THE BOYS: The Wrong Main Character

Chapter 84 : Dragged In

"Well..." Gojo said as she circled around him with obvious curiosity. "Are you related to the Gojo Clan somehow? Or did one of those old fossils secretly have some fun overseas and leave behind a surprise?"

Mark looked at her for a moment before shaking his head.

"Nope. I’m not related to the Gojo family at all. My name’s Mark."

"Hmm..."

She rested a finger against her chin, clearly unconvinced, but didn’t press the issue.

Instead, Mark frowned.

"Wait a second."

He looked at her again.

"Why is your name Satoru? Even I know that’s definitely a man’s name."

Gojo’s smile immediately stiffened.

"...Yeah."

She let out a long sigh.

"You can thank the old men in the Gojo Clan for that."

She rolled her eyes.

"They decided the bearer of the Six Eyes needed a name that would strike fear into the hearts of curse users. Apparently, nobody stopped to mention I was born a girl."

Mark couldn’t help raising an eyebrow.

"So they just... kept the name?"

"They absolutely did," she replied with a deadpan expression. "As revenge, I’ve made sure they’ve suffered for it ever since. Trust me, I’ve been an absolute nightmare for those old geezers."

A smug grin spread across her face.

"Oh, and don’t call me Satoru."

She pointed a thumb at herself.

"Call me Satomi."

Mark looked at her in confusion.

"Then why introduce yourself as Gojo Satoru?"

Satomi shrugged as though it were the most natural thing in the world.

"I’ve lived with that name for years. It just comes out automatically."

A mischievous smile appeared on her face.

"...Besides, it’s funny watching people realize they’ve been talking to a girl named Satoru."

She lowered her dark glasses just enough to reveal one bright blue eye and gave him a playful wink.

"The confusion is half the fun."

"Yeah... I’m already confused," Mark said.

Satomi smiled as though that was the expected response.

"Well then, let’s go."

Mark frowned.

"Go where?"

A sense of unease crept into his mind.

Don’t tell me she’s taking me somewhere to interrogate me and figure out who I really am...

Satomi ignored the suspicious look on his face and asked, "Two quick questions. Do you know Japanese? And do you have any money?"

Mark scratched the back of his head before answering honestly.

"...No."

Satomi stared at him for a moment.

Then she pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a long sigh.

"So you somehow ended up in Japan without speaking Japanese, without any moneys"

She looked at him from head to toe before shaking her head with an amused smile.

"...You’re a bigger headache than I thought."

Mark gave an awkward shrug.

"I’d explain, but I don’t think you’d believe me."

"I probably wouldn’t," Satomi admitted. "Still, unless you plan on starving to death, you’re coming with me."

Mark narrowed his eyes.

"...That wasn’t a request, was it?"

Satomi’s smile widened.

"It sounded like one, didn’t it?" Satomi said with a teasing smile. "Come on, you’re coming with me. You agree, don’t you?"

Mark let out a tired sigh.

"Can’t I just go back to America?"

Satomi’s expression became a little more serious, though the smile never completely disappeared.

"You can."

She paused for a moment before continuing.

"But I wouldn’t recommend it."

Mark raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"Because the American jujutsu community isn’t blind," Satomi replied. "The moment someone with the Six Eyes and Limitless appears, they’ll come looking for you."

She pointed at his eyes.

"Do you have any idea how valuable those are? The Six Eyes aren’t something you can hide forever. Once people realize what you have, every major jujutsu organization will want answers."

Mark frowned.

"So I’d spend my life being chased."

"Pretty much."

She shrugged casually.

"At least in Japan, I can keep people from bothering you for a while."

Mark looked at her suspiciously.

"And what’s the catch?"

Satomi grinned.

"The catch is that you’ll owe me lunch once you figure out how to make money."

Mark stared at her for a few seconds before letting out another sigh.

"...You’re surprisingly optimistic for someone who just found a complete stranger who is out of the norm."

Satomi laughed.

"Stranger? Maybe."

She adjusted her glasses.

"But that’s still better than normal," Satomi said.

She already had enough to deal with.

The higher-ups of Jujutsu Society were a group of hypocritical old men who clung to outdated traditions and authority.

Now Sukuna’s vessel had appeared, and they would undoubtedly demand his immediate execution simply because they feared the power he carried.

Then another problem had appeared.

A man who possessed both the Six Eyes and Limitless.

There was no way the higher-ups would leave someone like Mark alone.

They would do everything they could to bring him under Jujutsu Society’s control.

If they failed, they would almost certainly declare him a threat and attempt to eliminate him instead.

In Satomi’s eyes, executing Sukuna’s vessel now was completely shortsighted. Sukuna’s fingers were indestructible, and as long as they remained scattered throughout the world, the threat would never disappear.

So, executing Sukuna’s vessel now was simply a waste of potential.

"Ummm... I’m suddenly having a lot of issues with that smile. Maybe I should just go back to America," Mark said as he slowly turned, intending to leave.

Before he could take more than a step, Satomi grabbed his wrist.

"Oh no, you’re not getting away that easily."

Without waiting for an answer, she leaped onto the rooftop of a nearby building, effortlessly dragging Mark along with her.
