravity.
"What should we do, Raze? Should we approach him?" The one standing beside the guy called Raze asked, eager to intervene.
Raze stood still, not moving an inch, his eyes closed. His presence was like a dormant black hole, quietly absorbing the ambient energy around him. After some seconds of heavy silence, he finally spoke:
"We wait and keep observing... We don’t know if he is the right one, for now, we watch."
The five stared at one another, and nodded their heads in absolute obedience. They watched as he seamlessly turned into a black raven, and flew away into the turbulent clouds.
"Let’s go, soon... We will achieve our goal, and finally be free."
The remaining five transformed into birds, and flew away, heading towards the edge of the city. The oppressive aura leaking from them was far beyond any SSS-RANK Awakened, hinting at a power that broke the known limits of the world.
____
[Sitting Room.]
Asher walked inside with Juliana, seeing Sara already seated on the couch, calmly reading her book. The contrast between the apocalyptic standoff outside and the quiet domesticity inside gave Asher a sudden sense of grounding.
With Sara’s condition, she has no idea what happened outside; even if she watched everything unfold, she will understand nothing, so she went back to reading, completely isolated in her own silent world.
Asher didn’t bother explaining what happened to her, not wanting to burden her with the political mess, and simply brought out the golden Cauldron. Seeing the massive, glowing item appearing before her, Sara raised her head from her book to it, then looked at Asher and Juliana with curious, unblinking eyes.
"Juliana, what can you make with this?" Asher asked, turning to his third wife, wondering just how much utility Lord Daniel had unknowingly handed them.
"Let’s see, I don’t have the materials here, but if I have enough, I can make Divine-Tier health potions."
"Divine What?!!" Asher was stunned, staring at her in absolute horror. The sheer scale of what she had casually suggested shattered his understanding of alchemy.
"A Divine-Tier true health potion could bring someone back to life!!" He added in disbelief.
"Yeah, I know that... But the resources are unbelievably rare, so I can’t make it; in all my life, I have made only two... Anyway, if I manage the resources I can get from the current market, I can make at most Celestial-Tier potions, and pills." Juliana explained casually, sitting down beside Sara, and affectionately resting her head on her shoulder.
’The hell?!! Is she saying with the right materials, she could make Divine-Tier potions, and pills?!! The success rate should be very low, and she still succeeded making two in the past... With the system, anything is possible.’ Asher thought, staring at his wife in pure disbelief. His mind immediately began doing the math.
If Juliana could make even one Divine-Tier potion or pill, and he invested it in Sara or Kelly, wouldn’t he get hundreds more? He could single-handedly collapse the awakened world’s economy.
Asher grinned inwardly; this wife of his is a bigger treasure trove than any dungeon. Not only does she have a time Physique, she could make pills and potions, and even control time domains... If he gets her back to her absolute peak, their family’s strength will be entirely unimaginable.
"The Cauldron is also good for crafting weapons." Juliana sat up, holding her jaw in deep thought.
"If I have some spirit stones, and maybe a low-grade weapon, I could improve the grade of the weapon into a higher grade." She said.
"Please stop..." Asher stretched his hand towards her, a desperate frown on his face.
Are you kidding?! Making Divine-Tier pills and potions already made you a powerhouse, now you’re adding forging... Can there truly be someone in this world that has so many overpowered skills? It felt illegal.
"I am not lying..." Juliana pouted, and turned to Sara, explaining everything to her telepathically; the next moment, Sara turned around to Asher, and nodded her head in solemn agreement, verifying her sister’s absurd claims.
"....?!"
Asher blinked, completely speechless, his brain shutting down for a moment: If Juliana could also forge weapons, he could just sit down and reward them to his wives, gaining more multiplier rewards. Isn’t this a perfect life?
But...
He turned his gaze back to the massive golden vessel sitting in his living room.
Who the hell forges weapons with a cauldron?
"Show us then."
Asher opened his palm, as a long sword appeared in his hand, radiating the dense aura of Heaven-Tier.
"Hey!! Isn’t that my space splitting sword you took?!" Juliana jumped to her feet, staring at him with a slight frown, and then the excuse he gave her finally struck.
"You... You lied to me... Gosh, was I that stupid?" She facepalmed herself, groaning at her own past gullibility.
"Well, back then I couldn’t bring out my main weapon, and I knew you won’t let it go, so I made that excuse." Asher said with a shameless, unapologetic smile.
"The annoying part is that I believed you..." Juliana shook her head, letting the deception slide as she turned her gaze back to the cauldron:
"That weapon will be useless... This Cauldron could only make something at Celestial-Tier, anything above that will go to waste." She pointed out with absolute professional certainty, taking the sword from him.
"Alright, then I am gifting you this Cauldron." Asher said with a warm smile, watching as she crossed her arms over her chest defensively.
"What else? I am the only one amongst us who can use it, even if you don’t gift me, I will still use it." She said seriously, her pride flaring up.
Asher sighed inwardly. Juliana might be back to her senses, but the Gangster Queen is still right there beneath the surface: ’Oh, well, they’re one after all.’ He thought fondly.
