Chapter 31 : Six Eyes
Mark’s eyes widened the instant he recognized the figure on the card.
The coke can slipped slightly from his hand and nearly tipped over onto the table before he caught it again.
Hughie looked up immediately.
"You alright?"
Mark barely heard him.
His entire focus stayed locked onto the glowing card floating in front of his vision while his brain struggled to process what he was seeing.
’What the holy fuck...’
Satoru Gojo.
Out of every possible template the system could have given him,
It pulled Satoru fucking Gojo.
Mark genuinely felt his heartbeat speed up.
Because this wasn’t just another strong character.
This was one of the most absurdly overpowered people in anime.
The strongest sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen.
The man called the Honored One.
In his own universe, Gojo stood so far above everyone else that his existence alone kept entire factions terrified of acting openly. The gap between him and normal sorcerers wasn’t large.
It was monstrous.
And now that template had appeared inside The Boys universe of all places.
Mark stared at the card almost blankly while thoughts kept crashing into each other.
’This is actually insane...’
Because compared to abilities like Infinity, Limitless, and the Six Eyes, most supes suddenly felt simplistic.
Super strength.
Laser vision.
Speed.
Durability.
All of it started looking a lot less invincible once reality-warping spatial manipulation entered the conversation.
Even Homelander—the man everyone in this world treated like an unstoppable god—suddenly didn’t feel untouchable anymore in Mark’s mind.
Then the template integration began.
And unlike the previous templates, this one immediately felt wrong.
The moment the card dissolved into light, a violent surge of information slammed into Mark’s mind hard enough to make his body tense in the booth. His breathing hitched instantly while pressure built behind his eyes so fast it genuinely felt like his skull was about to split open.
Changes started appearing across him almost immediately.
His hair slowly began turning white strand by strand while his eyes deepened into an unnatural ocean blue that looked far too bright beneath the restaurant lights.
Even the atmosphere around him subtly shifted, enough that nearby people instinctively glanced toward him without understanding why.
Then the real pain hit.
Mark suddenly grabbed his head tightly as another wave of information flooded through his brain.
The Six Eyes weren’t just powerful.
They processed absurd amounts of information constantly.
Gojo had spent his entire life adapting to them since childhood, learning naturally how to filter and understand what he perceived.
Mark received everything instantly.
Every sound around him sharpened violently.
He could hear conversations across the restaurant individually, plates scraping against tables, breathing patterns, heartbeats, footsteps outside the building, electricity humming through the lights overhead.
His brain tried processing all of it simultaneously.
The overload became unbearable almost immediately.
"Fuck..."
The table beneath his hand cracked slightly from the force of his grip.
Hughie stood up in alarm.
"Mark, what the hell—"
"Hughie," Mark said through clenched teeth, voice strained and uneven, "get the fuck away from me."
One of his glowing blue eyes lifted toward him briefly.
For a split second, the air between them distorted unnaturally.
Mark’s breathing became rougher while pain kept hammering through his skull without stopping.
His brain genuinely felt like it was starting to lose control under the flood of information.
He suddenly pushed himself out of the booth hard enough to send the chair crashing backward.
He needed to get away.
Now.
Without even thinking properly, Mark stumbled forward and smashed straight through the restaurant wall instead of using the door.
Concrete exploded outward around him.
People inside panicked immediately as dust and broken debris scattered across the street outside.
Mark barely noticed any of it.
His head felt like it was burning.
"Ahhhhhhhhh—!"
The scream tore out of him uncontrollably while he clutched at his skull trying desperately to stabilize himself.
Then suddenly—
the road beneath him cracked apart.
The force erupted downward hard enough to shatter the pavement as his body shot upward into the sky like something had launched him.
The burst happened so fast nearby cars shook from the impact alone.
Inside the ruined restaurant, Hughie stumbled through the broken wall a few seconds later completely stunned by the destruction around him.
He looked upward toward the sky where Mark had disappeared.
"What the hell is happening...?"
Hughie practically slammed the van door open when he returned.
The panic on his face immediately caught everyone’s attention.
Butcher looked up first.
"The fuck happened?"
Hughie was still trying to catch his breath properly.
"Mark—he—" Hughie stammered, still sounding completely confused by what he had just witnessed. "He just... flew away."
Silence filled the van for a second.
Frenchie frowned immediately.
"Flew away?" he repeated. "What is he, some kind of bird now?"
Mother’s Milk looked toward Hughie sharply.
"What do you mean flew away?"
Hughie ran a hand through his hair trying to explain it properly.
"He started freaking out," he said quickly. "His eyes changed, his hair started turning white, then he smashed through the restaurant wall and suddenly the road exploded underneath him and he shot into the sky!"
The van went quiet again.
