INFINITE MEMORIES : MY F-RANK SKILL IS ACTUALLY THE STRONGEST

Chapter 112: IRON ARMORY

<Chapter - 112 The Iron Armory of the Black Flame>

The colossal vaulted chambers of the Obsidian Citadel resonated with the rhythmic, volcanic hum of awakening war furnaces.

Fifty miles of subterranean subterranean galleries—dormant since the fall of the 14th Cycle—roared back to life. Rivers of molten starlight ore surged through pre-Cataclysm aqueducts carved into the petrified ironwood foundations, casting deep amber and violet shadows across the endless ranks of slumbering war machines.

Standing at the front of the grand balcony overlooking the Foundry Abyss, Noah Kurtz leaned casually against the cold stone railing.

His slouching posture was as unbothered as ever, hands resting inside the deep pockets of his dark coat. Pinned over his left lapel, the ironwood leaf brooch absorbed the swirling thermal updrafts from the magma veins below, pulsing with a steady, quiet golden luster. Underneath his sleeves, his black ironwood forearm guards hummed in perfect synchrony with his 3.75% Diamond Authority, anchoring the Citadel’s massive gravitational stabilizers with effortless ease.

Standing directly beside him, her shoulder resting lightly against his arm, was Rin Asakura.

Rin wore her soft lavender kimono, the deep indigo hemline fluttering gently in the rising heat of the furnaces. Her crystalline violet eyes swept across the vast abyss below.

With Asura’s Touch seamlessly intertwined with her unsealed void-sight, Rin observed the intricate flow of ancient kinetic laws weaving through the Citadel. She saw the slumbering legions—hundreds of thousands of Ashen Ironclad dread-constructs—waiting in mechanical stasis, their logic cores aligning one by one to Noah’s pulse.

Slowly, Rin reached out, her delicate fingers sliding smoothly into Noah’s right palm.

Noah’s hand turned naturally, his calloused fingers entwining with hers, his thumb caressing the soft skin of her knuckles with quiet, unbreakable warmth. A subtle thread of Diamond Ki flowed from his palm into her meridians, keeping the dry, sulfurous heat of the foundry from parching her breath.

"The forge has a rhythm, Noah..." Rin whispered softly, her melodic, formal cadence carrying an intimate warmth that rose above the clangor of distant steel. "It does not beat with anger. It beats with duty. These soldiers went to sleep knowing their Emperor would return to finish the work."

Noah looked down at her beautiful, violet-eyed profile, a rare, genuine tenderness softening his steel-gray gaze. He gently tightened his grip around her hand.

"They went to sleep because they trusted the Cabinet, Rin," Noah spoke softly, his flat, rasping whisper carrying the ancient weight of an unyielding legacy. "In the 14th Cycle, when the Hegemony’s Archons burned our outer worlds, Ignis and the other eleven held the rear guard until every civilian ark was launched into the void. They didn’t retreat. They chose the ice."

Rin turned her face toward him, her violet irises shining with boundless pride and sweet devotion. She stood on her tiptoes, resting her cheek gently against his shoulder, holding his entwined hand against her heart.

"And now, Noah," Rin murmuring softly, "they wake to a world where they will never have to hold the line alone again."

A heavy, earth-shaking step echoed behind them, accompanied by the metallic clang of dragon-scale plate armor.

General Ignis, Vanguard of the Black Flame, approached the balcony. The thirty-foot titan had compressed his kinetic density, allowing his armored frame to stand at a manageable eight feet tall, though the dark crimson fire burning behind his iron visor still radiated the crushing presence of an ancient apex warrior.

Ignis dropped to one knee, lowering his colossal black flame halberd to the stone floor.

"Sire," Ignis rumbled, his voice like grinding tectonic plates. "The secondary armories of the Iron Nebula are responding to the Citadel’s harmonic beacon. Three hundred Ashen Dreadnoughts have completed their automatic defrost sequences in the dry docks. The Ironclad Legions await your strategic deployment against the Theocracies."

"Relax your stance, Ignis," Noah replied smoothly, not turning his gray eyes from the foundry floor. "We aren’t fighting a pitched war of attrition across sixty systems. We are cutting the head off the snake."

"A decapitation strike, Sire?" Ignis asked, the fire in his visor flaring with solemn intrigue.

"The Celestial Hegemony relies on their Three Grand Archons to broadcast divine law through the Golden Spire at the center of the galaxy," Noah explained flatly. "Without the Spire, their ships lose their synchronized warp calculations, their inquisitors lose their borrowed light, and their empire shatters into disorganized fragments."

"Man," Jiho Park’s voice echoed lazily from the top of an overturned ammo crate nearby.

The S-Rank Juggernaut was sitting cross-legged, wearing his scuffed slide sandals and oversized gray sweatpants. In his hands was a massive iron bowl packed to the brim with chilled chunks of the wagon-sized Vega melon and thick slices of cured space-beast ham.

Jiho paused with a paddle full of food halfway to his mouth, scratching his messy black hair.

"Master," Jiho mumbled around a mouthful of sweet melon. "This big fire-guy Ignis is pretty cool, but his armor looks heavy. If we go punch this Golden Spire thing, do they have a kitchen there? Fighting in space makes a guy burn calories twice as fast."

General Ignis turned his glowing red visor toward Jiho, tilting his massive helm in sheer, stunned bewilderment.

"Sire..." Ignis rumbled slowly, pointing a spiked gauntlet at the slumping young man in sweatpants. "Is this mortal... your Vanguard Champion? His physical density registers at planetary threshold, yet he is consuming melon in rubber sandals before the Emperor."

"That’s Jiho," Chloe Harrington laughed, strolling up the balcony steps with an amused smirk.

Chloe wore her dark leather duster unbuttoned over her shoulders, her dead platinum revolvers resting loosely in her holsters. She flipped her silver coin high into the air, catching it with a crisp, rhythmic snap.

"Don’t let the sandals fool you, General," Chloe teased, tossing a wink toward Rin. "He threw a fifty-ton asteroid through a Hegemony flagship’s solar reactor two hours ago because he wanted to get to the melon harvest on time."

Ignis stared at Jiho for three long seconds. Slowly, the ancient fire general nodded with profound, terrifying respect. "A warrior of pure, primal inertia. A worthy shield for the Ashen Throne."

"I just like lunch, man," Jiho grunted sleepily, shoveling another massive bite into his mouth.

"Boss! Boss, look at the celestial telemetry scan!" Alistair Vance shouted, bursting through the armory archway.

Alistair was practically vibrating, his glasses sitting sideways on his nose, holding an enormous brass terminal that hissed with clouds of pressurized coffee steam. "The Hegemony has detected the reactivation of the Obsidian Citadel! The Three Grand Archons have mobilized the Grand Solar Armada—ten thousand war vessels have formed an absolute blockade around the perimeter of the Golden Spire of Sol-Aethel!"

Alistair wiped a bead of cold sweat from his forehead with a grease-stained cuff. "Ten thousand ships, Boss! They’ve linked their primary plasma cannons into a planetary-scale orbital grid! If anything approaches standard space within three light-years, it gets reduced to subatomic vapor!"

Noah turned around slowly, his steel-gray eyes cold, clinical, and completely empty of fear.

"Then we don’t approach standard space," Noah said calmly.

He reached out his right hand, keeping his fingers tightly linked with Rin’s, and touched the ancient activation glyph carved into the balcony balustrade.

Circulate.

Underneath his dark sleeves, Noah’s black ironwood forearm guards flared with a blinding, diamond-white brilliance. Inside his spine, his Root Authority merged the spatial laws of the Diamond Archive with the kinetic slipstream of the entire Citadel.

HUMMMMMM—!

The fifty-mile obsidian fortress shuddered gently. Across the external battlements, ancient diamond-matrix propulsion thrusters flared with brilliant platinum-white energy, bending the spatial coordinates of the surrounding asteroid belt.

Noah looked down at Rin, his steel-gray eyes filled with quiet, tender clarity.

"Are you ready, Rin?" Noah asked softly.

Rin looked up at him, her violet eyes burning with absolute, radiant love and fearless resolve. She stepped close into his space, her free hand resting gently over his heart, feeling the steady, unyielding beat that anchored her world.

"My sword is drawn, my heart is yours, Noah," Rin whispered softly, a breathtaking, radiant smile lighting up her face. "Let us take the center of the stars."

Noah gently squeezed her hand, turning his gaze toward the Twelve Vassals, his squad, and the glowing galaxy beyond the viewport.

"Ignis, deploy the legions," Noah Kurtz commanded flatly, his rasping whisper carrying the ancient authority of the Ashen Sovereign across the fifty-mile fortress. "Next stop: Sol-Aethel."

The Obsidian Citadel tore through the fabric of the cosmos, jumping straight into the heart of the Celestial Hegemony.
